Cedar Bark Park

We love this park and go here 5−5x a week!
Great piece of land — great people and smart dog owners!

I came here for the first time this past week. I heard about it from a guy at the 10^th st dog park who said it was worth the drive, so it really piqued my curiosity. *note — driving here in the morning from Rosedale, you get to see all the bad traffic Austin has to offer without being a part of it. It was smooth sailing at 8:30 am.
I met a great group of regulars and my dog met a lot of playmates.
For all the dog parks I’ve been to– and I’ve been to a lot– there was not a lot of poop around, a little here and there, but generally, there was not much. The large dog park area is divided into 2 areas — one that’s mostly dirt and twig mulch with agility equipment. The other side has the dog pond with the dog and woodsy areas. My dog enjoyed running amok here.
I like the dog shower area which was probably the least favorite thing for my pup.
This park is really well cared for. the only real con is the distance — the drive with no traffic was about 34 minutes, so this place can’t be an every day thing. It is nice though. The dirt in the agility area really cakes on your shoes, but again, there’s a very useful dog shower area.

We brought our new puppy (who is fully vaccinated) to this park and were so happy to see how well it was laid out. We went to the small dog area and there was a dog running around having diarrhea every 5 minutes. All the dogs were sniffing and licking its butt (duh! They are dogs!). His owner was on her iPhone and was oblivious. There were piles off poop everywhere. The owners were nice, but we won’t be back because of the sanitary condition of the park. The dog pond looked fun, but the water looks unfiltered, brown and gross and I don’t want to know what’s lurking in the depths… wish people would have more respect for each other and clean up after their dogs and not bring sick dogs to a dog park.

This park has so much potential, sad that the city didn’t keep in mind safety for the dogs. Don’t know who the rocket scientist or city official was who thought leaving fist size rocks all over the park was a great idea. My dog tears off skin off her pads every time she plays here.
Cedar Park … Fix this!

What a great find! Friendly people, I love how it’s divided between the small dogs and larger dogs and offers a few water hoses to wash your dog after playing. The side for larger dogs is much nicer because they have a swimming area. Will be returning many times with my dog. It would be five stars if the little dog side got a swimming hole too! this park is highly recommended!

It had been awhile since Samuel and I came here. My husband and I brought Samuel to the park on a Saturday afternoon. After our visit I was bummed that this place has kind of gone down hill. The areas near the water is more mud now. There used to be gravel but there’s non now. I saw a lot of dog poop all over the place which makes me angry. It just seemed like they aren’t maintaining the park like they used to. The only plus is that there’s a fountain in the middle now that keeps the water moving so it doesn’t stay stagnant.
Samuel had fun just running around and romping around with some dogs. After we spent some time in the water area we went to the other dog park. We let him walk around and snoop around by himself. The grass was so dry and non existent. It was sad. Come on Cedar Bark Park get it together.

This is such a great park! So much open space. Huge body of water and plenty of tennis balls lying around in case you forget one. We take both our boxer and shih tzu here to swim and they love it.

My dog loves this place. It’s clean and there’s so much space for my dog to run! My only complaint would be a lot of times the poop bag holders are empty but I bring my own now just incase. But seriously check this place out. After an hour here my dog is passed out for a good day or 2. She loves all the new friends she meets and to run around the park!

Excellent FENCED dog park, 3 separate areas. 2 for large dogs (one with pond and one without) and one for small dogs. Plenty of water stations, including a huge 6 station wash area for after they play in the pond.

We absolutely love taking our dog to this park! Our dog is about 10 lbs and has a TON of energy! The small dog area is wonderful and quite large, I have never felt like I was cramped, even when it was busy!
All of the owners are extremely nice and I have never had any problems, atleast in the small dog area!

Super fun place to take your dog on a nice day. Love that there are two areas for both small and larger dogs. Although my dog won’t step foot in the pond, it’s nice to see other dogs jumping in and cooling off!

What a great park! I’m amazed! We were in town from Houston, I’m glad we stopped by, I loved the two large dog sections and all the safety gates. I highly recommend this park!

Love coming here! Very open for dogs to run full speed no problem. I bring my 5 yr old with us all the time, she loves watching the dogs. Owners are responsible for their dogs behavior. Huge lake area for dogs to swim (also an area without a lake for non swimmers) They even have an area to bathe your dog after the park. Bring a towel and soap! A do feel a little more maintenance could be done here. Watch out for the rocks, if your dog is having to much fun they could stumble into one in the lake and come out limping :((haven’t seen any real damage though) also the lake water has caused area for parasites to live so make sure your dog is up to date on shots and health. Otherwise, kids will be kids

This is a great place to take your dogs. As long as they are friendly with other dogs they will have a great time. I especially like the water fountain area, because my dog really likes to play in the water. Very cool.

This is the best dog park ever. My puppy and I Iove it. It is clean and large with responsible dog owners. Best playdate ever…

First time visiting, pond was closed but it was okay lots of fun dogs, our pup had a great time.
I did leave very upset though, I will give the park Good stars but the attendees not so much this lady left both gates open & let out our dog, we got him back but from someone who has witnessed her childhood dog get hit by a car right in front of me, the experience left me upset.
We watch our dog at all times, we saw what was happenening while it was happening & by the time we ran over they all were out the gates.
Our last dog park had spring loaded gates which were really nice just
Please Please Please be careful when leaving the park that you close the gates & other doggies behind you! Don’t open one gate until the other is shut or all dogs are leashed.

Now that my husband has a dog friendly car, he went all out and set the back up for our huskies so that they can cruise in comfort without getting hair and drool all over the rest of the interior. This is a big deal because it means we can take them more places other than just when we are going out of town and have to take them to boarding.
The original plan today was to go for a walk with them on one of the downtown trails, but I have a cold and wasn’t up for it. They still needed to play and let energy out though, so I did a little research and found this park via Unilocal!And yes, it’s free to get in.
Our girls are always up to date on their shots, heart worm medications, and flea medications so we don’t worry too much when they play with other dogs. Here they have three fenced areas: one for big dogs, one for small dogs, and one with a pond where the dogs can play in the water.
Small dogs are allowed in the big dog park, it’s really just a matter of judgement. You know your dog better than anyone else so if you know they will be fine with the larger dogs then let them in. If they are hesitant it’s probably best to keep them around dogs their own size.
There are plenty of fountains here to hydrate the pups as they play as well as lots of poop bag stations and trash cans so no excuses for not cleaning up after your dog! Just do so please :-) It takes two seconds and then no one will get their day ruined by accidentally stepping in it later.
We all had fun here! I love getting to play with the other dogs and our girls have the time of their lives and leave exhausted. They slept for the rest of day after we got them back home.
This is very close to our house too and in a nice part of town. This is probably going to become part of our weekend routine now

This place was pretty awesome. My dogs had a great time, owners and dogs alike were very friendly. The pond was awesome, as was just the open area for them to run. Its fenced in, doggy duty stations, and then at the exit there is hoses and concrete area with drainage if you want to wash your dog before taking them home. I wish there was more grass in some of the fenced area — as if it rained I’m sure it would be quite dirty as its a lot of dirt. But on a sunny day it was totally fine.

Cedar Park Bark Park is Cedar Parks favorite off leash Dog Park. This 5 acre park features a dog pond/​lake, drinking fountains, dog showers, benches, pet waste stations.
Great Park for Dogs, I only wish there were a few more shaded sitting areas for the humans (smile).

We love Cedar Bark Park! As soon as our pup Nala got all her puppy shots we started taking her there weekly which helped in getting her socialized.
The park is large and divided into three sections:
1. Small — under 30 pounds
2. Large — over 30 pounds (and smaller at your own risk)
3. And the water park which is over 30 pounds (and smaller at your own risk)
The amenities:
1. Several multilevel water fountains in each side of the park
2. A small amount of agility equipment on the large dog side
3. Newly added shade on the water park side
4. Dog washing stations
5. Quality poop bags (yes, this is noteworthy)
6. Lots of balls and Frisbees
The water side of the park is sort of like a pond with a water fountain in the center and a dock for the dogs to leap off of. They clean the water every Tuesday.
If you come at least once a week you start getting to know the regulars and Nala is always happy to see her fur friends when we go. Its free, I find the dog owners responsible and most importantly Nala has a blast.
