Bright Start is a family run learning center, specializing in pre-​school age children. The center is also open to infants and toddlers.

We have a core philosophy of creating a safe, healthy, and productive learning environment and appreciating the children in our care and our team that makes it all happen — their families and our staff. This Create and Appreciate philosophy permeates all aspects of our center. We believe that children learn best in small group settings, and our facility allows for smaller classroom sizes. We also believe in the «power of play» — as Michael Meyerhoff explains, children learn how to learn through developmentally appropriate play.

At Bright Start, your child spends the day in a stimulating, supportive, and respectful environment. We use the Mother Goose Time™ curriculum and supplement it with our Create and Appreciate curriculum. For example, we have a Technology Learning Center, Music Gateway, and Artists’ Nook, each available to our children on a regular and rotating basis. We love Ruth Krauss and The Carrot Seed, and each spring a community garden will be planted to help children learn about the environment and other important life lessons. At our center, children have opportunities to fully engage in classroom activities or simply observe, as they choose, and each day includes self-​directed playtime as well as more structured activities.
