Assured Sharp provides cutlery sharpening service to homes, restaurants, clubs, organizations, businesses and farmers markets. Located in Cedar Park, Texas, we serve customers around the Austin area. On weekends you can find us at the local farmers market.

At Assured Sharp we believe in providing the highest quality of customer service. We do whatever we can to sharpen your valuable objects and provide the best experience. Assured Sharp takes pride in being apart of the Cedar Park community. We assist clubs and organizations with membership drives and special events to spread knowledge about cutlery sharpening. We also supply local Austin restaurants and culinary schools with sharpening services.

History

Established in 2012.

Assured Sharp has been serving Cedar Park and the surround areas since 2012. The business was formed business after doing market research and finding out there were many sharpening needs. Now, Assured Sharp is honored to provide this necessary and helpful service to people, restaurants and culinary schools around Austin. With over three years of continuing success, we look forward to adding you to our growing history of happy customers.

I brought some knives to John expecting to drop them off and pick them up a day or so latter. Instead John invited me into his garage and pulled up a seat for me. We waxed philosophical for the next hour or so while he worked on my knives. It was a great experience, the kind that happens all too rarely now a days. Craftsmanship and great personal customer service. My knives are now perfectly razor sharp.

Very personable man. Explained what he was going to do. Also showed where someone had incorrectly sharpened the scissors before and corrected the flaw. No extra charge. Fast convenient.

John does an excellent job on knives — especially the santoku, which are my go to work horses in the kitchen! He is mobile — can either come to you (as he did for me) or you can find him at the local farmer’s market (Lakeline). His prices are very reasonable — especially when you get a lot of knives sharpened (I did 10). He also doesn’t scratch the knives as others have done when sharpening mine. My Wustof, New West, and Henkels knives were in great hands! Plus he teaches how to use your hone — BONUS! I highly recommend!

Emboldened by their stellar Unilocal reviews, I took a pair of knives in need of attention to these folks at the Farmers’ Market. The knives came back sharp — no really, SHARP. Unless you know your way around a whetstone (I don’t) it’s best to leave these types of things in the hands of professionals.

I have finally found a man that understands the difference between a sharpen and a hone.
I brought my kitchen knives, Calphalon Precison, to John for a trial run. I am amazing surprised! The knives have never been this sharp!
Excellent work! Excellent edge! Excellent training on honing the knives.
I went back again bringing my survival knives — they are sharp, have a clean edge and cut with a single stroke. Again, excellent work.

I used John’s service after seeing the reviews from Unilocal.and glad to say it paid off. Better be careful once John is done with your knives! They are SHARP! He was very diligent, patient and very through with his work. He also gave a lesson on how to hone the knives the right way. He is a teacher of his skill and is willing to share his knowledge and experience. A rare quality to find these days.

If you need any piece of cutlery sharpened you NEED to go see John. Not only is he incredibly knowledgeable but he is very affordable. He is just an absolute expert in his craft. You can tell he takes a lot of joy in helping people and sharing his knowledge. I brought him a Shun blade and he recognized it immediately and even had a particular method for sharpening my knife. He also had several helpful tips on how to continue to maintain and care for my blade. I couldn’t ask for a better experience. If you value excellent customer service and supreme expertise don’t go anywhere else!

I got my chef knife sharpened by John at the Mueller Farmers Market today, and am delighted by the fantastic job that he did on my knife! I am not always good about using my cutting board and so it needed a bit of extra care, and John gave me some tips on how to keep the edge on it in between sharpenings, all with a smile on his face. Every time I talk to him, he is cheerful and willing to talk with people about their knives and how to take care of them.
I will continue to take my knives to John and recommend him to anyone wanting to get their knives the best they can be, makes it so much safer than using a dull knife that can slip.

John at Assured Sharp is a wonderful example of what small business is about — I really love finding small business owners that care about their work, their crafts and their customers. John is a true craftsman and does a fantastic job at knife sharpening.
I had several Chef Knifes that needed serious sharpening — including a Wusthof Santoku that I thought I had ruined by «sharpening» it myself.
John did an amazing job at sharpening all of my knives and saving one of my favorite Wusthofs! John brought the damaged blade back to a razor edge, it looked brand new and was sharper than ever — I was thrilled!
What I appreciated most was the time that John took to explain his techniques and the education that I received in the process! He demonstrated his sharpening process, explained why each step was important, and taught me how to hone the knives with a steel to keep them sharp. He taught me about basic knife maintenance, and what to look for when buying a Chef knife (and what to avoid). I really enjoyed learning about how to better care for my knives.
John’s service is exceptional and in my opinion, very rare today. I would recommend him to anyone looking for a specialized knife sharpening service!

Met these delightful folks at the farmers market Saturday morning at Lakeline mall. They check and inspect the knives and price it out they give you an estimated time completion while you enjoy the rest of the farmers market.
They gave us tips and answered our questions, this man is a true craftsman that knows his trade. Has many interesting facts and recommendations from his updated knowledge in the industry for instance best wood cutting board to allow blade to stay sharp longer.
Great customer service will definitely be coming back annually to get my knives serviced.

Very glad that I located John at the Cedar Park Famer’s Market. I had a knife that needed repair and a lengthy explanation of what was done to it. John was easy to work with, as well as flexible in terms of his drop-​off/​pick-​up times.
For anything in the future, I know for a fact I’ll be going to visit John to take care of all of our knives (and you should too!)

I am very pleased to have John at Assured Sharp be my 400th review. I originally called John for a drop off appointment during the week, but ended up utilizing his services at the Cedar Park Farmer’s Market instead, so we could both free up our upcoming Tuesday.
From call, to drop off at the market, to tips and instructions, John and his wife were very educational and kind — and our knives were carefully and skillfully sharpened by a wonderful artisan. And the price wasn’t bad at all. His wife demonstrated how to ‘wing’ our knives, and John complimented us on our knife set — it was good to know that we have invested in a nice set.

This business is what Unilocal is all about. John is a local artisan who does a fantastic job at knife sharpening. I love finds like this!
I was able to drop off my knives, run an errand, and return for the knives which are now sharper than they were new! He demonstrated how to hone the knives to keep them sharper, longer. I also got some great tips on proper care. I would recommend him in a heartbeat to anyone looking for such a specialized service. His prices were completely reasonable as well. I can’t believe I sat on my dull knives for so long. (Well, not literally, but you know…)
Besides working out of his house, he has a booth at the Cedar Park Farmer’s Market. He also offers a mobile service, driving out to your event, etc, and will sharpen your knives while the event is going on. How cool is that?

Yeah for getting a knife tune up by nice people in an easy location all done conveniently while I shop! They really take pride in their work and do a fantastic job.
They also do scissors and yard tools. These people know their blades.
I find them on Sundays at the Mueller Farmers Market.
