Apache Moving and Storage is a 17 year old Austin company that uses all full-​time movers (no day laborers) for our professional relocation services. Apache Moving and Storage is fully licensed and insured with the Texas Department of Transportation as well as being an A+ Accredited Company by the Better Business Bureau.

Apache movers recently helped me with shifting within North Austin. They were well organized and also less expensive. They were good with all the heavy furniture too.
Make sure you give a correct estimate of the inventory so that they can size their team correctly.

Ok, this company has 2 pros and 2 cons.
The Pros
1.) They are inexpensive
2.) They are fast moves are generally done fairly quickly

2.) They are very fast/​careless. They will move stuff out so fast there is no care taken for you stuff. Im glad i took time to wrap my furniture prior to it being picked up. Even though that did not help much they still managed to dent, ding and scratch a few pieces, including putting a large scratch in the apartments vinyl wood floor with thier dolly. They also really didnt care to put any of our stuff where we wanted it instead wanted to dump everything in the apartment collect thier payment and leave.

I spoke with John on the one and thought I had everything all squared away. They confirmed and showed up but the two muscle men I requested did not. They damaged a picture, got lost and if I had not had someone here to help them get the big chest upstairs, it wouldn’t have happened. They also got lost on the way because they put in the wrong address. They have me half hour off but they were super slow because they were lost and also took forever to get the chest upstairs so, they did me no favor here. They damaged a picture and took a pic and said someone would contact. I have not heard one word. I will not use them again nor will I refer anyone to them. I feel overcharged by at least ½ which would be $ 50 plus I want my pic replaced.

Tried to get a quote from them, I requested a quote online & was then told to call or email JR regarding questions they had. Surely they should have called/​emailed me?
I did email JR who in turn asked me to take photos of some of the items I was moving. This would mean I needed to go back to my property & take the photos especially. I contacted 5 moving companies asking for quotes, they all got me back to me in a timely manner without requesting more work from me.
Not the way to do business — they lost mine anyway!

Apache was great! They were on time, which was very important to us. Shawn and Scott worked quickly and were very friendly. We moved from a 3rd story place to another 3rd story place, and they didn’t have one complaint. I highly recommend this company!

Apache Moving has moved me 3 times since I have been in Austin. I have always been very happy with the experience. The movers are always polite, respectful of my belongings, and very professional. They have helped me remember little things, have offered to help reassemble furniture, and will do anything extra upon being asked.
They are not fancy. The trucks are usually pretty old and have definitely seen their share of moves. But in my opinion, a shiny truck has zero effect on the success of a move. For the very reasonable rates they charge, I don’t mind the no frills attitude. This last time the truck got lost on the way to my new place and the movers gave me an overly fair discount to make up for the lost time. They are always looking for that little extra, so I wasn’t surprised. Would recommend them to anyone!

I put a 3 star and because I just want to ask a question o Terry the owner. Reading the reviews on Brad’s situation, you asked him for names of the movers. Don’t you all keep records of who you send out? I worked for Atlas Van Lines and North American for many years and they always knew who we moved. Your probably a very good company and thank you for answering the people on the reviews. I know that sometimes it is hard to find good employees who care about other peoples things. I always knew if had a good packer, everything went well. I paid them very well to load my truck and everything ran smoothly most of the time. But now and then some things go wrong. Like I said my main question was don you keep records to know who you sent out to move Brad? I wish you the very best and hope your company flourishes. Good luck Terry. Oh one thing I hope folks realize that because of one individual, your sill a good company. If I was moving, I would give you a contract to move me.

Spencer and Melvin were great. Friendly, strong, and took care of everything. Even took a few minutes to help my husband set up the bed because we had a lot more time left in our 2 hr minimum. We mostly had a first floor move, so we were pretty easy. Would use Apache moving & storage again.

I’m hard-​pressed to leave a decent rating, but timeliness is just as important as quality of the service to me.
I used Apache movers a couple weeks ago and will never use them again. I recommend you don’t even consider them as well. I was given a timeslot of 2 – 5 pm. Great, I can take the afternoon off from work and wait for the movers to show up. I requested a call an hour before arrival. Got a call at 445 saying they were running behind. Mike, my mover, didn’t even know what time it was and said he just moves people from 630 AM till late at night. I asked when he would be there, I was told two hours, so around 7⁄715. I get a call at 7 pm saying they’re finishing up and should be at my place within 30 minutes, so 745 pm ish. On comes 830, I call the apache moving office, voicemail, call the number back that had been calling me — Mike, get voicemail, leave one. At this point, I feel like I’ve been abandoned and would need to take another day off from work and find movers. I get a call at 915 saying they’re going to head to me now. They show up this time, finally around 930. Note, I only had two objects that were way too big and too heavy for me to move myself, and I was just going down the hall. Simplest move ever. Took them ~15 mins to do. So they did eventually show up, 4 – 5 hours after the promised window and took $ 30 off my bill. Mike and his partner were nice, but that doesn’t make up for being so late.
tl;dr, movers showed up 4 – 5 hours late, I care the same about timeliness as I do quality, don’t use apache movers.

Don’t use any other moving company in Austin. Apache is the only one you’ll ever need!
I had an absolutely fantastic experience with Apache Moving over the weekend. I called for a last-​minute, emergency move on Friday morning for a Saturday appointment. I had previously called about 10 other moving companies for quotes and they were either completely booked because it was so last-​minute, or their quotes were insanely high to move a one-​bedroom apartment.
But I spoke with Melinda on the phone at Apache. She was able to slot me in for a move the following day, said movers would arrive anywhere from 12 – 3 PM, and quoted me at $ 95 per hour (best deal out there compared to all the other companies I called.) Email confirmation sent within minutes… honestly, I thought, «this is too good to be true, something is definitely going to go wrong tomorrow.» But absolutely nothing went wrong at all…
My movers, Mario and Chris showed up right on time! They pulled up to my place at exactly noon, came to assess what needed to be moved and started right away around 12:20 PM. They were both extremely nice and professional. They had all the tools needed to take apart my bed (which happened to be a bit tricky because the previous movers stripped one of the screws.) But this was no problem for Mario or Chris; they figured out a way to make it work. Each of them were extremely careful when handling my belongings, which definitely helped calm my nerves. The guys worked so hard for the two hours they were working… and in 100 degree Texas heat, no less.
Great staff at Apache; they should definitely be proud of their team.
I have another move coming up in 6 months, and you better believe I’ll be calling Apache again!

We used them and were very disappointed. They will harass you if you do not write a positive review. They are not prepared to move heavy items. We warned them about a heavy item and because they did not record it in their notes they called us liars. Instead of trying to rectify the situation they felt it better to blame us.

Mom moved 5 – 20 and I still have not heard back from Apache moving (despite the reply below) regarding Mom’s bill. I am unsure how long it takes to determine how many boxes were used (I still have them stored at mom’s) and if the «long walk» charge was billed to other clients moving into The Pointe at Cedar Park.
I stand by my original review.

So basically Chris and James saved my life the other day. I was moving into Crest at Pearl, a student living apartment complex in West Campus. Crest had hired movers from another company to help all the residents move in but those guys ended up leaving right at 5 without saying a word to the residents. ALL my things were left on the sidewalk outside, along with MANY other residents’ belongings. My family had already left with our moving dollies and uhaul and went home. So I was going to have to move my mattress, bed frame, and boxes upon boxes of stuff, along with three tables! — upstairs by myself. Thankfully, the management at Crest had the sense to hire Chris and James, who happened to be doing another move in outside. They were fast, careful, and really respectful of my things! Everything was in my apt within half an hour. Def recommend

Highly recommended! I filled out the online estimate form and they promptly called me to go over the estimate and set up the date/​time, then called back a couple days before the move to reconfirm everything.
The two movers showed up on time and were very efficient, yet careful. Nothing was broken or lost, which I can’t say about other movers we used in the past. They moved the contents of our 1400 sq. ft., 2-​story home in 3 ½ hours start to finish, including assembling beds.
I hope we don’t have to move again for a long time, but I will totally use Apache again when the time comes!

Your states are so far from the truth.
That was my garage, which you move my things in there because the management messed up on when the apartment would be ready. The items that were damaged were damaged before I moved them up to my apartment and I have 2 witnesses that saw it and are willing to testify what they saw. I stated this to you and you pretty much laughed at me, I then and only then stated that I would be forced to write a bad review for the lack of responsibility your company takes, not for charging me extra to move it up stairs.
