Burger Island

They have great hamburgers ans the service is good. This is my familys hamburger treat place!

Their deep fried mushrooms are pretty good but, I think that is the only thing I would come back for every blue moon. I have tried their burgers twice and both times they were very dry and over cooked. I was also disappointed in the funnel cake fries they had an after taste to them as if they were fried in old oil that was used to fry other things. Sorry I don’t think I will be coming back a third time.

I’ve been to Burger Island probably 15 – 25 times in the last couple years. I always get a Jungle Burger, never tried any other burger there. Everything was good until about 6 months ago.
The two times that I came here before today, I noticed a decrease in quality. The hamburger patty didn’t even fill the bun, they weren’t close to the size they were in the past. The toppings that were falling off my bun in the past were hardly noticeable.
I have been avoiding this place due to my bad experiences, but a friend talked me into going here today. I really wanted the Jungle Burger to be everything that I remembered but I was let down again. The hamburger patty was the correct size and the burger had sufficient toppings, but the patty had a lot of grizzle and had a lot of parts that I could not eat. It was pretty disgusting.
After three bad visits in a row, I’m done. Time to find a new burger place.

I will never go here again. Customer service was not good, burger was still pink not fully cooked, & french fries were burnt… never again. Glad I tried it out for the first time.

Heard some pretty good things about this place and finally got to try it. I had the ½ lb. Jungle Burger, and it was loaded! The toppings were falling all over the place! Very messy, but pretty good. If it wasn’t so far, I would definitely come back for another burger (: The fries were seasoned well. I do have to say I did not enjoy the sweet potato fries very much though. They were a little plain. I’ll stick to the regular fries next time. I got a free drink for checking in (: Perks of having a Unilocal app: P
As for the service, I thought the guy at the counter was very nice and very helpful. The couple in the table behind us forgot to ask him to not put mayo on their burgers, and he ended up bringing them fresh new buns (:
Things that could be improved:
1. I asked for no jalapanos, but sure enough, they were among the many toppings on my burger. Easy to pick out though. No biggie
2. They said they ran out of honey mustard :/​
3. They had two tea dispensers with UNsweetened tea but only artificial sugar packets to sweeten it):
4. Some of the prices that were on the menu were slightly different from the one they charged us. For example, the menu says its 70 cents to add guacamole on my burger, but they were going to charge us 80 cents. Not a big difference, but just something you might want to pay attention to if you plan on buying a lot.
I don’t know when I will be back in the area, but if I find myself nearby, I’ll probably make a stop to Burger Island for another juicy burger (:

We had the Hawaiian Burger combo & Jungle Burger combo with a side of fried pickle spears. The food is absolutely amazing but the service sucks and ALL the sodas were flat! But despite that the food will keep me going back to try all the burgers.

The burger was good. The fries were good. Everything was a bit on the greasy side, and the décor could use a little help. All in all, it was a pretty good experience.
I will say, the food reminded me a lot of Chapps Café, just not as good. If I’m in Cedar Hill and hankering for a burger, I’ll probably go there rather than Burger Island.

I like Burger Island. I been here maybe 4 times since I’ve known that they were here. It has plenty of space so bring your love ones or the people you «JUST LIKE” — either way get your eat on… Today I ordered a messy burger. 1^st time for that. What do I mean– grilled this & grilled that. It was better than the plain jane– lettuce, tomato, pickle, onion-​that I aways get. It was so good.
Come support a good burger– if nothing else.

I had heard that there’s burgers were one of the best so I get in there and they didn’t even have a menu in the front they gave me a pice of paper I had order my burger plain and they went ahead and gave me it with everything wow !

I went there with my family for the first time tonight, and I am a little disappointed… in myself for not going to this place sooner! This place is the real deal if you want a lot of good food for a decent price.
I know it is called «Burger Island» and any normal person would probably order a burger from a place called burger island. However, I ordered the grilled chicken salad and I am glad I did. The awesome lady who helped us said it was good and she wasn’t lying. She just forgot to mention how big the freaking salad was!
I am pretty sure they give you a whole head of lettuce, and probably like a pound of cut up chicken. The chicken had a nice flavor to it, very different from your normal grilled chicken salad. It actually had flavor to it! Most grilled chicken salads come with the boring chicken with the «perfect» grill marks. They’re perfect grill marks because it’s prepackaged chicken! Burger Island’s chicken might not be «pretty» but damn is it good.
Oh, and they also give you a whole sliced up tomato with your salad!
Sadly, I can’t personally comment on the burger, but everyone at my table loved their burger. It’s a ½ burger that is about as big as the hand of Shaq. It looked and smelled delicious.
I’ll be going back.

I’m an emotional eater and lately I’ve been going through a lot so needless to say I’ve spent a lot of time staring at menu’s and going home usually dissatisfied with my order. I’ve since then learned to do most of my cooking at home but there’s something about a big juicy sloppy burger that I can’t resist so when I saw Burger Island’s sign I gave in to my desire to stop and ignored the fact that there was literally 4 cars in the whole parking lot and it was lunchtime. After debating over 3 very delicious sounding burgers, I decided to go with the Jungle Island Burger. I had to take a call after ordering so I went outside to my car. Within 10 minutes the cook came outside with my burger and fries and an ample amount of condiments inside. I was grateful for that. This made me say I’d return to try other menu items even if I didn’t like my burger because it’s hard to find good customer service these days and I’m big on that. I mean honestly he could have just let my burger sit there and wait for me to come back in. When I got home I realized I had 2 boxes. One small one which I opened first to reveal my fries which were packed to the rim and another huge container. I immediately thought he gave me someone else’s order or an extra order of fries or something. Imagine my astonishment when I opened the big container to find the box was so big because the BURGER WAS THAT BIG. Geez I didn’t even know they had buns that size. On top of that the beef was spilling outside of the bun, along with all the other extras that came on the sandwich. Nothing was skimped. And man oh man was it good. I’m sitting here with my stomach pressed hard against the keyboard that’s how full I am and I still have over half the burger left and half the fries. I will definitely be back and I’ll bring my brother next time. This dude usually orders triple meat on any burger wherever we go so I’m sure he’ll be in paradise when I show him this place. So glad to find a good burger joint not too far from my house. I hope they keep up the same level of service and quality after the cat’s out the bag. It won’t take long for this place to catch on. I read Jamie’s review before posting my review. I’m sorry he/​she didn’t get a chance to experience the food and voted based on service alone. I’m not discrediting her review because service is important to me too but I hope she gives them another try since we all have bad days and my experience wasn’t close to the one she encountered. It’s worth another trip back.

Now we know why this place NEVER has anyone in there. It is new to Cedar Hill, we have been wanting to try it out, little leary as there is never anybody there and the help is always standing around outside smoking. Tonight we are craving a burger, we decide it is now time to try out Burger Island. I pull up in front of the location, as stated, employee out front, directly in front of door we need to walk into, smoking… we follow her in, the other help is sitting and playing on their phones and watching a movie, the girl who walked in from smoking walks behind counter, doesn’t wash hands and just stands there, then she starts laughing, we ask her if there was a problem, she said stated NO, I am laughing at what they said, so we proceed to look at menu, she then whispers something to the other help that is sitting and playiing on phones and they whisper something back and they all are laughing, her hands are still not washed and she has yet to address us as welcome to burger island, hello how are you, NOTHING… I tried to ask a few questions about the food on menu and all she could do was laugh, I finally had enough and said maybe we need to go elsewhere and all she could do was laugh, so needless to say, I was unimpressed, understand fully why the place is completely empty, and pretty damn glad I did NOT get a chance to order because it is hard telling what they would have done to the food. I look at it like another failed food joint in Cedar Hill TX because of improperly trained people, no management on site and just plain assed rude people. I will NEVER step foot in that door again as long as it is Burger Island.

What Can I say? I have frequent the one in Irving, Tx… but when I found out there was one closer in Cedar Hill, I was Ecstatic! Burger Island has never disappointed me, the place is clean, kid friendly, and the food is just as good as the one in Irving.
I have been telling all of my family and friends about it, and they are going to try it out. I also advised them to go hungry, if not they will be taking the rest home!:-)

I loved my burger, my fries and the onion rings!!! LOVED my food. I’m a burger lover. The jalapenos on my burger were tasty too! lol Want to go back right now but I promised myself I wasn’t eating out this week. I have my co worker hooked on the philly cheese steak sandwhich they have.

Burger island is a small neighborhood burger place that offers walk up counter service. There is nothing special about the décor, or the location, but I have to say they serve a great burger. I ordered the Mushroom Swiss Burger, and of course I added bacon. I mean really… a Mushroom Swiss screams for crispy, salty, cured, pork, goodness. The beef patty was well seasoned, tasted fresh and was plenty juicy without dripping in grease. The sweet potato fries were crispy, gently sweet, and care was given to ensure they were not saturated in oil.
Iappreciated the fact that the mshrooms were fresh and not served from a can, and like the burger, well seasoned without being over done. The menu offered a number of burger choices, sandwiches, and even a vegetarian option. The only thing they didn’t do, was ask us how we wanted our burger cooked. I also noticed that the waste receptacles in the dining room really needed to be wiped down. That having been said, I would definitely go back for another burger.

Great Burger… I ordered Jungle Burger which they claim as their best seller. Awesome and huge. My girl ordered Philly Steak and sweet potato fries. It was awesome too. I am going back to this place. At last, Cedar Hill has a great burger joint where we can hang out and chill without running out of budget. They are getting ready to have shakes and desserts, too.
