I have been taking taekwondo classes for 5 years at Master Cho’s Talium and attend classes in both Cedar Grove and Fairfield. It has been a life changing experience for me. I enjoy taking classes and find the staff to be welcoming, polite and professional. They and the other students are like a 2nd family to me. I highly recommend Talium if you are looking to get in shape and have fun doing it. Great for your flexibility and self esteem as well!

This school used to be very good; many of their students were from my own child’s elementary school. Recently, parents have been grumbling about the Cedar Grove branch because the manager is not really in touch with what’s going on. Also, I thought it was very strange that they only practiced punches and kicks with mainly the right-side of the body. The incident that made me leave was that the Grand Master humiliated my child during a belt promotion while an audience of parents looked on. He said that my child was not doing sit ups correctly and yelled that he was weak. Um, my child had been going to that school for 2 years and NOONE, not one instructor ever corrected his sit ups. For TWOYEARS, the Grand Master promoted my child over and over again and never said a word about the sit ups until now? WTF? And then to use intimidation and humiliation in public to bring that point up? This school claims that encouragement and positive reinforcement are their strategies for instilling confidence in their students. Really? And one more thing, I always had a problem with one of their young instructors who had a very odd way with the children. I’ll clarify that it wasn’t sexual in any way, just that he was very gruff and abrupt with them and seemed to have no patience whatsoever. He expressed obvious exasperation when he was around kids with loud sighs and loud complaints about their behavior. Very weird. Please look for better options especially if you don’t want your child to be lop-sided.
