I placed an order to go. It was label as a family dinner. It was not a family dinner but rather a regular plate. The only thing that I guess made it a family dinner is that it had two sides of white rice. You get a small styrofoam cup of soup — we had the won-ton soup it was so-so. Very salty and no eggroll. I had called to complain and the woman that answered the call could not understand what I was trying to tell her. She thought I was placing another order for it. It was a very expensive single serving meal for over 20.00 dollars. I encourage you not to spend your money there. The food was not great but it was not terrible either. I have had better, much better elsewhere. If you live in Bastrop or Cedar Creek I would encourage you to drive into Austin and eat Chinese there.

I think this is great Chinese food. The kind you would get in a hole in the wall place in Pasadena California or Austin Texas.

Bastrop has successfully acquired 3 worst Chinese restaurants in the world. Panda Express would be the safest bet.

I really had high hopes for this place but I’m extremely disappointed. The wife and I went there one night and it took literally an hour to get our food. As I sat there I watched the other customers and I was amazed to see the staff mess up almost every single person’s order. One person ordered green tea but it was cold. Another person had to ask for silverware multiple times. A guy across from us got his dish but it had beef instead of chicken. Two people waiting for to-go orders waited for almost as long as we did. I got my food but the waitress completely forgot about the rice. It was actually pretty amazing to see this train wreck in progress and several people just gave up and left without their food. A few days later I decided to give it a try with a take out order. I figured I would order it with plenty of time and pick it up on my way home. My experience went like this: Restaurant: Hello? Me: Hi, is this Hunan Tiger? Restaurant: What? Me: Is this the number for Hunan Tiger? Restaurant: Who? Me: *sigh* Is this a restaurant? Restaurant: Yeah this a restaurant. Who this? Me: *click* So my wife and decide to try one more time tonight. We ordered an appetizer of spring rolls and they came out immediately. I thought that things were looking up. And then I bit into it. I actually thought they had wrapped it in a hard plastic at first instead of rice-paper. It was like chewing on a plastic water bottle. How long does it take a spring roll to get that stale? And since there was shrimp inside it, how long had that shrimp been sitting there? We showed the waiter how stale it was by tapping on it and listening to the *click* sound. He said he would take it back and replace it. A couple of minutes later he came back with two more. I picked it up and noticed it was very hot to the touch. It was obvious that they had just been put in the microwave! I have never ever had microwaved spring rolls! From what I know about the dish, it’s supposed to be served cool or at room temperature and not at the same temperature as a boiled hot dog. And did I mention that the lettuce was yellow instead of green? We told the waiter that we were leaving and they could keep the spring rolls. Can you believe they still charged us for our iced tea? I am completely done with that place. Maybe they can pull out of this tailspin but they need to bring in some people who have some experience running a restaurant and they need some decent employees.
