The Wizz is probably the best example of a Gift/Curio/Ecclectic shop that I have had the pleasure of finding. Over the years I have found any number of gifts, jewelry pieces, and other assorted fun bits and bobs that I still adore. They constantly have new things and are incredibly helpful if you are looking for a particular sort of something as a gift. It is always worth wandering through when you are in the area, and I still make an effort to stop by every time I pass through town. Also a great place to visit when Halloween is getting close for amazing costume ideas and those great detail accessories that make an outfit.

It’s hard to believe this place has been open for so long when they are so ridiculously rude.

If you’re going to Cedar City and you need a place to kill a couple of hours between plays(come on– lunch only lasts so long– even if you go for ice cream afterwards), I highly recommend stopping in at The Wizz. It’s the strangest little store to find plopped in the heart of conservative Mormon country, where you expect to find outlets for arts and crafts, cooking, scrapbooking, sewing, etc., and you will. But step through the door of the Wizz and you’re through the looking glass. They carry all sorts of things which I can’t really list because the inventory is constantly changing, but they stock oils and incense, body jewelry, some(hippie-style) clothes, hats, purses, etc., toys, picture frames, knickknacks, your occasional lava lamp; you get the picture. You will probably find something you can’t live without, but it’s fun just to look. They’ve been there for years, but I’m not sure who their demographic is during the off-season. Perhaps those students at Southern Utah have a secret wild side. Gives us all hope!
