Senior Placement Services is a no-​cost service, that helps seniors and their families who are making critical lifestyle changes find the very best possible assisted living situation based on physical, mental, emotional, spiritual and financial needs.

History

Established in 2008.

Joy Lovinger started this business after she moved her mother here from Florida and was at a loss for viable resources.

Meet the Business Owner

In 2000, Joy brought her mother who had been diagnosed with Alzheimers, to California to live with her. There weren’t a lot of options available so she kept her at home until that was no longer feasible.

In 2005, Joy became certified in Senior Peer Counseling and in 2007, worked as the marketing director for a large assisted living facility. She then became a licensed RCFE Administrator and founded Senior Placement Service, where she helps find assisted living for seniors who can no longer live on their own. In 2013 Joy earned her Gerontology Certification from Sonoma State.

Joy is an appointed member of the Sonoma County Area Aging Advisory Council, a member of the JCC’s Friendship Circle Advisory Council, chair of the Petaluma Senior Care Connection and a volunteer driver for the Sebastopol Senior Center. She also chairs a committee exploring housing options for Sonoma County and was the impetus for SHARE, currently the only home share program in the county.
