Love this place as much as ever. The people who work there are just so incredibly friendly, and the smoked salmon is incredible! They were super accommodating as far as my allergies are concerned, and I love that they are right there on the beach so I can enjoy my food with a great view! Highly recommend.

Sadly, they no longer have smoked oysters, but the food here is still great! Had the smoked albacore sandwich — SO good! And the sandwich was big enough to share. If you’re lucky enough to snag a table, you can buy a beer from the corner store & just have lunch there. Otherwise eat by the beach.

Lovely little taco shack. Being right next to the beach was wonderful because I could order my taco and then walk down and sit in the sand to enjoy it. I had the smoked salmon taco. I am a huge fan of smoked salmon, but this didn’t seem smoked very long. Don’t get me wrong the meat was tender and delicious, and the apple bits and celery gave it a wonderful crunch as well as the apple adding a nice sweetness to compliment the garlic ailoi. I just wouldn’t personally call it a ‘smoked’ salmon taco. Otherwise very delicious!

Ok. You might be tempted to order any of the tacos on this guys menu board, but don’t. Instead you should just order about ten of the smoked shrimp tacos, they were that frickin good.
While the ahi tacos we had were still decent, the shrimp tacos blew our minds. Deliciously smoked with a refreshing mix of greens in a warm grilled tortilla. Go no further Unilocalers.
Also, service inside was great. The place was slammed and the guys inside were very nice, respectful and had great service.

Best Fish Taco I’ve ever had.
Worth stopping by for a quick meal while watching the waves roll in. I’m actually sad I’m not staying in town so I could eat it again later.

BEST TACOS EVER. This is not an exaggeration. I spend a lot of time (arguably too much) researching taco places to try. I’ve never had tacos like these before. If you are on the Central Coast, these are worth a special trip. Very unusual and tasty garnish as well as flavorful meat. They’re more known for their fish tacos but I gotta say their chicken was sublime.

A little shanty by the beach where you can grab a taco or sandwich with smoked fish or chicken. I had the smoked salmon taco, which was pretty good but a little too much veggies and not enough of the salmon for me. $ 6 for a taco that is basically a meal. Outdoor seating only. Friendly staff. Very convenient to the beach.

My sister had been here before and wanted to go back for the ultimate tuna sandwiches so we swung by to grab some lunch. Got there right when it opened at 11AM.
We ordered 2 Smoked Albacore and 1 Smoked Salmon sandwiches to-​go. Each $ 12.50 a piece. The sandwich had some apples, celery, and carrots mixed inside and came with a pickle on the side. They were pretty big sandwiches that it filled up 4 of us. It was a little messy to eat, but I definitely enjoyed the smoked albacore more than the salmon as the meat was nice and light.
If you’re in the Cayucos area, you should check it out! It’s a one-​of-​a-​kind. Next time, I’ll have to try their tacos.

I only gave it four stairs because I have yet to try it all there but if it’s anything like that tacos if definitely will be a 5 star. We got tacos for a quick snack. Ahi and albacore. I enjoyed the freshness of the apple celery Pico mix it was a pleasantly good change in a taco and tasted great. The fish chunks were huge and they hate a great smoke flavor to them. The tacos also were a very good size.
The place itself is a small spot hanging right off the beach. Perfect view for a bite of food. Gentlemen in there were really nice and food came out fast maybe 5 mins for 3 tacos. Thanks guys will be back to try some more!

We were quite impressed by this place! We ordered a salmon sandwich, ahi tuna taco, albacore taco, and veggie taco. First off, they give generous portions so it was toooo much food! We liked the salmon and albacore best. Flavor was very good (especially considering I don’t really like smoked fish).
The veggie taco is not recommended though (it’s lettuce, celery, olives, and apples … was thinking roasted our grilled veggies), and they do overdo the veggies toppings on all the tacos and sandwiches IMO. Still definitely recommend though — we would just ask for light veggies next time!

HEY Unilocal I’M ALIVE. :)
A friend and I stopped here in Cayucos on our way back to Los Angeles from Big Sur. It’s such a cute little town. Ruddell’s Smokehouse is right on the beach and it’s bustling with people. A smoked albacore taco was $ 6, but it’s like worth it because it’s a huge taco. The taco itself comes with lettuce and fruit! It tastes super fresh and healthy.
Wait for the taco itself took maybe 10 minutes, but it’s def worth it. I don’t know what I expected, but I was really satisfied.
Also, the beach across the street is a great place to enjoy your tacos, as long as you don’t get sand in them lols.

Outstanding fish tacos! The BEST! Period! And very friendly service to boot! Grab a bite and watch the surf! A perfect way to end the day! Take the extra trek north of Morro Bay to have a taste! You won’t regret it!
