Captain Drake’s Family Aerial adventures is a unique business that provides the following services: flight training for the sport pilot airplane and glider certificates, bed and breakfast style lodging (without the breakfast of course), we also arrange special adventures such as river float trips and such.

History

Established in 2012.

As a small child growing up on an airfield with smokejumpers and pilots as my role models, I was always connected to the aviation world. I learned how to fly ultralights first, but I already knew that becoming a certified flight instructor was what I wanted to do. Learning to fly General aviation aircraft and earning pilot certificates sucked. Not the flying itself but the silly and often borderline criminal/​shifty way flight training is carried out today. I envisioned a better way. I wanted to remove the problems and stumbling blocks and put fun back into the program. Aviation is FUN! That’s why we do it. Nobody «needs» to fly. We do it because it is an awesome adventure. So I designed my flight training system to be fun. I build the highest quality pilots in less time while providing them with the unique Captain Drake’s experience. I provide my clients with an adventure vacation experience including housing at my beautiful hill top lodge.

I’m a natural born instructor. I love to teach physical skills. I’d be a horrible employee and sometimes joke that I’m not just unemployed but I’m unemploy-​able. I’m a very passionate human being and I’m driven to share my gift with the world. People come to my business to learn to fly but often what they learn is to live with passion! Follow your dreams because life is about the journey. Running this unique little flight school and training students is my dream and I’m living it.
