The ice cream was good… however I had to eat it very quickly on the cone. It was very watery and melted very quickly… as soon as she put it in my hand it was all down my hand… sprinkles and all. Kind of hard to clean up with no bathroom or sink to wash up. Thankful that the girl gave me a cup full of water to work it out. Prices were good though and location is good.

What a treat on a hot day! Tucked away on Nunnery Ln., you could easily pass this location if there weren’t a small sign on the corner. Small gravel parking lot, there are hardly any crowds from what I have noticed. They have the traditional snow cone and soft serve ice cream, chocolate dipped too. You can’t go wrong. All I need is a kids chocolate cone to make me feel like a kid again. Just an FYI cash only, small bills are preferred.

We were pumped when this location opened up last year in our neighborhood. Staff is very friendly and the wait is never long. Parking can get tight but ive been there on busy days and always found a space. Great ice cream! Friendly people and a cool spot to hang w/the fam in the summer

Nice to see a local business take over a quiet old building BUT, the ice cream portions served here are unbelievably tiny compared to other local ice cream stands. $ 3 for a small sunday with hot fudge and wet nuts got me something half the size of what I’ve received at the other Opie’s location and much smaller than I could get at McDonalds for $ 1.00. Is this because there’s too much adult supervision at Opie’s East? I don’t know. What I do know is that it was a sad sunday. There wasn’t much ice cream in that little cup and the toppings were sparsely applied. I left Opie’s East today $ 3 poorer, with my ice cream craving barely fixed, resolved not to return.

There’s a new Opie’s on the block. About a week or so ago, this second location of the Catonsville sno-ball and soft-serve ice cream institution popped up in what used to be a vacant insurance office, and long before that a video rental store. They’re serving up the same stuff, not surprisingly. It’s a walk-up window for the usual syrupy, icy staples of which Baltimore summers are made. Vanilla and chocolate soft-serve on tap, with a choice of toppings. Hopefully, if they’re around next season, they’ll put some improvements into the location, clean up the parking lot, and make it as friendly as the original stand further west.
