Zobo & Meester’s

Saturday errands took us near Zobo & Meester’s which we somehow had not tried. We remembered they had Saturday BBQ and though it was after 12:30, took a chance they might still have some. I went inside for takeout while David and the dogs waited in the car. As I waited for my turn to order, I asked a man who looked like the manager if they still had BBQ. They did! So home we went with two-​meat plates.
We spent five years in Texas, so it is with some authority that we say Z&M serves excellent BBQ. I had brisket and pulled pork. The brisket was exceptional — moist and full of flavor. A bit fatty but that is not a complaint, just an observation — I ate every bite. The pork was good as well, flavorful, not dry. David had brisket and chicken thighs, which were also very good, moist and tasty. We both had beans and potato salad. The potato salad was good, not particularly noteworthy. The beans were also good, though I found the flavor a bit odd, less smoky than usual and with some flavor I didn’t recognize. We were among the last orders that day to get the free peach cobbler with our meals. You might not expect much for a free dessert, but it was very good as well. What a great place. The restaurant is charming and the people were very nice.
I’ve been wanting to try Cat City 4-​way since I first read about this place months ago. After this experience, I think it’s a must for next weekend.

My new fav spot. Clean, great service and a brilliant menu with a great variety of yummy items to choose from. Try the Chicken and waffles for sure… and there’s not been one sandwich that has disappointed me yet.

I am in town this week on business and my colleagues and I were looking for a quick local place to grab lunch. We were all pleasantly surprised by this gem. Everyone had sandwiches and different sides and we all enjoyed our lunches. I had the Gobbler panini, which had amazing sage cream cheese and cranberry spreads, which made the sandwich. If we were here for longer we would definitely come back. A must try!

Passionate owners and thoughtful dishes. I stopped by with my mother initially and feel in love right away. Fresh meals and really great chicken and waffles. I recently ordered catering for my office and the staff loved the pulled pork sandwiches. I highly recommend giving them a try, you won’t be disappointed!

Best blue cheese dressing EVER. I have tried a few things here, but I keep coming back for the wedge salad and the made from scratch blue cheese dressing. I can’t get enough of it. They do a good to go business here and they have some out of the ordinary items. Stop by for breakfast or lunch, and on Saturdays if you have a hankering for BBQ. Yummy.

Went for the Cubano sandwich, and it was AWESOME! The habanero chili was most tasty, and they make it as hot as you want…
Everything looked good!

Had the roast beef breakfast panini again. Still needs Thousand island dressing, IMHO. Cubano lunch panini is very good.

Excellent food. Fresh recipes for traditional sandwiches. Privateliy owned, friendly service. Prices are higher than fast food, and in line with better restaurants.
The menu is limited. Substitutions not recommended. Don’t let the location fool you. Located one block north of hwy 111, behind city hall.

I am thrilled each time someone steps up and offers the valley fresh creative food. So far so good. I’ve only been once for lunch and I really liked the Zobo burger and potato salad. The true text is consistency. I’ll review again on the next visit. Fingers crossed. Wishing them success.

I had the pleasure of dining here recently. It’s amazing. Everything is super fresh and the menu items are creative. I had the Cuban sandwich and it was super tasty. Friend had the chicken and waffles. Decadent! Place is super clean, spotless. I saw the salads and they were huge and looked fantastic. Owner was present and asked everyone if they were enjoying their meals. Not a fine dining atmosphere but sure was fine food!

The meaty. seasoned ribs fall off the bone, the sauce is scrumptious and comes in different spice levels. The sides are fabulous. Very welcoming. clean and cheerful. See you soon.

I’ve only tried Zobo & Meester’s once, and I thoroughly enjoyed the Italian sandwich and potato salad. Great flavors, great textures, and fresh. I’ll definitely be back!
Also, they have a very modern online ordering system that allows you to select your items and side dishes, pay online, and just walk-​in and pickup your lunch! This is ideal for the many offices and businesses in this industrial area of Cathedral City. Great job!

Oh my gosh, delish and my new favorite sandwich and salad spot. The Gobbler panini was yummy and the fries hot and crunchy. The flame thrower had just the right amount of heat. The small beet salad was set off nicely with the dressing. If you are visiting or a local this place is a definite stop for lunch. I cannot wait to try a different sandwich. Wonderful food for a fair price. Oh I cannot forget the staff as they are genuinely nice people. My new place to take my girlfriends.

Excellent tasting food! I had the American on a onion bagel. I was able to switch the cheese to cheddar which made it that much better. My little one picked out an almond poppy seed muffin which she loved and my husband had The Scramble which smelled amazing and tasted even better!
Inside was very clean and the gals working there were very friendly. Only reason I didn’t give 5 stars was because I waited a little while before someone came to help us.
We will definitely return!

We went to Zobo based on the Unilocal reviews. Been here with partner and friends three times now, and I have to say the food is quite a surprise. «Fast and fresh» is the motto and it’s accurate, but they could add «delicious» without exaggerating. So far the gang and I have had the Roundup, the Roasted Beet Salad, a simple bagel and cream cheese, the Cubano, the Cat City 4-​Way Chili, french fries, a basic bacon & egg breakfast, and the Flame Thrower — all consistently good at crazy-​affordable prices. One of my pals who doesn’t normally gush said the Roundup was the best panini he’d ever had.
It’s hard to believe this place can make a profit at the low prices they charge, but I guess volume is the strategy. The fries are exceptional — double-​fried so they’re crispy outside and soft inside. The Cat City 4-​Way Chili is an intriguing riff on a regional dish from Cincinnati that’s kind of a cult item but very hard to find outside Ohio — basically chili spaghetti. We spoke with the owner on first visit and learned that he makes all the sauces and dressings himself, and it shows. The orange vinagrette dressing the roasted beet salad was great. It’s easy to recommend this place but tempting not to from sheer selfishness — we like that we can get in and out fairly quickly, which won’t be the case once it’s discovered!

Great food at a great price! I can’t wait until I am back in the area so that I can stop by here again.
I had an awesome breakfast burrito — make sure you get the salsa on the side — it is amazing.

It’s an ok space and the people are super friendly and nice. My only comment/​suggestion is the Oink-​Oink sandwich, it needs more meat. It was very light in the ham department.
I’ll give it another try, the chicken and waffles looked good on the other table.

Loved the fresh menu! Breakfast, Panini, sandwiches & salads I had the fresh beet salad with orange vinaigrette dressing, and had to have the grilled chicken! It was sooooo yummy… my husband had the chicken Caesar salad and almost licked the container it came in!
The place is so cute and prices are soooo reasonable!

Pretty happy with the experience. It is almost out of place in this semi industrial area, as the ambiance is as upscale and trendy as a sandwich shop can get.
The quality of the sandwiches was good. Generous portions, friendly service, and the tomato soup is excellent. I will be coming back and trying some more of the food here. I rated this place a four, but if my experience remains good and I try some other sandwiches and they are as good or better than what I’ve had so far, I may decide to adjust up to five stars. We’ll see.
Plus, John Barrowman likes this place. That’s good enough for me. ^_^
