Specialties
Each item from Spoiled Rotten Vinegar & Stuck-Up Jam is handcrafted in small batches with seasonal and primarily local ingredients from the bay area and northern coast.
Following old world traditions of fermentation and preserving we specialize in a variety naturally fermented vinegar and «soured» vegetables like sauerkraut, kimchi, and an array of pickles.
Our jams, jellies and preserves are naturally made without added pectin using seasonal fruits in their peak of season to make favorite traditional flavors as well as some unique twists.
History
Established in 2012.
As a professional chef for many years I focused on working closely with the seasons choosing the best ingredients and simply not disguising or abusing them.
My personal interests were in the history of food; it’s creation and reasons for the particular practices of preserving, curing and fermenting. The restaurant was the perfect place to play and allow patrons to experience my creations although my home and family were not strangers to my concoctions.
In 2012 I began to sell some of my jams and vinegar through Entropy the Shop, my wife’s shop on Etsy. In 2013 I left my professional career to be a stay-at-home daddy to my youngest, Elliott Ocean which although was a bigger job than I expected allowed me to devote more time to creating an actual business and product line out of my passions.
From a small hobby I have been able to nurture my business with the help of the SF Etsy Team, BAHM (Bay Area Homemade Market), Berkley Student Food Collective and Local Take.
Thanks to all!
Meet the Business Owner
Klee P.
Business Owner
From childhood to adulthood I have always found a soulful nurturing from playing and working with my hands. From the days of helping my grandmother in her kitchen to my first job and professional training I have always worked and played with food.
In 2009 I was reacquainted with a high school friend, Cherie who would become my wife. Enriching my life with friendship, love and encouragement I entered into some of the best years of my life where I am a proud father of Elliott, Noah, Bailey and Kinsey (to appeal to your imagination some of these are my step children).
I am a partner with my wife of Entropy the Shop on Etsy. The birthplace of my own business it is an eclectic collection of vintage finds and original interior designs and home décor elements created by my wife, Cherie Marcel.
Through the help and support of family, friends and customers I continue to move forward putting imagination and good food into jars hoping to create memories and fun for those who open them.
