Dr. Yazdi has been providing safe and effective dental care in Castro Valley for over 14 years. Dr. Yazdi is a graduate of the world renowned dental doctorate program at University of California Los Angeles (UCLA 1994) and furthermore the post-​doctoral pediatric residency program at UCLA (1996).

Striving to maintain a high standard of care for my patients my intent is that all professional care delivered at my office will be of the best possible quality my staff and I can provide for each patient. Efforts are made to obtain cooperation from children by the use of warmth, friendliness, persuasion, humor, gentleness, kindness, and understanding. We are a full service office and if sedation is desired we are well equipped to provide that for you. Personally, I enjoy building, flying, crashing, and repairing radio control airplanes and helicopters. I also enjoy sprinting at the local track, swimming, and ball room dancing with my wife Cassandra.

My 1.5 year old daughter had her 1st appointment here.
She loved the play area, and the office staff was great.
1st we saw a tech who we discussed any questions/​concerns, then flossed/​brushed her teeth, of couse she cried, then we saw Dr. Mullen whom did a more thorough exam and did a flouride tx… Still cried.
Nothing against the staff, I’m sure dealing with toddler teeth is no easy task. Needless to say, she’s been letting me floss and brush her teeth since.
Definitely recommend, even for the littlest patient

We saw Dr Yazdi recently to fix our son’s severe tongue and lip tie. He was absolutely fantastic and I would highly recommend him.
He saw us extremely quickly — the very next day. He was also able to do the assessment and procedure in the same appointment (which was really great since it’s quite a drive for us to get there.) He does the procedure with laser, which is nice because there is less bleeding than cutting.
His office staff was extremely helpful and thorough, and the doctor himself was wonderful. Very thorough, and extremely caring and supportive, with excellent after-​care.

This review is not for Dr. Yazdi but his office staff. We needed to get an opinion for my son for braces and it took several weeks to get an appointment with a lot of back and forth. After seeing the orthodontist Dr. Kim, I sent x-​rays to get her opinion and did not receive a response after waiting over a week. I am uncertain if the staff shared the information with her but throughout the communication was spotting or non-​existent. I have heard good things about the Doctors however with a front office that is unable to help a potential client it would not be a place I would want to bring my business to.

Recently switched my son here for dentistry. Scheduling the appointment was easy and my son loved it! He had a procedure done at a previous dentist that made him a big nervous about dentist visits but he did great here. He keeps talking about the arcade and games. No more anxiety about going to the dentist!

This was my first time to Dr. Yazdi. My son had a fall yesterday. His front tooth broke from the roots. We were lucky that Dr. Yazdi was able to to squeeze him in after lunch. The office staff was very friendly and gentle with my 4 year old. They have a nice game room to help the kids relax and have a fun time at the dentist office. Dr. Yazdi explained and guide us through the entire process while we were there. This was my first time visiting this office but Dr. Yadzi made me feel like I have been a longtime patient of his. He was very patient and let us know what all of our options are. He had his staff call several oral surgeons in the area to try to squeeze us in today. Excellent customer service. He truly went above and beyond to help us. I will bring my son and daughter here from now on and recommend Dr. Yadzi to all my family and friends.

My kids LOVE coming here!!! We see Dr. Shirin Mullen and she’s WONDERFUL! I can’t say that enough. Everyone is so friendly which makes my kids extremely comfortable. They really take their time with them if they are a little hesitant. They even let my son touch the dental tools to get him more comfortable before using them on him. Ashley was our hygenist and she put both of my boys at ease.
It’s also great that if you have more than 1 kid they can come in together which saves us a lot of time.
Extra stars for the fun game room that they kids get to go to after each visit.
I highly recommend this place, you won’t be disappointed.

I was referred to Dr Yazdi to get my daughters tongue and lip tie released. I have to admit it made me nervous as she was only a week old. However I had a wonderful experience. The staff were polite and professional, the office was clean, and the procedure was quick and pretty much painless. Dr Yazdi was professional, patient, thorough, and amazingly gentle with my newborn. So gentle she didn’t cry after having her tongue or lip tie released. Best of all now I can feed her pain free and she’s a breastfeeding champ thanks to him. I’d definitely recommend him anytime.

This review is well over due, my daughter has been coming to Dr. Yazdi for over a year now and I cannot express how happy we are we found this office. the staff is super friendly, office is clean and modern and comfortable for everyone, your kids will love coming to the dentist. your little ones will get treated at the end and can enjoy the arcade area set up for them, also the parents can have a little fun as well and enjoy a 15 minute massage chair my favorite. LOL.
Hats off to the entire staff for doing such a great job and making it a great experience. I would definitely recommend this dental office to anyone.

Just came for my son’s actual dentist appt. the office moral is still as awesome as it was! Our hygienist was amazing and totally understanding! She was being silly with our little guy who was super apprehensive.
Dr Yazdi was quick and super friendly about our little guys oral exam. For your first dentist, bring your littles here! They give them their own dental bag and a coin to go to the arcade!
My son is too little to play but got a bouncy ball! It’s all to make these little nervous kiddos know that the dentist isn’t scary and can be fun!

As a health professional I direct clients toward Dr yazdi’s care over and over again because the results do not lie. Dr. Yazdi provides a clean and careful release for tongue and lip adhesions. He corrects the half done work of other professionals in his field, and I have yet to see a release from him that doesn’t address the normal function of the lip or tongue.
If I was seeking out care for my own child I would never accept a referral anywhere else. See the best, get it done right and then move on to the more enjoyable parts of parenting.

I brought my daughter in based on a recommendation of an amazing local lactation specialist who confirmed that lip and tongue ties were causing latch issues and major discomfort during breastfeeding.
The office was easy to get to, clean, and staffed with friendly people.
Dr. Yazdi was very professional, but also very personable. He took a look at our newborn and gave use his opinion and options whether we chose to go through with the procedure or not. He was not a salesman. You can quickly see that he chose this profession because he loves what he does. We felt very safe with having him be the one to do the procedure for our two week old. He was quick, but very thorough. He encouraged us to help hold and soothe our baby during the procedure, and allowed me to nurse immediately after. The went over the after care in great detail and scheduled a follow-​up appointment with us to make sure that she was healing well. I couldn’t be more satisfied!

Dr. Yazdi was amazing, we just had our daughter’s frenectomy yesterday. She’s 6 weeks old and needed a lip tie surgery and tongue tie revision surgery. Our IBLC at Kaiser recommended him on the sly and then I read really positive reviews here. Kaiser was not helpful with lactation and TT issues, but Dr. Yazdi was great. He’s expensive for out of pocket, but I agree with others that it’s totally worth it. I will take our daughter all the way to Castro Valley for dental work (from Walnut Creek) when she gets older, he’s worth it. I trust him.

Went into their office today with both my kids and I was so impressed at how attentive they were. The office was spotless and decorated so perfect. The hygienist had wonderful manners and made you part of your childs teeth care. I highly recommend them.

If you are going to him if you suspect your child is tongue tied I beg you get a second opinion please!!! He told me he needed his tongue and upper lip done and after getting two more opinions they both said it was absolutely not necessary, this guy only cares about making money when we went for a consult he pressured us to get the procedure done right then and made us feel like we were crappy parents if we didn’t! I’m not saying that your child might not need it but please get another opinion dr wesman at Oakland children’s hospital is an expert

my 4 yr old daughter loves going in this dental clinic. everyone is just so good at what they are doing. they are very good in making you feel comfortable, they will listen to you and listen to your child as well. they entertain and teach. i love it here.
even my niece (7) and nephew (2) whom i referred loves the clinic as well. the whole place is clean. the children will definitely love it. try and see for yourself :)

Highly recommend Dr. Yazdi and his staff for an infant frenectomy! I brought my 16 week old in for a tongue and lip tie. The whole process from start to finish went really well. Prior to the treatment, my baby was not nursing, he was taking Zantac for acid reflux, he had to sleep upright, he had a lot of gas and overall he was extremely fussy. The frenectomy has fixed everything! I cannot thank them enough!

Today was my son’s first dental visit. SERIOUSLY the BEST staff I have ever encountered as soon as we walked through the door. Dr. Mullen is my sons dentist and yes my daughter will definitely be coming here on her next dental visit. The receptionist, the dental assistant, Dr. Mullen and Dr. Yazdi were all so friendly and informative. Amazing people and work very well with children. I am so happy i found this place on my dental insurance site.
I brought my daughter along with us. They gave her a Little Mermaid and floss so she would’t feel left out. The fact that she’s excited for her appointment here in six months after her horrible experience at Youthful tooth (her old dentist place) is pretty amazing. She saw what an amazing experience her brother had and how sweet everyone is.

Dr Yazdi has very good bedside manners and was a pleasure to work with. Genuinely caring person who took his time and made sure we were comfortable.
Overall, our daughter’s double frenectomy turned out great. There was an issue with the billing that was resolved after a few back and forths, but that was more an issue wth the accounting staff than Dr. Yazdi.

Back when my daughter was only a month old, we went to Dr. Yazdi to clip her tongue tie and lip tie. At this time I had a VERY colicky and uncomfortable baby and every time we left the house I would be terrified that she would scream the entire time. She usually did everytime we went to Dr. Yazdi’s, but the staff was always very nice about her screaming bloody murder.
Rebecca H. and our LC, Lisa Meyer-​Jones both recommended Dr. Yazdi after each of them diagnosed Ava’s tongue and lip tie. It was very dissapointing that it was not discovered by anyone at Kaiser or the LCs that work for Kaiser. If it was discovered earlier I feel like our nursing relationship would have been very different.
But I digress.
We immediately went to Dr. Yazdi and he cut her ties. It was quick and easy, but hard to watch my baby struggle. I noticed a difference in her eating right after and while it didn’t solve all of our problems it certainly helped.
I have talked with a few other moms whose children have had ties and cut by different doctors and dentists and none were advised on the exercises you must perform in order to prevent new skin from growing back. Even though I hated having my daughter cry while I stuck my fingers in her mouth to do the exercises, I knew that if the skin grew back Dr. Yazdi would be very dissapointed in us! The follow up care is really important and I have not heard of others offering what Dr. Yazdi does.
It was easy to deal with the insurance and we were reimbursed fairly quickly. It was not a cheap procedure, but necessary.
I would not hesitate to recommend Dr. Yazdi to other parents who are dealing with tongue and lip tie issues.
