Goddess Hair Extensions & Replacement

Buyers Beware!
I am reviewing Goddess Hair Extensions located in downtown Walnut Creek:
Sheila is a scam artist! Not only is she disorganized, and appears disheveled, you will be lucky if she shows up to your appointment at all! My first appointment I waited close to 3 hours for her to go and buy the hair in Oakland!
I paid close to $ 1,000 for hair pieces to be sloppily placed (not linear at all) — AS SHEILA IS NOT A LICENSED COSMETOLOGIST! However, I did have more hair, so I almost forgave the long wait time and dirty work environment that she works in (with no sanitizer anywhere and her cigarette smelling hands touching my hair!) She does not even wash her hands after smoking, between clients, let alone clean her tools between clients!!!
However, my hair pieces (which are essentially clip in hair pieces that she beads onto your hair) began to droop (WEEK ONE) — so I called her and had to get them fixed. I told her that charging this much for extensions, I would think they would last a bit longer than a week without having to drive an hour to get them fixed, at which time she blamed ME FOR «sleeping on them the wrong way»!!!
Long story short, my next appointment to «fix them» was in 2 ½weeks, to which she was an hour late to the appointment claiming she couldn’t find her car keys… So I waited… What choice did I have? My hair was dropping down with missing beads. She still charged me for moving them up dispute my horrible experience thus far, and just continues to blame sleeping habits.
My next appointment was confirmed by her and I was found waiting outside of her office space for an hour, after I had already driven an hour to get there. She was a NO-​SHOW! When she finally responded, she claims she forgot what day it was and had been asleep for 2 days??! Say what??! Who runs a business like this!!!
So Finally, I went back to my hair dresser who colors my hair (as Sheila isn’t licensed to color or cut hair) and she forced me to take out the «hokey extensions» as she called them and told me that when blow drying and styling my hair, the silicone inside of the bead that Sheila uses had melted in many spots and created a terrible residue that had to be combed out of my hair (which was matted by her methods of moving up the beads multiple times instead of replacing the beads!!!). My organized and professional hair dresser had nothing to gain by insisting I leave with dreadful short hair, except trying to salvage any healthy hair I had left after this horrible extension method!
So Buyers Beware! If Sheila shows up to your appointment at all, she will take your money, scam you into thinking that she created this method (silicone beads– which are available online for about $ 3.00 for hundreds of them) and you will be graced with the presence of a sweaty, smoker who is unkempt, and works in a filthy space with tools used on everyone without proper sanitation– hopefully she didn’t share lice with her clients!!!
I’m disappointed that I allowed myself to waste my money to ruin my hair further!

At first, it seems that Sheila is a God sent and she makes your hair dreams come true. I came in desperate to address my thinning hair and to have longer fuller locks. She recommended the integration system along with 18″ extensions. (Total cost appx $ 2,200, plus another $ 400 later for more hair and appx $ 200 in upkeeps within 2 months) At first, the integration piece felt wiggy. I loved how it looked, but felt weird on my head. She assured me that it was like wearing a little hat and that I would eventually get used to it and would hardly notice it. A month passed and I went back in for a touch up, she adjusted both the integration piece and my extensions, but didn’t wash my hair or styled or anything for that matter. I was surprised to find out that she didn’t have a sink in her little tiny room she rents in Castro Valley, but i dealt with it and didn’t question it. (i was still happy with the way my hair looked).
Within 2 days of my 1^st touch up, my extensions started sliding off, and I was not happy. She was vacationing in Hawaii and suggested another stylist she knew to do a quick fix– which i did. It was at this time that my 30 day nightmare began. I was in between the 1^st touch up and the 2^nd touch up scheduled for a month later. I felt like I was welcomed to hell. My scalp started itching like crazy, I developed this horrible bumps and a rash on my scalp around the lining of my face, (it felt horrible, I cried from the pain every night).
The worst part of all of this was that I kept on telling her how miserable i felt and in turn she blamed me. She said that I was sleeping wrong, that I was not pulling my hair back in a low pony tail at night correctly. At some point, she sent me a text message, which read «what do you expect?». Honestly, most of the time I felt intimated to even mention anything to her, she was very defensive, always blamed me and got very irritated with me if I mentioned anything that was wrong. (i felt as helpless as a woman stuck in an abusive relationship). I wanted my hair to look beautiful so bad, that i was willing to put up with anything. My scalp’s condition worsen, it got to the point that I was trying to scratch all day and night that i could not sleep. The most frustrating part was that I couldn’t even scratch because the integration piece was in the way. I got a chop stick and started carrying around to relief the itch thru the tiny holes in between the extensions.
On my 2^nd touch up appointment, I told her how horrible I felt, I told her that my extensions were bothering me and that they really hurt. Nothing was done. She never washed my hair, nor removed the piece. She simply lifted it a bit, added a bit of dry shampoo and smashed my natural hair down and replaced the integration piece. It was so tight, it pulled on my scalp and continued to hurt me even more. My rash worsen! I knew at this time I had to face reality stop my services with her and face the possibility of a horror day by taking the extensions out as well as the integration piece. In 2 months, I was out almost $ 3k and was left feeling like I had been ripped off, but in any case I just dealt with my loss. I emailed her and told her I did not need her services anymore and didn’t tell her why. I felt that if I mentioned it, she would have blown me off just like before and wouldn’t have done anything to fix the issues I was dealing with. Sheila has no professional demeanor, doesn’t care about her clients, just how much $$ she is going to pocket at whatever cost. She never did ask me why I didn’t need her services anymore, she simply replied via a text message and said «ok, thanks for letting me know». That was it! I hope she had fun in Hawaii at my expense. I’ve since had both the integration piece and my extensions removed, it has been about 1 month now. My hair was in such a horrible state when the pieces came off. It was matted, dreaded, a complete disaster. The stylist who removed them told me that if i had just kept them in another month or so, my hair would have been in complete dreads, I would have been looking at shaving my head. I was faced with the worst hair nightmare of my life dealing with this outcome. I am very sorry and disappointed I ever allowed this woman to touch my hair.

First, the positives: I think Sheila has a good heart and means well but can’t see that her products/​system don’t work for everyone. The hair she sold me was gorgeous, and she has excellent craftsmanship. However, I’m too afraid of further damage to wear it, so I’m pretty sure I just threw $ 2000 down the drain!
Sheila told me that her «Integration System» is an innovative break-​through in the field of hair, that no one else is doing it, and that one of the qualities that distinguishes it from other systems is that it doesn’t damage your hair. In fact, she told me many of her clients’ hair is stronger and healthier once they remove their pieces.
Unfortunately, this was not the case with me. I was very uncomfortable ²⁴⁄₇ while wearing the piece. It pulled at my scalp and gave me red bumps, irritation, and dandruff. Sheila claimed that never happened on its own and attributed it to scratching. I swore on my life I did not scratch, and she responded that I was probably scratching in my sleep and didn’t realize it. Hmm … I’m going to stick with the «tiny-​rings-​pulling-​constantly-​at-​my-​hair» explanation.
When I shared my worries with Sheila, she converted my piece to a clip-​on for $ 75 extra. She made it seem like she was doing me a favor; however, since the system I originally purchased less than a week prior had been $ 1895, and the clip-​on piece on its own is $ 1100, I feel I should have been REFUNDED rather than charged more! I would have happily paid a labor cost for the initial work and then the conversion, but even then, it wouldn’t have amounted to the $ 800 difference.
The clip-​on piece pulled at my hair, too, so I decided to go all-​natural. When I showered for the first time without the piece, I noticed damage. Clumps of my natural hair came out in the shower, and it overall looks thinner and weaker. Even accounting for the fact that the average person loses 100 strands of hair every day, my hair still looks markedly unhealthier after just one week with the system. I’m glad I stopped when I did, and I’m sure my hair will grow back, but it’s definitely not something I recommend doing long-​term if you already have thin hair. When I told Sheila what I observed, she negated my experience and seemed irritated with me.
In addition, I completely agree with the other reviewer that Sheila totally lacks business skills, which is likely why she hasn’t expanded past a small business even with her revolutionary product and notable skills. She was running an hour late for both my consultation and my follow-​up appointment and was very scattered and had to run out to the car multiple times for missing materials. Her space is very messy and disorganized. She also talks nonstop, and I was mentally exhausted after spending five hours with her the day I got my piece.
I would definitely be happier and up my rating if I got some of my money back. I’m happy to resell the piece at a lower cost or just get back the difference between the integration system and the clip-​on piece. As is, having spent nearly $ 2000 for something I used for one week, I feel like I was ripped off.

Sheila did an amazing job on my hair. Prior to my consultation, I was a bit worried. I have always worn my hair short, shorter then an average bob cut. I was worried about how comfortable the extensions would feel, how natural they would end up looking and also the comfort level. Sheila did an amazing job on my hair. When I went to her I had a literal boy cut and she added over 12 inches of human hair. It looked amazing. My hair was so short on top it was a challenge to keep it down but she maintained and was able to do it. I received tons of compliments and hope to return soon. She also has a great personality, definitely not a bad thing if you are sitting and having your hair done for a few hours.
