Very professional, courteous & excellent. One of our places needed to be troubleshooted. A previous electrician our tenant had said there is a problem and it will need a $ 500 part. I didn’t believe it from what our tenant said the problem was. I called Alexander Electrician and they set up a time and trouble-​shooted everything thing. They checked the plugs, the circuit breaker and light switches. Come to find out the wiring was done incorrectly and the electrician made the repair. And it didn’t take long, too. Great place for your electrical need. Will keep them for future repairs.

Karen and Alex are amazing and so is their company. I have used them personally as well as referring them to a number of clients. I have had nothing but positive feedback and they always do what they promise and usually more. They are fast and reliable and I would not hesitate to use them or refer them any chance I got. They clearly operate a well run business with well qualified team members.

I called around to some other firms and came up with zilch or crazy bids. When I called Alexander, Karen asked for a phone photos of our old circuit panel. Tim came out the next day to replace and update it and we passed inspection. They did the same thing when we had another final signoff set of issues with a different set of breakers that needed some back wiring replacements, and a new panel. Again, they dialed into our needs quickly and professionally.
As I told our real estate agent, «When I was in the business world, I used to look for companies like Alexander Electric, which you probably know are hard to find.» I am lucky I found them. I highly recommend Alexander Electric.

We recently needed some ceiling fans installed at our HOA General Store. We got 3 Bids and the choice we made was Alexander Electric. They gave us a fair price and did the work exactly as they promised. During the install they found one of the fans I had purchased had an out of box failure and needed to be returned. Alex contacted me and said that he would take the fan back and get it replaced for me. This was definitely not part of his original price but he did it to make it easier on the customer. That is what I call great customer service.
I would strongly recommend them to anyone who wants great service at a fair price.

We’ve called Alexander Electric three times, asking them to come out and give us a bid. Each time, we talk to a lady there and she takes our call back info and then never a call back. We are in the next town over, and want to use a local electrician if possible. After the first time, I thought «well, it happens». So I called again. Still no call back. Not sure why we called a third time, but we did… still no call back! From the reviews on Unilocal,it either sounds like they do good work or they have friends and family writing reviews for them. I’m not impressed, and we’re calling someone else.

Hard working. Honest. Fast. Smart! Definitely the person I will call for all my future electric needs!

We used Alexander Electric 20 years ago to add a circuit to my home office in Castro Valley and he did a great job. He;s got a whole crew now!
I first had him come in to check another estimate I got from someone else that I found very far-​fetched — a $ 30,000+ bid that just did not sound right, for what was supposed to be some basic checking for electrical safety and replacing a bathroom fan/​heater. Alex’s walkthrough and estimate, at $ 3500, seemed much more plausible, and not just because it was lower — his explanations made intuitive sense.
The only problem we’ve had with Alexander Electric on this job is that it took them a long time to schedule the work because they are so busy. But when they came out, during Christmas week no less, they brought a whole crew and finished the job in two consecutive days (that is, not two days spread out over three weeks, as so many construction people do!). So it was worth the patience.
The work was great, the crew were terrific, the foreman also explained what they were doing clearly and in plain language. They did find a couple of extra items that needed fixing at extra cost, but the problems they found were obvious as they uncovered them, so I am confident they were playing us straight.
This is one of those outfits that not only do a really good, clean, quality job, but also give you confidence that they know what they are doing and they are treating you fairly. Alexander Electric has grown and prospered over the years for good reason – good work, good customer service. Thanks, guys!

Alex and Karen Pulos are the salt of the earth. They continue to run Alexander Electric with integrity that is above reproach. This is my second annual review for them. Being in the construction industry can mean highs and lows… lots of opportunities and temptations to cut corners but not on their watch… through it all Alexander Electric stays the course…

I have used Alexander Electric twice now and I am blown away about just how good they are. Alex and Karen came out and assessed what we needed and gave some excellent recommendations. We have an older home and needed some of our electrical upgraded in addition to installing a sump pump. The guys were on time every day and on schedule. I found them very easy to communicate with and have a very high level of customer service. I now recommend them to anyone I know needed electrical work. 5 Stars is not enough!

For several months, I had been trying to figure out how to wire a attic fan in the top of my garage. I decided that I should leave it to the pros and called Karen at Alexander Electric and they came though once again for me! They had the fan installed within an hour and it works great. They are very professional, clean up after themselves and just plain do great work. I am sure I will have more electrical needs and will most definitely call them again!

These guys are fantastic. The same day he came out to give a quote he was able to start work. Within 30 minutes he had gone back to the shop, picked up another worker and parts and came back. I had them run an outside outlet with conduit. They were fast, efficient and the work was topnotch quality.
It took less than 90 minutes. I also had them look at putting a new timer I had on a pool pump. The figured out it was incorrectly wired and had no ground. Funny, that’s how the pool technician hooked it up.
They are friendly, knowledgeable and don’t seem out to make a fast buck.
They also took the time to answer my questions without making me feel like an idiot for asking. My old electrician moved out of the area and I have been looking for a while for a company I can trust. Looks like I found it.

Alexander Electric is a step above! As a project manager for a residential design and build firm I have dealt with a whole lot of sub contractors. Some good and some not so good. But Alexander definitely stands above the rest they are great. They do great work definitely know what they are doing and give honest reliable information. They are very professional, show up on the days they say they will, are on time, get the job done in the time they say they will and over all just a great company. I would and have recommended them to anyone needing electrical work!

Alexander electric has helped me and my family with fast knowledgable electrical service. One morning the lights in our master bathroom would not work. When i tried with the nothing happened. I flipped the braker at the fuose box and tried the switch again. The switch began to smoke and then the braker went out again. We had no lights upstairs and it was 5:30 AM with 4 people to get up and off to their day. At 8:00 I called Alexander electric and Alex said they would be out that morning. At 10:30 a professional electrician showed up. He had it totally fixed inabout 1 hour. The price was very fair and my family was happy.

Alex and his crew did an outstanding job providing the electrical work for our kitchen remodel. He quoted a completion time and meet it. This is the second time I have use Alexander Electrictic to do work at my house. The first was several years ago to install a sub-​panel and attic fans.
This current job was the wiring for a kitchen remodel. The lighting is suberp and energy efficient. The undercounter ligthing is even, with no dead spots. The use of undercabnet plug strips, LED cans, and floor recepticles were all executed perfectly.

I have worked with Alexander Electric on numerous projects in the Bay Area since 1998 ranging from new home construction, major expansions, kitchen and bathroom remodels to something as simple as lighting in an entertainment center. Alex Pulos (owner) and his crew are very knowledgeable, punctual and clean. If you want a job done right the first time and every time, give him a call.

I did a house addition requiring extensive electrical work including gfi outlets, canned lights, speaker wiring, tv and data cabling. Every employee was very polite, knowledgeable and professional. They worked well with my other contractors on the job. The end result was fabulous. I highly recommend Alexander Electric for all your electrical needs.

I am a realtor and used Alexander Electric for a few jobs where I needed to get the job urgently and acceptably. We were in the middle of physical inspections and found a problem; I was extremely impressed by their professionalism and attention to detail. They kept me and my client in the loop through out the entire job and finished on time and right on budget. I will have no hesitation at all to use them in the future.

We don’t like referrals, so please do not give them to us…
I gave these people a referral to my landlord when I was having electrical issues in my rental. There were sparks flying out of the outlet with nothing even plugged into it so it was pretty scary. I had some concerns that one of the circuits could be overloaded because there were several rooms wired to one circuit, which didn’t really make sense looking at the rest of the layout. I spoke with the owner (Karen) and she concurred and said I could talk to the electrician when he looked at it to see what his take was on it.
When the electrician (John) was at the rental, I was working so spoke with him over the phone. To my surprise, he refused to discuss anything with me. We had even started off the call based on my discussion with Karen, and he confirmed he had the heads up. He would not answer my questions though. In fact, he was argumentative and hostile in his attitude and tried to intimidate me — and then he even had the nerve to accuse me of being rude to him. Wow. Completely unreasonable. I felt like this guy was being some kind of misogynistic bully.
Considering I was the person gracious enough to give them a business referral to begin with, you’d think a bit of dignity or at least professionalism would have been in order. In fact, most people would actually be GRATEFUL when you give them a referral…
I later spoke with the owner about John’s behavior. She said that John had told her the situation and the landlord asked him not to discuss things with me; and that was why he acted the way he did. She was matter of fact and completely unapologetic as to her employee’s horrible behavior; she did not offer to coach or correct him in any way; and she did not take accountability for their original commitment to discuss his observations with me. Oh, and by the way, she didn’t even said thanks for the referral: P She seemed to think John’s horrible conduct was just fine and I was the one in the wrong. Apparently, I was wrong to have questions that she herself agreed were valid; and I was wrong for being a tenant because tenants go around plugging things in (ridiculous– but even so, in my case nothing was even plugged into the exploding outlet.)
Basically, it was ‘Hey lady, screw you for giving us a referral. We don’t like people who do that!“
Obviously, I will not give them any more referrals, or any future business of my own of course.
