Driving along 9&20 in Schodack, it was almost time for lunch and I happen to spot Bo Fo’s Café & Catering as I drove by. I made a quick U-turn and pulled in for lunch. This café opened a couple months ago. The atmosphere inside is very cozy inside which has an order counter(kitchen in back) and a few tables for eating in. Breakfast and lunch are served here and the menu offerings include breakfast sandwiches, bagels, 15 signature sandwiches/paninis/wraps, salads, soup of the day, and small selection of baked goods. Self serve coffee, tea, and cold drinks also offered. The prices for the sandwiches are $ 6.95-$ 7.50. A few of the signature sandwiches include Funky Chicken Salad, Portabella Bruschetta, Electric Pork Zinger, Pilgrim Wrap, and Black-N-Bleu Panini. For takeout, I ordered the ½ Sandwich Combo($ 7.02 with tax) and the soup of the day happened to be New England Clam Chowder. The food was made to order and ready in minutes. I ordered the ½ Monterey Chicken Sandwich, which was big for half size. The hot clam chowder had a semi thick cream broth with small chunks of potatoes and very minced clams, solid ingredients to broth(60 – 40) and easily drinkable from the cup. The sandwich tasted pretty good which had thin strips of grilled chicken breast with pepper jack cheese, honey mustard, lettuce, tomato on very thick and soft focaccia bread. The sandwich also came with a side of pasta salad(ditalini, soft white beans & creamy Italian dressing) and a few long pickled wax & green beans. This is just what I needed, a good lunch at a fair price.(3.7÷5.0) HOURS(may vary): Mon-Fri: 8AM-6PM, though they were also open on Saturday: 9AM-2PM FACEBOOK:
