My husband and I eat here probably three times a month. The restaurant is always warm and inviting and the service is very good. Their house margaritas pack a delicious punch and are very reasonably priced for the quality of ingredients. my favorite meal is the two enchilada, and one burrito combo. My husband loves the Burrto De Colorado. Flore and Sandra outdid themselves this blustery February first night

This restaurant is now called Dos Amigos. It is still fantastic. It’s also now open for dinner, until 8 pm.

I love this place! We just recently moved back to Castle Rock after many years away and spotted this place as we drove by. Since stopping the first time we go several times a week. Inexpensive, well made food that is very tasty. It’s clean, friendly, great food and killer street tacos. Yum!

I’d driven by El Masón a number of times, and decided to stop-in and try it recently. I’ve been back a few times since. Much like El Korita farther down the street, it’s an unpretentious, clearly family-owned place that serves-up tasty food at a great price point. Sure, you could go to fancier places with better décor, table service, etc., but you’ll pay more for the privilege. So far, I’ve tried only the burritos, smothered, but all the variations I’ve had are hearty portions of food served simply. While you order and pay at the counter, they bring it to your table when ready, and will bring complimentary chips and salsa as well if you wish while you wait. Affordable prices, clean environment, and tasty food… A recipe for regular visits in my book!

El Meson is the BEST Mexican restaurant in the Castle Rock area hands down. The latest new Mexican restaurant here, Blue Nectar, is getting all the business and publicity, but we had dinner there last weekend and it was terrible, we’ll never go back. Chips and salsa was stale, had zero flavor, food was mediocre, and that’s being generous. El Meson is always clean, amazing service and the food and drink a both FABULOUS! I will never go anywhere else again and I advise you to do that same. Don’t waste your money, time or taste buds anywhere else.

Little places like this make Castle Rock such a sweet town. Family owned and operated I am sure. Great people and food. Clean. The best kind of «divey«place. This is not black tie affair but if you want good food from good people in a clean and cozy locale give them a try! They have real menudo for those interested.

I’ve been eating here about twice a week for the last 6 months, this place is great. $ 2 breakfast burritos for a grab n go, or hungry man sized ones for a few bucks more. My favorite breakfast is the chorizo and eggs plate. For lunch and dinner I have yet to order badly. The salsa is the best in town, as is the green chile. The only down side is that they close early, so don’t plan on grabbing tacos here when the bars close down.

Just finished up a job down here in Castle rock and stumbled on this little gem. Food is dang good! The bathrooms are clean, service was great. Overall a great experience! I’ll be sure to come here anytime I’m in the area.

This place is fantastic. The food is great! I had some tacos and they were on point. Not to mention the home made rojo and verde sauces were delicious. Not sure why people are complaining about the service in a place where you order at the counter and seat yourself?! I had some asada tacos and som alambre tacos, and lemme tell you, they were on point.

This review is for the new owners. They have been open only 2 weeks, I hope they stay. Great Tacos! Great service. Can’t wait to try their breakfast. We had the asada, carnitas, and al pastor tacos and they were all fantastic. Owners were friendly, and let us try their new vegetarian green chile.

«Under New Management», they say. They lady that used to cook there was rude, every time I ordered, it was like I was bothering her. Her food was great, though. I put up with her attitude for the incredible food. Now, the staff is kind and friendly, the food is horrid. I ordered two Tacos and a Torta. Very, very little meat and filling for the Tacos and Torta. Way too much Bolillo. People aren’t always a reason to go back, when you provide a low quality product.

Santiago’s was closed, so we thought we would try here. Same price… not the same quality! Lots of potatoes, no seasoning, no green chili sauce, and no eggs! We thought we were getting bacon, but nope. Won’t go back for sure!

Authentic tacos and salsa:) I had the El pastor and Lengua tacos they were very good. Green salsa is hot red is hotter:) The owner is very nice also. Just for the record the tacos are authentic which is what I am looking for in CR. The breakfast burritos are too small and skip the huevos rancheros. The tacos are 1.60 each and not huge but are the closest thing i can find to my favorite taco stand in Portland.

I mostly just end up at El Mason for the breakfast burrito, and boy are they good. For $ 2 they are hot and ready to go, or you can opt to have a fresh(and larger) one made for a bit more. Either way, get the one with chorizo. it’s delicious. There’s a little bar with a few different salsas, onions and cilantro to add to your taste. They have a much larger menu with lunch/dinner items such as tortas and tamales. If you want cheap, fast, authentic Mexican, give them a try!

Really? First? Admittedly every time I have been in this place I have been the only«gringo» but hey, good for me! There are a couple of signs posted on the curb outside this place advertising $ 2 breakfast burritos and tamales. How could I say no? The service is quick, the menu is big and easy to read and pretty extensive. The tortas are delicious and not overly greasy. The tamales are very flavorful and can be enjoyed either smothered or plain. The breakfast burritos are made at the time of your order and vary in levels of” heat” based on your order. They serve sodas from Mexico made with real sugar. Having a quality, tasty and affordable Mexican restaurant right off the Highway in Castle Rock is awesome.
