Mechanics Plus was purchased In 1985 and was owned by a few different owners for the first 15 years. Bill has owned it for the last ten. It is very hard to find Mechanics Plus although it has a 436 address it is nestled in the far eastern corner of the Greater Mall. It sits behind the Pet Bazaar Pet Store that blocks the shop from westbound traffic. Although less than 5% of our customers are walk in traffic we stay busy enough to employ 6 people. We are the best kept secret in Casselberry. We are a one stop shop that can change oil or remove and rebuild your automatic transmission. Thank you for taking the time to read about our company.

Mechanics Plus was purchased by Bill Allen in 2002. After working in the industry for 30 years he decided it was better that he purchased a business that would be run with Integrity and trust than to fight the normal dishonest practices in the auto repair world. The first move he made was hire the best auto mechanics he could find and took them of flat rate and pay them a salary they could live on comfortably. This takes the selling questionable repair problem off the table. This team of mechanics have all been with Mechanics Plus for over 8 years plus. They never have to install parts that are not needed, so the manager and mechanics can sleep well knowing they went home with the same integrity they started there day with. Our philosophy is simple if we treat the customer the way we would like to be treated we will get the repair when it is time. From Transmission overhauls to a simple tire rotation or oil change we value the relationships with our customers more than anything else.

I’ve taken a few cars to them for different problems and they have always done great work and been straight forward and pretty reasonably priced. The only thing I don’t like is that they aren’t opened on weekends but good mechanics usually aren’t.

Bill is incredibly personable, friendly, knowledgeable, and most importantly, HONEST. I’ve had a couple of repairs done here and have been very pleased. I was told I eventually needed a new catalytic converter (costing roughly $ 800), but at the time I brought it in, he told me it wasn’t urgent/wasn’t hurting the vehicle. I definitely couldn’t afford it at the time, but wasn’t sure how serious it was, but Bill suggested I don’t get it right then and save up for it when I could afford it. I’ve never heard a mechanic/​auto shop tell me this! Bill is actually looking out for his customers and gives great work!

Mechanics PLUS, emphasis on the plus! Bill and his guys have taken care of my family for the last ten years. From changing my oil to changing my transmission — thanks, Johnny, to changing my flat tire on my way to work — thanks, Chris, these are the guys who always do it right. This morning I called Bill, told him I had a flat tire, and he had Chris come to my rescue. In less than 15 minutes I was ready to go. On top of that, it was — unexpectedly– on the house. Bill takes care of his people. Do yourself a favor, make Mechanics Plus your go to shop.

This shop came highly recommended to us when our car started having issues. We had it towed there and the service was timely, they tried to help make things convenient by paying for the towing and adding it to our bill.
The only thing that bothers me is that when we were contacted about what the issue was (bad starter), we were quoted $ 100 for the part (reasonable, average price) and a non-​negotiable $ 60 warranty. A warranty that costs 60% of the parts cost is NOT cool. They said that we couldn’t purchase our own and bring it in, fair enough, but don’t force a warranty on people, that isn’t cool.

Love these guys! I always worry about getting ripped off when I take my car to a mechanic and, after confirmation of being scammed by another place (see my other reviews), I took my car to Mechanics Plus. They diagnosed the problem quickly and with fewer problems costing half what the other mechanic said.
I take my car here for «trip checks» before long road trips in addition to regular maintenance and always feel safe hitting the road after they’ve given it the okay.
Everyone who works here is kind and helpful. They are honest and always try to get the best deal on any parts that have to be ordered. I can’t recommend them enough!

Yes-​another review from me-​almost 2 years later-Best.Shop.Ever. I trust Bill and his staff of expert mechanics. They truly care about the work they do and give 110% customer satisfaction. Bill goes above and beyond-​I mean really-​how often is your mechanic going to give you his cell phone number and answer any time you call. I have his number and have used it several times. I believe in good reviews which is why I am writing one-​without even being asked! My car is like my baby and Mechanics Plus is a great babysitter! Don’t look any further-​trust me-​Bill is honest, hardworking and goes the extra mile! I had a problem with my new car and Bill was right there to help!

I’ve been to Mechanics Plus twice, and had a good experience both times. The first time, I went as an alternative to my usual mechanic, who quoted me a sky-​high price for work that needed done. Mechanics Plus did the work for about $ 200 less, and did it quickly and courteously. The second time was yesterday, when I finally brought my car in to have a rough idle taken care of. I couldn’t figure out the cause, but they were able to quickly diagnose it as a bad motor mount. No more vibration. Scott even stayed late so I could pick up the car after the garage’s posted hours.

The download I’ve been waiting on to finish while I’ve been typing up Unilocal reviews is over, so I’ll keep this one short and sweet: Mechanic’s Plus is a great shop, Bill Allen is a courteous and helpful guy, and the mechanics are all guys I trust. He gives you his cell number, for heaven’s sake, so you can call him when your car breaks down. If you drive a rattle-​trap wheezing asthmatic death trap like me, it’s nice to know that your mechanic’s not gonna screw you over.
If you live nearby, he’ll likely drop you off there while he works on your vehicle so you don’t have to wait in the shop for two hours, but in general I’d recommend bringing a friend who can play chauffeur for you instead, and then make them drive you all around town just because.

I have had a great experience with this mechanic, he is extremely friendly when you first meet him, he claims that he will only fix what is broken and appears very trustworthy. I took in my car for brakes, they were replaced quickly and fairly priced. My car developed an erratic idle, so I took it to Bill, who kept the car for a total of 10 hours over 2 days and finally stated he would’nt «waste» his time antmore and he was «washing his hands of this car» he gave me the keys and I left with my car not fixed! He appeared angry that I had dared change my own spark plugs, wires and ignition coil. He said that since he had not done these repairs, he was not able to diagnose the repair! Imagine your dentist telling you that «since you had brushed the teeth, he would be unable to proceed! I left and immediately went to Mahoneys who, after having the car for 4 hours, diagnosed the problem as a bad fuel pump, gave me a price and fixed the car! If you need simple repairs, dont waste your time with them! I will not return after my very negative experience, beware this mechanic, go to Mahoneys!
