History

Established in 2013.

SMDC was created by two professional salsa dancers looking for a «middle ground» between dancing for fun and training to dance professionally, a place for adults to learn express themselves through Latin dancing with artistic and technical detail, without excessive commitment. Our mission is to bring people together in order to explore the beauty and passion of Latin music.

Meet the Business Owner

Pedro P.

Business Owner

Born in Veracruz Mexico, Pedro has been dancing his entire life. His first exposure to dance centered on styles such as Cumbia, Merengue, and Salsa. At the age of 16, he began studying salsa «on 2.» He learned quickly, and began to perform professionally in 2004. He has performed all over the U.S., including Atlanta, D.C., N.Y., S.C. and more. Pedro enjoys introducing new students to the world of salsa, and his unique style is widely admired. Pedro is the artistic director of Somos Mambo Dance Company. Pedro is bilingual, and is happy to teach his students in either Spanish or English.
