Burgers here were ok, very similar to steak and shake but not quite on the level of a real good thin patty burgers. The shoe string fries are great though especially for toddlers as a larger order kept mine busy for nearly an hour. The fry sauce is great and Ill definitely get it on the burgers next time. Staff was all friendly and theres plenty of counter service. In the winter time ill definitely get into their custard menu and next visit will be the chicken sandwich for sure.

Been here more than a few times now, and have been satisfied each time. I really like the way they make the hot dogs with the toasted bun. One of the few places that beats out a ball game dog for me, and that’s tough to do. The burgers are a little on the«thin» side, I definitely have to order a double to be satisfied. Be aware their burgers come with onions, pickles, and mustard. Pickles and mustard aren’t for me on my burgers, but I forgot to remove the mustard once and it actually wasn’t bad. The fries are also on the«thin» side, but they are really good. The fry sauce is really good too, and I would recommend trying it. Lastly, I’ve gotten the custard a few times. I like the sundae better than the concrete, but for«ice cream/custard,» I’d say it’s about average.

The food here is delicious! It does take awhile to receive your food so make sure you have a little extra time but it’s worth the wait. They have lots of menu options as well. It’s a little pricey for a combo though.

My son is a fan of the shoestring. He calls them yummy, However, went there and order the fries for him. The cook was sweeping and cleaning when I ordered. I appreciate them keeping a tidy kitchen but please was hands after sweeping and cleaning(not just change gloves) when preparing orders. My son was so disappointed when I threw the fries in the trash.

Thought this place would be similar to Steak and Shake so gave it a try. I got two medium shakes and cheeseburger. $ 14! Are you kidding me? I told the lady when she handed me my tiny $ 4 shake that it better be the best shake I ever had. It wasn’t. Burger was greasy and small for $ 5.79. Not a great location for over priced burgers and shakes with Five Guys and Goodberries across the street. And oh yeah, 21 burger as well which was much better. Won’t be going back.

The food was great, customer service was great. The pumpkin pie custard was disappointing. They’re supposed to «blend» the pie into the custard but unfortunately that’s not what happened. It was like they dropped a frozen piece of pie into the cup of custard. Which was impossible to eat. Other than that the restaurant is clean and beautiful.

I wouldn’t normally go to this place but I was soooo hungry! The«ice cream» was nothing special, on the same level as DQ. The original steak burger was better than I expected, it has a grilled taste to it and wasn’t to oily.

Ate at Freddy’s tonight. Great burger. Hours later and I have food poisoning. Apparently it’s an issue at several locations across the country, per Unilocal.Do NOT eat at Freddy’s.

So two weeks ago my wife and I tried to eat at Freddie’s but their small parking lot was full. That could be a good sign I thought. I was correct. The Chicago style hot dog was good. And the old fashioned steak burger was hot and juicy. My daughter liked her chicken fingers. My wife had the patty melt which was nicely done with the grilled onions and rye bread. The fries were really good. Nice amount of their salt seasoning. They where nice and hot. This shoestring fries easy beat out McD’s fries. We all had a custard dessert. From worms and dirt to chocolate brownie concrete’s they we really good. So why the 3 star? Really wanted the chocolate decadence concrete that was being advertised on there LED menu board… nope don’t have it??? Along with the parking situation from the time before.

The only good thing about this place is their milkshakes. Amazing milkshakes. Everything else was simply awful. The patties had no taste and the fries were just bland.

I’ve been here a couple of times. It’s a perfect place to get your burger fix. It’s one of the very few places where I don’t get heartburn afterwards. Yes, it’s true! I eat small portions, but a single burger was too small for me. Two patties is just right. They also offer an array of toppings. Their pickles are actual giant slices of real dill pickles, which are crunchy and tasty. The burgers are just like Steak n Shake, smooshed into a flat pancake and grilled ’til crispy. Fries were crispy. Their signature sauce is so-so. Just tastes like ketchup and mustard mixed with mayo. The shakes are good, but really expensive for the size you get, ~$ 4.99 for relatively small portion.(Shakes everywhere are expensive these days). A typical burger combo is $ 7.99. Two of us at dinner for just over $ 18. Typically we spend less at a fast food place, but this food is fresher, made to order, and higher quality. You have to wait a few minutes for your food, but the restaurant is so spacious, it’s not a problem. The booths are nice. Their standard cup size for drinks seemed small to me, so we had to get refills and you have to wait in line at the soda station since there’s only one. I really wish restaurants would design easier-to-understand menus. They offer so many choices that it’s always confusing the first time you go to a new place. Pictures are good. Overall, I really liked the place a lot. It’s not noisy, cramped, dirty or packed with sticky kids. We got our food in under 5 minutes, it’s fresh, tasty and plentiful, but not oversized to the point where I feel sick.

Love the thin crispy edges to the burgers here. Similar to Steak N Shake, but better. Don’t find them greasy or salty as several other reviewers have complained. Chuck’s is still my favorite burger in the area but Freddy’s is a great choice for something quicker. Fries are super crisp shoestring variety. Always served hot, unlike our last few visits to Steak N Shake. Love the fry sauce for dipping them in, as well as dipping the burger in. Also get points for serving Pepsi products. The custard is alright, but as a former Western New Yorker it is nothing like Anderson’s Custard. Yes, the employees are mostly high school kids, but we have always received friendly service here.

Great place to take kids on a rain spring morning. Custard, fries, and burgers… can’t go wrong.

If I had to describe the atmosphere of Freddy’s, I’d say it’s like Five Guys and a 50s diner had a one night stand that resulted in a love child. It’s technically a «fast food» joint but it’s clear that it’s MTO and it’s better to sit down and eat. There is a drive thru but I don’t really see the point. It’s also very clean and the seating is spaced out enough so you’re not eating with a stranger breathing down your neck like at other places. The prices aren’t terrible for the value of the food. I don’t know what other reviewers are thinking. I went with my father and it was $ 15 for two generous portions of food. I left with a full stomach for an appropriate camount of money. The way prices are heading at real«fast food» restaurants, I’d rather spend the same if not a hair more for better quality food. Yes, the burgers are thin. But that’s how some steakburgers are. These aren’t thick, ½lb slabs of meat. The crispy nature is part of the experience. And my shoestring fries were piping hot and perfectly cooked. And as far as I know, this is the only restaurant I’ve seen with Cherry Pepsi on tap. Overall, I’ll be back. I’ll be taking my boyfriend and friends here when they visit. Two thumbs way up.

Having found the thin burgers at Steak ‘N Shake to be OK, thought I would give Freddy’s a try. Undoubtably it will have been my one and only visit. I got a double combo and my wife got a single combo. $ 14.00 was excessive for the quantity and quality of the food. There were a lot of fries, but they were lukewarm and so overly salted and seasoned you would have never known they were a potato based product. Now to the burgers. Piping hot and cooked to order. That is the good news. The bad news? If they had been made any thinner I am positive they would have lost all molecular cohesion. Add to that an overabundance of grease and you have your burger. I see from other reviewers that this is exactly what they are looking for in a burger. It is not true for me. I was going to get a shake to counteract the excessive grease, but at $ 3.50 for a «mini» I decided to pass.

In an area where there’s already significant competition for the hearts and minds of burger lovers(Char-Grill, Five Guys, and Tribeca Tavern are all a short drive away), any new burger joint in this area really needs to do something different in order to not get completely overlooked. Fortunately, Freddy’s is different enough to make it stand out. Freddy’s makes«steakburgers», in which the patties are less like traditional patties, and more like loosely-formed patties of coarse-ground beef. The result is a lot of surface area and not a lot of interior. If you like a good char on your burger, you’ll love this. But if you’re of the opinion that the only proper burger is one with a big, thick patty with a pink center, you’ll be sorely disappointed. In general, don’t even bother with the«single» burgers; whereas a single at Five Guys is sufficient and a double is bordering on gluttony, a single at Freddy’s seems strangely light on the meat, and a double is just perfect. Fries are of the very thin shoestring variety, and they don’t skimp on the salt. Their malts are excellent, but I haven’t tried their custard. It’s a hard sell, what with them being right across the street from Goodberry’s… If I have anything negative to say, it’s that the prices seem a bit steep for what you get, and that the drive through has been consistently slow when I have used it. They have two ordering lines, but it doesn’t seem to matter, because the bottleneck is the pick-up window. I don’t think I’ve gotten through their drive-through in less than ten minutes yet. Also, I’ve seen other reviewers comparing Freddy’s to In-N-Out. I don’t see it. You can get a better approximation of an In-N-Out animal style burger at BurgerFi, it that’s what you are looking for.

Too expensive for what you get. The burger patties are so thin that you have to get a double just to make sure you have the right proportion of beef to bun/fixings. You also get: skinny fries, loud music, counters that need wiping down. My advice: go across the street to Five Guys and get so much more for about the same price. Or, pay a bit more and get one of those gourmet burgers at TriBeCa Tavern. Bottom line: we might run thru the drive-thru for a shake, but this won’t be on the list of regular lunch or dinner joints for our family.

I’ve been CRAVING a decent burger for a while and kept getting off track when on a burger expedition… finally a hint of a decent stand in for in-n-out, and I knew this was the spot to actually order a burger! Yes, these burgers are thin, but I personally prefer that. There is the option to get a double or a triple if you’re more of the carnivorous sort too! Win win :) And…guess what. These burgers actually DO scratch that in-n-out itch! Yes! They’re simple, seemed fresh(claim on the bag is that nothing is prepared until it’s ordered), had the right kind of toppings… all good! The fries… my husband joked they must put crack on them or something because he really enjoyed them. They have a flavoring salt they use on the fries which adds some good dimension to those potato bits. I personally found them a bit too salty, but I generally prefer things less salty than others(I’d guess salt level is perfect for most!). My toddler was nuts for these fries too. Unlike in-n-out, the food does take a while to prepare once ordered. For normal people it isn’t an awful wait, but if you have a hungry munchkin waiting with you it can be tough! Overall, definitely a hit! This will be a great spot for those times I really need a burger!

I really enjoy their skinny fries and Vienna Beef(from Chicago) brand hot dogs. Those Vienna Beef brand dogs area a really tough find in NC so I’m thrilled this location is not too far from me. The burgers and custard are tasty too. The staff is friendly and efficient and keep it clean as can be. No complaints whatsoever from me!

The California style double is tasty! It’s a decent stand in for In-N-Out, for this Californian anyway. The patty isn’t for everyone but I like these salty crusty thin patties. The hot dogs are on grilled New England style buns. They have a good veggie patty so my vegetarian was happy. Their custard is good and dense, almost like a gelato. Although, it’ll have trouble standing up to Goodberry’s around the corner. All in all I’d say this is a good addition to the area.
