Frantz Automotive has been serving the Cary and Triangle region for nearly 30 years and has earned a reputation as one of the area’s top automotive repair and service centers.

Don and Lisa F.

Business Owner

Don and Lisa Frantz own and operate Frantz Automotive Center; a nationally recognized award winning automotive repair and service center.

Don’s responsibilities include workforce leadership, marketing, communications, and technical support. He is also an ASE Certified Master Technician with Advanced Level 1 Certification. Away from the shop, Don also serves as the District B Representative on the Cary Town Council and he has also served on North Carolina’s Chapter of the National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB) Leadership Council, and is a past President of the Heart of Cary Association.

Lisa’s responsibilities include business management, customer relations, and strategic planning. Lisa routinely volunteers at a number of area schools and has served as a board member on the Cary High School IMP Club, Cary Elementary PTA and the Heart of Cary Association.

Frantz Automotive is a proud member of the Cary Chamber of Commerce.

I love Frantz Automotive. I’ve been taking my cars there since the mid 1990’s. I know my cars are properly maintained and repaired. I can trust what they tell me when a repair is needed and the cost is the going rate. Excellent automotive service.

Had Frantz Auto Service check out some stuff on my Ford Focus recently. Couldn’t be more impressed with the customer service. Told me what was wrong, my options, and what was best for me even if they weren’t the ones to do the work on the car. Will definitely be a longtime customer for any car care needs! They are awesome people who have their customers best interest in mind.

I found Frantz after getting screwed by 2 other local repair shops… and I’m so happy I did. I’ve never had anything but great experiences here. The shop itself is out of the way for me, but totally worth the trip.

Only take your car here if you like getting judged. They told me I needed to just drive my car right to the junk yard. My car was not that bad and is in good working order. Thanks a lot Frantz. You guys lost my business.

There is a reason that this place stays busy… it is that good. The staff working at Frantz Automotive are all top-​notch. Each are at a minimum ASE certified.
I have had Don and his crew do work on different cars and trucks over the years. For the simple jobs to the complex, I have always felt I had been treated fairly. Estimates for work needed are always clearly explained and are on the money. I have always been pleased with the service I have received.
I think you would have to look long and hard to find a more honest shop.

I haven’t actually taken my car in yet, but after waking up early a second morning to go to Modern Service down the street, only to be told they wouldn’t get to it until lunchtime after I made an appointment for 8am, I decided to go somewhere with better scheduling. After seeing the lobby (someone was on their macbook, so I assume there’s free wifi) and getting an honest, concrete appointment (they could fit me in first thing next week), I decided that this will be my car maintenance shop until further notice.

This is the ONLY place to go for car repairs. The staff is friendly, thorough, and the prices are very fair. They can get you fixed up in a pinch, and they have a year warranty on all repairs. Give them a try and you’ll become a regular!

Great bunch of guys working here. They’re always very friendly, very quick and efficient, and very honest about the work they’re doing. Plus they charge a quarter of what my car dealership does for the same basic services. My only complaint: watch the curb! If you come at it from a 90 degree angle, it’ll get the bottom of your car.

Had a used car checked out. They were quick, explained everything, gave me quotes to get a few things resolved, and honored my requests exactly. Shop is very busy so make sure you make an appointment, but they honor it very well and have you in and out. Waiting room amd front desk is very classy, full of local and nascar memorabilia. I will def be back to this shop.

I contacted them after getting an unusually high quote from Atlantic Tire for $ 1500 worth of work to be done on an old car my son drives. They took the time to give me a thorough quote over the phone, and indicated that they would make sure that everything that was quoted actually needed to be done.
To their word, they did only the work that needed to be done (not everything that Atlantic said), did it well and it has been several months without any problems. It took a little longer to get the work done since they are a smaller garage, but an extra day in the garage saved us $ 900!
Honesty is always the best policy and I have new mechanic!

Ok, this is my first ever Unilocal review — hope it’s helpful! :)
My car needed some minor service today (top off Freon), and I decided to try Frantz since they are just down the street.
The waiting room lobby is small but very clean and nicely decorated — one of the couches looks like the back seat of a vintage car!
There was wifi access so I could get some work done while I waited. I was with my son, and they let him play with one of the toy race cars.
I felt like I was treated fairly and not overcharged.
The service was very friendly and personal (That always means a lot to me.)
Although I hope my car won’t need any other repairs anytime soon, if it does, I do plan on going back here again.
