Cary Obstetrics & Gynecology

I have been seeing Dr. Bonpain for 10 years or longer. She’s awesome. Like your best friend she listens & expresses concern. Since they closed the Clayton location & she is now at the main Cary location she is definitely more rushed but they are a busy practice. Her nurse is not very friendly but Dr. Bonpain makes up for it. The check-​in people are always nice, sometimes the wait can be long (almost an hour sometimes) & the check out people are rude & condescending. I had to see Dr. Maydew one time & she was short & got annoyed when I repeated the same question. I made a comment to the nurse about the doctor having been a bit of a jerk about my questions, like «I guess you’d better listen & understand the first time the doctor answers your question because you sure don’t want to ask it again». The nurse gave a wan smile & said something like «no, you don’t».
If it wasn’t for Dr. Bonpain I would have switched a long time ago.

After a trip to the ER for what felt like my appendix bursting I was referred to Cary OBGYN for what they said was cramping. I met with Dr. Wycoff, who was very quick to offer me birth-​control. I explained that 41 years old, I had no interest in going on the pill for what seemed wouldn’t solve my issues. I was reluctant, but tried them anyway. The next month I was back in the ER with excruciating pain and excessive bleeding that wasn’t stopping. They sent me back to Cary OB only to be told to try a different birth control. When the nurse checked my blood count she was alarmed I was a level 6! She handed me 6 bottles of iron pills and told me to go home and rest. I know know My blood count was so dangerously low I shouldn’t have been driving a car! I don’t remember even getting home and literally fainted on my kitchen floor. My husband rushed me back to the ER and I was going to need a blood transfusion! This practice should have sent me right to the hospital, not home. I called the Dr. On duty at Cary OB and he ridiculed me for crying to him that I was in pain.
When I called the doctor the next day, Dr Wycoff suggested I get an IUD and DNC. I was infuriated all they wanted to do was treat me with drugs. I felt like something was missing and made an appt at Raleigh OBGYN for a second opinion.
Within and hour after an ultrasound there, I was told I had Adenomyosis and the only true cure for this was a hysterectomy. A month later I had my hysterectomy and literally got my life back!
If you care about your health and well being avoid this OB. Their only objective is to put you on pills and send you for countless tests! Go to Raleigh OB for true care.

First off scheduling with this practice was a nightmare. Took several weeks full of multiple calls to get an appointment– I only kept calling because my primary dr recommended them and I am looking to move forward with birth control soon as I am getting married in a few months. The message I got with an appointment only had the day not time and nobody knew what time I was supposed to come in whenever I would call back. I finally got in today with Dr. Wycoff and it was an awkward and uncomfortable experience. They scheduled me for a consult before placing an IUD and she acted annoyed by all of my questions and only gave one word responses. No smiles or friendliness which I would have really appreciated since I’m a bit nervous about the IUD. She seemed like I was inconveniencing her and wasting her time. She abruptly told me she was going to examine me and I often have difficulty with these sorts of exams if I’m not feeling comfortable (which I wasn’t because of her attitude with me) I was having difficulty staying still and I told her I was uncomfortable. She made some quick remark and then snapped her gloves off while stating «you can be acting like this. You can’t get an IUD if you’re going to be like that» instead of speaking any kind of calming words. She left the exam room without saying anything else and I stayed in there for several minutes feeling embarrassed plus not knowing if I was suppose to just leave or if she would be back to consult with me on options that might work better if I won’t be able to have an IUD fit. Nothing. So I got dressed and walked to find her office door and said goodbye and saw myself out. I was upset by the way I was treated and cried in their parking lot. I will definitely not be back. If you are young or shy or slightly uncomfortable with these sorts of exams then this is not the dr for you! Save yourself the embarrassment.

Do not see Dr. Anthony if you have any extra weight on your body. I’ve never met a more judgmental Doctor in all my life. I also have never had a doctor throw a pamphlet and say «everything has risks» at me when I asked direct questions. You know it’s bad when we left the doctors office and my husband says «wow I didn’t know you were dying». I complained to the office manager who told me to see another doctor. They were zero help too. I will never come back to this office.

It is important that you read this review before making an appointment at Cary Obgyn. I recently moved to the area and made an appt here. I went today and was so upset when I left — I will never go back.
The office staff and nurses are wonderful. They were friendly and helpful and I thought that would be the same with the doctor, but I was very wrong.
I met with Dr. Anthony. He had an emergency that came up and was a little late but was very apologetic when he finally came in to examine me, which was totally fine. However not more than five minutes into our initial discussion did he start talking politics. It was not only bizarre to have a doctor that I had never met before talk about something so polarizing, but it also made me very uncomfortable that he was very opinionated.
We moved on from there and the rest of the visit went downhill. Without getting into too much detail, the doctor made a lot of assumptions about me and my past obgyn who delivered my five month old. He made negative comments on my weight numerous times (I am still losing my baby weight but no means obese). He asked how much weight I gained with my first and I told him 40 lbs. He said that I should keep working out like I am and continue into my next pregnancy to avoid gaining so much weight. I have no idea why weight was the main conversation point of this visit, but the way the doctor chose to discuss it with me was in line with the arrogance he displayed during his political rant.
My weight aside, the other thing that I thought was completely unprofessional was the way he discussed my previous pregnancy. I was forced to have a c-​section because I was late and never dilated. My previous doctor was incredible and we discussed and tried all options before deciding on c-​section. Dr. Anthony implied today that my doctor jumped the gun and said for my next birth I should consider vbac because it’s better — was he deaf? I DID NOT DILATE… what else was the doctor supposed to do when my baby’s heart rate dropped at each contraction?
Overall, Dr. Anthony has terrible bedside manner. When I walked out of the office I was mad, upset and basically in shock about what had just happened. I was so caught off guard that I didn’t say anything, but now I wish so badly that I had. The best I can do is warn other woman about going here.

I recently found out I was expecting my first child. I was trying to find a good OBGYN and was struggling. Every office I called said there were not excepting new patients– a bit discouraging. I finally called Cary OBGYN and booked my first appointment. Everyone was very friendly and efficient which I liked. I didn’t have to wait very long either. I haven’t really spent much time with any of the Dr. s yet but I imagine that will change as I get further long. I am currently only 17 weeks.
This is a group office though so you aren’t assigned one doctor. You rotate so you meet all the doctors. Some people may or may not like that.
