We provide a very special lodging experience for relaxing, refreshing, and recharging in a peaceful rural setting for the traveler/​vacationer to the Joplin, MO market area. Bannockburn is a great place for creating, praying romancing, or just resting. Stirling is ideal for a staff retreat or a small family gathering. Children can milk a goat, feed a horse, and harvest their own brown eggs for breakfast. Proud to be part of the AirBnB phenomenal startup.

History

Established in 1998.

We purchased 147 acres of farmland and timber in 1998 and named it Ozark Highlands Farm in honor of our Scottish heritage. For the first several years, we raised chickens, goats, and horses in addition to offering a quaint, hand-​built stone cottage for rent. We later joined the Top Notch Farms crop-​sharing family growing corn, soy beans, and winter wheat. In 2013, we joined the Cottage to the AirBnB network and in 2014 added 60 adjoining acres of farmland and made two more lodging units available via Airbnb. We especially love sharing rural life with vacationers from the city whose children often have not seen where milk and eggs come from.
