Delivery of fresh, local produce and artisan foods in the Sandhills of North Carolina… local food for local people! Our CSA subscription program brings the freshest local food to you from family farmers. We are a unique Cooperative formed of normally competing interests — farmers, consumers and Co-​op staff are all members — working together to strengthen the local economy, preserve green space and solve community problems. Our theme line: «Neighbors Feeding Neighbors». We are locally grown and community driven!

History

Established in 2009.

In 2009, farmers, consumers and staff came together to build a community around local food in the Sandhills of North Carolina — to satisfy local food needs with local food. Volunteers came on board to help pack boxes, coordinate the community pick-​up locations (called gathering sites) and be the smiling faces of the Co-​op. Thanks to loyal volunteers and members, dedicated farmers, and community support the Co-​op has continued to grow and is now in its 6^th year.

In 2014, the Co-​op donated over 3 tons of produce to neighbors in need through various food pantries and shelters in the Sandhills. Nearly $ 350,000 went to Sandhills family farmers & artisans through the CSA subscription program and Artisanal Market. Additionally, more than $ 43,000 was contributed directly to community schools, churches, small businesses and organizations through Gathering Sites. SF2T also brought folks together for more than 3,300 volunteer hours to drive the local food movement!
