Subject Video Lessons

In our Educational Video Lessons, an experienced instructor introduces and teaches a topic or subject. These videos are available to watch free of charge.

Guided Problem-​Solving Tutoring Workbook

Students are provided an online workbook that contains a variety of problems on a subject. Students receive feedback on each question as they proceed through the workbook. Every question contains a video tutorial that provides detailed instructions on solving the problem. Since our Guided Problem-​Solving Tutorials are self-​contained video lessons, it’s like receiving a tutoring session at no extra charge.

Professional Development Seminars and Workshops

Our Professional Development Seminars provide information on a particular topic. Our interactive format allows students to actively participate in the discussion. Since our seminars take place online through video conferencing software, students can participate at the comfort of their home or at any location.

One-​on-​One Online Tutoring

Online tutoring is a technology driven initiative that makes learning accessible, convenient, and very flexible. Online tutoring sessions are scheduled at a time that is most convenient to the student. While the tutor works out of an office, the student may receive tutoring at a place that is comfortable. Through a multitude of online tools, a student can receive tutoring through a mobile device while on the go, or at a computer while studying at their desk.

History

Established in 2014.

After attending our first biomedical and biotechnological symposium, we learned so much about the different areas of biomedical research and teaching opportunities at these conferences that we realized that this information and experience should be available to a wider audience. Indeed, as high school students we had no idea that symposiums like the ones we attended existed, yet we would have jumped at the chance to attend. At these symposiums, every seat in every session was taken and we recognized that this information was something students wanted and demanded. After attending the conferences, we decided that we could be the ones to expand on providing opportunities like these, but online. We founded the Sciences as a 501©(3) non-​profit online education company that applies the Flipped Classroom model to provide interactive e-​Learning content, guided problem-​solving, and one-​on-​one tutoring that helps student improve and excel in school and beyond.

Business Owner

Hello, my name is Anthony Dioquino and I would like to welcome you to the Sciences. Currently, I am a student at the Indiana University School of Medicine’s Biomedical Gateway and PhD Program.

I was a undergraduate student researcher at the Los Angeles Biomedical Research Institute. After graduating from California State University, Dominguez Hills, I began to work as a Lead Chemist for Praxair, Inc. As I began the Masters in Biology Program at California State University, Dominguez Hills, I was accepted into the National Institute of Health sponsored Bridges to the Doctorate Program at Indiana University School of Medicine.

After attending Biomedical Research and Biotechnology symposiums, I decided that I could expand on providing opportunities like these to students, but online. So I became involved in web development and programming to make accessible such an opportunity to students.

In 2014, I began the Biomedical Ph.D. program at Indiana University School of Medicine.
