Great customer service and great pricing. First time I came to this place and it was great. I was able to get an eye exam and was able to get contacts for the first time. I have been wearing glasses a long time and they were able to help me with the transition to contacts. They taught me how to put on and remove the contacts without struggling. They were very patient and helped me choose the best fit. I will definitely return to them for the years to come.

My experience with the actual eye doctor was good but the customer service as far as telling me she would give me until friday to get glasses or they would go back i told her no one had called me, she was really rude, when i went to office glasses wasnt even made, she talkd that smart and glasses hadnt been ordered.

My son and I have been patients here for at least 10 years and the customer service we received last week was PHENOMENAL! Now I have never had a bad experience here but this was the first time my son and I decided to go with contact lenses. My son who is 13 years old was having an extremely difficult time getting the contact lenses in his eyes but the young lady helping us by the name of Amber displayed a lot of patience with him and most of all encouragement to boost his confidence. I went there last week and had a great experience. I called the day before maybe 30mins before they closed and the gentleman who answered was very helpful. I got an appointment for the next day. I went in and had an eye exam the doctor was really nice as were all the people at the desk. It was a quick experience no hassle. Picked out a great pair of specks and had them a week later.

I have been here a few times and never received the customer service I experienced on the phone as I did today. A guy answered and could answer none of my questions there was a lady chiming in in the background. I asked to speak with her and she was very snotty. I was asked I wear contact lenses so my answer was no… not have I ever worn them. I was told«well he asked you if you wore contact and you said no.» Ummmm NO! I don’t appreciate the crap cx service. And the attitude.

Horrible Experience!!! I took off from work to bring my kids in, my son is getting fitted for contacts for the very 1st time… the lady over the phone explains copay, what’s covered and what’s not… etc she FAILED to explain there will be an additional $ 25 «Training Fee» well after my conversation with the representative I only brought $ 100. Without the«Training Fee» my charge was $ 96. I explained to the doctor and one of the employees that was assisting me. The doctor tells me I should reschedule for another day when I will have the money(What a slap in the face considering my kids have been here many times and I have given them plenty money) I explained to her I took off of work to come here and that is not easy for me, she walks away and the employee comes in with an attitude, slams contacts in front of my son and tells him to put them on. I got upset at her behavior and I proceeded to tell her she was disrespectful and she doesn’t have to act that way! She instantly response, your not paying for training, you said you can do it, so do it! EXCUSEME??? I said you know what that’s ok I’ll make sure I give a good review. She response go ahead! Do it! I COULDN’T BELIEVEWHATWASGOINGON!!! Another employee came took my $ 96 payment and balance billed me for the $ 25!!! When they could have offered that from the beginning! I have to go back next week to pick up my son contacts and pay them another $ 80 plus the $ 25 training fee… total $ 201 for exam and contacts with the BESTVSP coverage there is… Talk About a Rip Off!!! I WILLNEVERGOTHEREAGAIN!!!

These people only SELL glasses. With my insurance I would have paid only $ 69 for TWO(2) pairs of glasses but my doctor recommended(SOLD) me one pair of progressive glasses which blurs my vision and gives me a headache. Dr. Kim told me during my exam that my sight could never be improved; so why is she now telling me to continue to wear glasses that blur my vision until my eyes get used to them? This seems to me that my vision then is being made worse by the glasses since they can’t get better. Also, be careful what you sign when you’re in the eye doctors office and you don’t have your glasses on because you’re being told what it «means.» I can’t believe I fell for that. :( Now I have to wait another full year to get another doctor and replace the glasses.

On Saturday I walked into this office as I was walking in the Carson Mall. I wanted to get an eye exam and new glasses. They did take me even without an appointment which surprised me I was happy. They have a great selection of designer frames and they took my VSP insurance which made me happy since SEARS did not. I was seen by Dr. Julie Kim and she was fantastic and super friendly! The only thing that I really didn’t like was the wait to see the doctor. I must have seen Monster’s Inc. twice that day(was playing on their TV screen). I understand though since I did not have an appointment. but other than that I would recommend this office. :-)

I happened upon Dr. Shiomi’s office unexpectedly and ended up finding a doctor I REALLY like and will come back to. I was at work(in Carson) and was having contact issues. I removed my contact to clean it, and it broke, oops! I am BLIND, so there was no question of being able to make it through the day, and the options were get a coworker to drive me all the way home to Redondo Beach to get glasses, to West LA to my usual eye doctor, or find another contact nearby ASAP! I looked up doctors in the area who take VSP insurance, and found Dr. Shiumi’s office. I rushed in the second they opened without an appointment and Dr. Michelle Kim was able to see me right away. I wear RGP lenses, which have to be made specially, so Dr. Kim gave me a pair of soft lenses to wear until I got my new pair. She also gave me an extremely thorough eye exam and took pictures of my cornea and optical nerve and then explained them to me. I went back for my followup appointment and lens fitting the next week and again, the visit was fast and the doctor really took care to ensure that my lenses were fitting properly. Overall, I was extremely happy with my experience. I wasn’t expecting anything great out of the initial visit, I just desperately needed contacts. In the end, I found a new eye doctor!
