Established in 1982.

As of today, BM European Auto Service & Repair is one of the largest independents in the Los Angeles area. We invest in software, diagnostic equipment and tools to match the level of service that in the past could only be done by the dealer, but without the screaming high price tag of the franchise.

BM European Auto Service & Repair has been a family owned and operated business since 1982 and was founded by Zak and Anna, who originally came here from a small country called Latvia.

Zak’s specialty has been in the European category for over 35 years. He began working on European cars at the age of 16 with the curiosity and drive to be the best, moved up to being an aviation technician for many years, and eventually started his own business in the auto repair industry.

Our mechanics are all master technicians, ASE certified and specialize in European cars as well. Our first priority is making sure you have the best possible experience and you can drive with confidence and safety!

I took my vehicle to a number of places before coming here. Now I’ve been here three times, and I drive TWO HOURS to reach them. That should say it all!
Im happy with every aspect of their service. But mostly I like the sense of being treated fairly.
Last week I had a LOT of work that needed to be done, and they got it done well, in a day.
The person who helped me was Danny. Ask for him, he’ll do you right. Cant say enough good things, this place rocks. Take your car here, you’ll be glad you did.

A huge THANK YOU to you guys, again! Although I live out here in Palm Springs, I am happy to take my Mercedes to you for repairs. It is important to me, as a woman, to get great repairs, and not get fleeced on prices. You are so much better than the dealer. My second time here, and once again, very impressed with the kindness of the staff, and the cleanliness of the service area. The customer service here is exceptional. A few weeks ago, I went to the shop for the first time and received a complete diagnostic check on my vehicle (2009 Mercedes C300). Everything was explained to me and I was advised of the things that would be needed. I wasn’t pressured into getting any services.
I went back, just yesterday to begin the repair on the list. The service (service b and brake replacement) was completed quickly and didn’t break the bank!
Again, customer service was exceptional. I appreciate the help, sincerity and honesty from BM European Auto.

BM gets my vote !! I have been bringing my Mercedes to BM since 2010 and the service that I receive is by far VIP status. The quality of the service and care that the mechanics provide is exemplary and most of all the owner and his wife and sons they go the extra mile for their customers. These guys are amazing. My Porsche Cayman S needed a change oil and luckily I found Lenny and his team.
Porsche dealer tried charging me $ 470 for the oil change… Uuuuugh no thanks.
I called BM asked if they can do my car and they said come anytime! Located in Gardena near the 110⁄91 freeway it’s pretty easy to get there.
I purchased the coupon and honestly didn’t even need to do it, he said he would honor price. Which is dope! I ended up paying $ 149 for everything! Wow even cheaper than my 2006 Bmw 6 series.
If you need any service this is your spot. Trust me! Thank you Lenny for hooking me up! My car feels way better!

I’ve brought my car to a lot of European car specific shops around the South Bay and BM’s is definitely tops for me now. Thought my car needed a brake pad replacement so I called in, received an estimate, which I thought was fair, and decided to drop the car off the next day.
After dropping it off and a few hours later, Danny called me and informed me that my brake pads were actually fine and described in detail was to what could’ve caused the sounds I was hearing. I thought it was very informative.
Really like the transparency and the friendly service overall. They also offer pick up & drop off service if needed!

I have been a customer of BM Auto since 2012 back at their old location. Although I have sometimes used other shops simply because of geographic challenges, I consider this place to be my number 1 go to shop for my VW Jetta. Each one of the staff members know me by first name so when I call, they already have an idea of what’s going on with my car. Lenny and Danny always give it to me straight and they don’t get pushy if I cannot afford a specific repair. However, I take their recommendations seriously as they have always been accurate. When they say something is critical, I know it’s critical and I find a way to pay for the repairs.
Pricing is extremely competitive. Typically, the lowest in the area. If the repair is super expensive, I will shop around out of necessity but they’ve always given me (or matched) the best price in town within reason.
I use them everything… from oil changes up to major repairs and I have never been disappointed with the work. I am extremely grateful to have found this shop and I recommend them over any German repair shop in Los Angeles.

This is my first Unilocal review but these guys definitely deserve it. It is hard to find someone to trust with European import repairs when out of warranty, but Danny and the team provided only the repairs I needed, as well as suggestions for future repairs within general time frames just so I was aware. There are only two shops I trust with my 2011 328i (the other being in Santa Barbara), but this place is definitely the best in the South Bay Area. Look forward to being serviced again!

Thank God I found this place! Brought my ML350 in for a Service B at 40k miles. Price was very reasonable, lower than other auto shops I called! I’m very happy with the service they provided, they even fixed my 12v lighter port for no additional cost! Duration of service was reasonable as well, they even offer drop off and pick up services at no cost! Dani and the staff were very friendly and accommodating. The shop was clean and in a safe location. Couldn’t ask for a better place to take my Benz. Will definitely take my ML350 here for future services. Highly recommended!

Great place to get your Girlfriend I mean Audi worked on. Took my B8 S4 in for a rear brake job and oil change. This was my first time and they Really made me feel at home and welcomed. Great repair shop. Thanks Dani for taking care of of my baby.

Finding mechanics to work on a European Diesel Motorcycle Hauler isn’t the easiest task, but if you’re looking for the folks that know European vehicles, you found em at BM. Besides being extremely knowledgeable on every aspect of my strange Frankenstein Vehicle, the fellas here are exceptionally likeable, gregarious and helpful. Danny will always remember your name and make you feel like he’s your best buddy working on your vehicle, Lenny will walk you through every detail of what is going on with the car and help you find the cheapest parts and even make suggestions to save you money and if you happen to come at the right time, sometimes Zach may even get you breakfast from the food trucks while you wait on your vehicle to get finished. Such nice fellas! Plus they have the best shop mascot in their not-​so-​scary junk yard dog!

Thank you for great customer service. My dealer wanted to charge me double for the same job. My car was fixed while I took a lunch and was returned to me clean with no stains or finger prints like I experienced once at the dealer. Ill be back for sure!!! Hopefully not soon though :)

Total PROS! These guys repair and service my Land Rover LR3 and Mercedes c30. They are honest and do what is needed only guaranteeing all of their work.
This shop is Computerized and able to service and repair these high-​end cars quickly and efficiently with the same competency as any dealership without overcharging.
Very nice friendly and considerate — my go to repair shop for both cars!

I have been trying to search for a BMW mechanic for months and with pressing problems on my 1998 BMW, I had to find a shop that would provide me with the right solutions fast. Thanks to other great reviews on Unilocal,I decided to give the BM European Auto Mechanics shop a try.
The customer service was better than I expected and the problems on my car were solved instantly. They are experienced and asked me all the right questions about the history of the car before jumping under the hood, which showed me that they wanted to thoroughly examine every possible cause of my car problems. I asked plenty of questions myself, which they were happy to answer honestly.
Their lounge room for customers is pretty cool and comfy. The mechanics communicated clearly and effectively with me about my car. No more car worries :)

They recently moved to a new Location maybe 2 – 3 months ago
Place is much bigger, and brighter, and has a nice studio vibe look to it.
They also have a awesome waiting room that is still being remodeled and it has a nice pool table and a tv. Once they get a sofa in there, it will be fantastic.
I first came here in 2012 when i got into an accident in my 5 series.
They were very friendly and helpful, and kept me well informed and communicated with me throughout the whole repair. The customer service was fantastic as I was offer rides a couple times back to my office when I was stranded there.
Because of my previous experience i bring my new car in there now to do minor work.
Met Dani for the first time, and This is a great guy. We talked about watches and cars, and was extremely professional.

Great service, great price, great communication!
Clean, organized, professional and attentive. I brought my Lexus RX 450h in for a blown out tire (my fault). My Lexus Santa Monica dealer quoted $ 550 to replace the tire, get it balanced, and aligned with the other tires. I thought that seemed super high for just one friggin tire.
Dani and Lenny were able to track the correct tire ahead of time, give me a time frame to bring the car in, gave me a quote over the phone for the whole thing, and it was HALF THE PRICE of the DEALER QUOTE.
Sold! I’m bringing my car here for anything else it might need.

Btw, I’m reading all the «bad» reviews and also looked at the «unrecommended reviews by the Unilocal robot» — so much BS. You HAVE to see for yourself. Don’t trust disgruntled Unilocal reviews when people just want to vent. Who knows what else they’ve been going through and willing to damage a small company’s reputation just to spite them.
