New Image Salon

Just had a mani/​pedi and couldn’t be happier. Lein was my manicurist and she was the gentlest manicurist I have had. While I am just visiting I will certainly ask for her on my next trip to CARSON city.

I am so happy that I found the New Image Salon!
Laura was recommended to me so I went right away to meet her, and made an appointment. I went to her for a root touch up, and she did a great job!

The place itself is not sanitary, and it is sad to say that this is the way most if not all nail salons in Carson are. They do not keep up on their appointments, and it is easier to just be a walk in and get the same if not better treatment. Louis is the saving grace of this nail salon and the only reason I will give any! He spends so much time on each individual person and knows exactly what you want with even the smallest description. I would definitely go to him. However, I am looking for a new salon seeing as this place is just simply gross.
DO NOT let the lady with the short hair do your nails. She is rude, very poor with her work, and has no awareness when it comes to sanitation or hygiene regarding customers.

Laura, one of the hairstylists there was doing my hair and makeup for prom. I asked that she did curls that hung below my eyes and it had kind of a retro look. She ended up curling my hair in, instead of out and my curls where tight on the top of my head. Exactly what I did NOT want. She also attempted to do my makeup. The redness on my skin was showing, and my eyes weren’t finished also. She constantly was rushing. By the end of this whole ordeal I was traumatized and still had to find a way to get my hair and makeup done for prom. I paid her and left and had my little sister do my hair and makeup for prom. It costed $ 60 for hair and makeup, I called to at least have half of my money refunded, and she would not refund me. I went home crying and didn’t have time to go out to dinner before the dance, she wasted my time. I specifically told her that I hated everything about my hair and makeup. I can definitely say, she does outdated work. She also does not care if the costumer is happy or not. Don’t go to her if you plan on getting a modern hairstyle of any sort. Overall, I had a terrible lead up to prom because my eyes were puffy from crying. I’m lucky I had my sister to help, because if not, I probably wouldn’t have gone to prom altogether!

I have been going to Kahn for years! I love her! She does AMAZING hair and gets how girls want big sexy hair! She is honest and will tell you if what you are wanting to do is not healthy for your hair. She does amazing styles and colors. Donna and Louis give the best pedicures in town! Louis is AMAZING and gives the best massage during pedicure I have ever had!

My daughter and I went to New Image Salon and this time she came back with more than she wanted. Sure her toe nails were cute, but she also got a STAPH INFECTION! We will NEVER go back. Our first clue should have been when the lady reached over and grabbed a buffer from the lady doing my toes. I wish I could have given them zero stars, but I had to pick at least one.

One of the hairdressers, Olivia, is probably one of the best cutters I have ever encountered. As a former salon owner, I appreciate a good pair of hands, a great personality, and a pleasant atmosphere in which to get one’s hair cut. Well done, clearly worth a try, if you’ve never been.

Horrible manicure. They were running a special for manicure-​pedicure combo. Great pedi by a different stylist… horrible manicure BY THE OWNER of the salon. Rushed through my manicure, to get to a group of people who had just walked in. Used a dirty paper towel to set my hands on for the whole process and kept wiping it over my hands, getting nail clippings and cuticle clippings all over my skin, which was later rubbed into my skin during the meager 1.5 minute massage of my arms.
While my nails were drying for 15 minutes or so (something rediculous) I had to constantly keep looking in his direction to try to get him to come over and wipe all the polish off my skin and cuticles that he had slopped everywhere. Will NOT be coming back to new image salon, and would not recommend their nail services, especially to anyone who cares even Slightly about good customer service…

I first stumbled onto this gem of a salon in the fall of 2009 after looking for someplace that could repair the botched-​up nail job I’d received at the Carson City Beauty Academy. I called New Image in desperation, and Donna, one of the manicurists, was able to get me in the same day. Donna’s work is professional and the finished look is perfect. I prefer the more natural look of a French manicure, but their polish selection is incredible if you’re looking for a color. As for pricing, I find New Image Salon to be quite reasonable.
New Image Salon not only does manicures but pedicures and hair styling as well. They also graciously cater to wedding parties. The interior is newly re-​decorated with a spa type atmosphere. This is a nice surprise to find in a shop located between The Grocery Outlet and Nevada Gun Exchange.
Having only had my nails done here, I can’t accurately review the hair styling side of the business. But, I can say that the gals that are leaving after having their hair «done» all look nice and seem pleased with their new looks.
So here it is a year after my first visit, and I am still having Donna do my nails every other week. AND I’m still loving the finished look of my nails.
