Southwest Spine Center

I’ve been going to Southwest Spine Center for years now, and refuse to go anywhere else. Here’s how I ended up at Southwest Spine Center:
I was in a car wreck years ago and went to another chiropractor in Lewisville, and they did an acceptable job. However, they messed up the paperwork and put my insurance coverage in jeopardy! I swore off chiropractors because of this (I know, not a great idea). A year or so later, this decision caught up with me, and I was in PAIN! I did a quick google search and called Southwest Spine Center right before they closed. The doctor actually answered the phone, and told me to come on by and knock on the door if it was locked. She checked my back, found the problem, and 10 minutes later I was able to go back to work!
I continued coming in once every week, then once every two weeks for the next few years until I had to move to Oklahoma for work. When I came back to Dallas, I immediately called Southwest Spine Center and set up a new appointment. After about 9 months, I decided to mix it up and try a new person for the Massage Therapy/​Myotherapy portion of my care.
This is where Lydia comes in. She’s an absolute all-​star! She’s good at what she does, has an excellent personality, and really makes a noticeable difference when she works on my back (or legs/​arms/​neck). She’s strong when she needs to be, and knows when to back off on the pressure. She’ll tell you when you need to suck it up and push through something because it has to be done, and she’ll listen if you tell her it’s too much. Exactly what is needed from a massage therapist. I want to be clear, her massages are not «fun». She’s there to do work to get your muscles to do their job properly, and it’s not comfortable.
If you’re willing to deal with some pressure for an hour in exchange for feeling great the rest of the week, she’s number one! Another thing I love about Lydia — half the time, she sees me walk in and knows what’s bothering me just from my posture! She’s on her game!
I recommend Southwest Spine Center to anyone. If you go here, Lydia is THE NUMBER ONE way to get your muscles to act right while the chiropractors get your bones to behave.

Lydia Rodriguez changed my life. When I first visited Southwest Spine, I had been struggling with debilitating chronic neck pain for over a year. Opioids and half of the pharmacy at Walgreens, surgeries, facet injections and even a stimulator trial; I had tried it all. The next step was a morphine pump which of course I did not want. I was 35, bed bound and completely miserable.
Then I found my way to Lydia. I call her the «Queen of Muscles» and although her massages are not the relaxing whale music sort of thing, I know that after an hour on her table I will feel a level of relief that I have never reached with any medication.
Lydia has spent years perfecting her technique and is as smart as a whip. On top of this, she is compassionate and cares deeply for her patient’s wellbeing. She is giving me my life back one massage at a time: I can go to the movies, out for dinner, spend time with my family and just enjoy myself without constantly thinking about my pain. 15+ pain and other specialist doctors have shrugged their shoulders and written me off as a lost cause. Lydia gave me hope and has done more to ease my pain than all those 15+ doctors combined and then some.
Lydia, there are neither the words or enough riches in the world to properly thank you for what you have done, and continue to do for me.
To the doctors and staff at iSpine, I also want to thank and salute you for your ongoing support and understanding as well as your top-​notch chiropractic and PT treatments. I feel a little better every week because of you.

Going to this chiropractor was a very disappointing experience. Dr. Carr, the main chiropractor, is leaving next month to start a new practice with his wife. Unfortunately, he has already checked out.
I went to this chiro after being recommended to go there by my roommate. My complaint was severe sciatica, most likely based in my piriformis muscle. Dr. Carr was attentive during my initial visit, but did not try to isolate the source of the sciatic pain. Instead, he took my back X-​rays with their machine, which creates low resolution/​contrast images compared to newer machines. After that, Dr. Carr seemed significantly more interested in selling me on the expensive decompression procedure. While this does make my lower lumbar feel looser, it does absolutely nothing to help the sciatica. Similarly, I asked if this practice does percussion therapy, and was told they do. This was important because when I had sciatica pain two years ago, percussion therapy in the piriformis muscle is what fixed it. Dr. Carr seemed to ignore this information, and only half-​heartedly attempted the percussion therapy for brief periods using a broad head that doesn’t get down into the muscle and was therefore not therapeutic.
End result is that after 7 visits, and $ 750 (cash customer) I am in significantly more pain now than I was in when I first went there three weeks ago. I give this practice the second star only because of the front office staff and their massage therapy team, especially Melissa.

It seems that the clinic is falling apart from within. There’s a high turnover of staff and no one who can really tell me what’s going on. The co-​founder, Dr. Sandra Powers, now lives in California but has apparently sold the clinic to an investment group. Ordinarily, this wouldn’t be a problem except that I purchased a treatment package from her, which she no longer offers but refuses to refund my money. This displays a complete lack of integrity and professionalism.
Longer Version:
I purchased a treatment package from Dr. Sandra Powers at Southwest Spine Center. She issued me a certificate stating that there was no expiration date for the treatment, as I was planning to get pregnant and could not undergo this specific treatment while pregnant or nursing.
The same treatment package was being offered by Living Social, but in talking with Dr. Powers, I learned that she would benefit financially if I purchased it from her, so I did in order to help out her business. Additionally, she could designate that there would be no expiration to the service I purchased.
After I gave birth to my son, I called Southwest Spine Center to book my treatment sessions and was told that the specific treatment that I bought is no longer offered, so I requested a refund. I provided a copy of my treatment certificate and my bank statement with the original purchase price.
I was denied a refund even though the service I bought is no longer offered.
So now, Dr. Powers has the $ 899 that I gave her for a service that I did not and will not receive.

I LOVE Dr. Carr!!! I am a college student, ex-​student athlete who was used to have routine chiropractic since I was 13. I had not had an adjustment for quite some time, and my back and neck were killing me. Dr Carr was very caring, and fixed me up in no time. The prices are very reasonable considering the excellent care he gives, and they offer toxin releasing footpaths — yes the work, and great massages!

After 2 years at SW Spine Center, my family moved to Arlington. Although we have visited many chiropractors in the area, we finally made the decision to make the trip into Arlington to continue using the doctors at SW Spine Center.
We always leave feeling better, Dr. Michael Carr really knows his stuff. He is personable and informative explaining why we hurt and how we can make it better on our own. Our favorite physical massage therapist is Charlotte, she is amazing. She has a light touch when you have normal aches and pains but can get in there deep when you have an issue that needs attention.
