Not as authentic as I thought it would be. More bread, than meat. Could have used a little more cheese. I’ll keep searching!

Food is amazing and the service is even better. I’ve had Philly cheesesteak from philly and I will definitely say this is one of the few places that comes close to it. They’re always busy which is always a sign bit if you call ahead and order you can save some time. I had my whole office try it and they all loved it and goes there regularly. If you’re ever in Carrollton area I would say try it. The ONLY bad part is that they’re not open that late

Y’all don’t even know. These Phillies are so downtown, they like the police station! Right? They so downtown, you can roll to ‘em from uptown. Know what I mean?

Good cheesesteaks… Although, is there a bad cheesesteak… Cheese, steak, onions… The facility is a little rundown and dirty, it’s definitely a hole in the wall. The fries were a little sad, & the fried pickles were more fried than pickle… But altogether it was good for the price, but the sandwiches are what you go for, not the negligible sides!
In a very unassuming location, awesome and delicious… I’m not from philly so I can’t vouch for authenticity but it was fresh, hot, and spot on!

Definitely a unique place serving up some crazy cheesesteaks and unique sides like fried jalepenos and pickles. Worth a try if you have a craving for a good cheesesteak.

My husband and I love Fred’s and have eaten here for a couple of years. Carrollton restaurant even has gluten free rolls! Being gluten intolerant, it made my day. But when we unwrapped our sandwiches, we were shocked to see very little meat. Sad to see since a true philly cheesesteak means piles of meat on a roll. This was the second time. We will be switching to Jersey Mike’s for our cheesesteak.

The Philly cheesesteaks here are amazing! Authentic too. Restaurant is old and could be cleaner but I couldn’t bring myself to give them 4 stars because the food and service is so on point. Try their house-made sauce if you have a chance!

I thought you could not find a good philly around here. Boy was I wrong. My brother showed me this place and it so amazing! Best philly I’ve had in Dallas. I just wish they were open on Sundays.

This is a cute little restaurant, it kind of had a hole in the wall feel to it. We tried the pastrami cheesesteak and the mushroom cheesesteak with BBQ sauce added and we got the philly straws which were super good. The cheesesteaks were pretty good, I don’t remember what the ones from the Philly tasted like so I can’t compare. The people working were very helpful and friendly as well. Over all we had a good meal experience.

Highlights: –Best authentic Philly I’ve had in Dallas! –Meat is very tender and not dry at all! –They give you enough cheese for the most part(but I don’t overdo the cheese, I’m more about the bread than anything) –Speaking of the type of bread-this venue uses real Amoroso Bread! The only bread worth using to make a Philly! –You can call in your order ahead of time if you prefer not to wait –Their homemade hot sauce adds an extra«umph» to the sandwich. Don’t skip out on it. Lowlights: –Fries are mediocre(tasted like they were not fresh and were frozen) Overall: I’ve been here twice! The first time with my hubby and he said it is more authentic than most chains such as Jersey Mikes(he worked there during college) and he enjoyed it! This place is nevertheless legit if you want a true Philly cheesesteak! Try it!

Nothing special about this sandwich. Tasted good, skimpy on the cheese. Place was small, smelled a little bad. Won’t drive out of my way again to eat here and would did definitely get it to go!!! I love hole in the wall joints but this place is just ok.

Greasy, quick, and fried. Exactly what you expect. After coming back home from PHL for work, I was in search of an «authentic» and this place definitely hits the spot.

I made the mistake of traveling to Philly in the past and not getting a cheesesteak… now I can say I feel like I’ve almost made up for it. This place is a hidden gem-the sandwiches are AWESOME, and priced very reasonably. They have a lunch special for the #2 w/fries and a drink for $ 8. Fries are average, but the secret sauce makes them better. Environment: have sports memorabilia on the walls, and have ESPN Classic playing. You’d probably drive by this place w/out a second look if you weren’t recommended it by someone. I’ll be back!

I’m a bit picky when it comes to phillies. Now I don’t know what makes a good one and what doesn’t. But I know what I like and what I don’t like. I got the #8 and it comes with mushrooms. Dustin D. got the Po’ Fred and it comes with Italian Sausage and we were both happy. I wish the whiz didn’t cost $ 1.50, I probably wouldn’t get it again for that reason alone regardless of how amazing it made my sandwich. Toothpicks were good.(Fried onion and jalapeño straws.) Fries were okay, might add the cajun seasoning next time. Make sure you grab some hot sauce, I hear they make it in house and it is awesome. Oh and the bread is perfect. Texadelphia is a joke compared to this place. And it’s better than Charley’s and Donny’s in Arlington. Fred for the MF’ing win. Will I come back? Every time Dustin D. has a hankering now, this is where we’ll be.

Okay, I’ll admit it; I avoided this place for the longest time because I was thinking to myself that the sandwiches weren’t going to be that good. I don’t even mean that in a snobby«This isn’t the REAL philly cheesesteak» kind of douchery, I just mean every time I drove by it didn’t seem to be that busy. But the reviews convinced me to try it, especially since they have fried pickles. And then I realized something. Every time I drove by it was around 8 at night and that’s when they closed… Durr I ordered the #2 with cheese whiz and some fried pickles. It was during lunch hour and the place was packed! It actually reminded me of a lot of old Chicago eateries where the line is out the door, you order and then kinda just stand on top of each other waiting for your order number to called out like Food Bingo or something. The guy next to me seriously looked like he was going to cry if his number wasn’t going to be called soon. I almost(ALMOST) offered him a pickle. Just one. The sandwich was not only a great value(9 bucks for my whole meal) but it was so good. The meat was tender, as was the bread. Even though I waited a good 25 mins(boy, they really do go in sequential order, huh?) it was well worth the wait. I appreciated how you can get your own hot sauce and the napkins on the tables so you don’t have to get up. They also had a sign I liked that I was going to photograph(but was afraid of getting pummeled by hungry patrons) that said, «No Microwaves or Heat Lamps Here, All Fresh» or something of the sort. Now give me more aerosol canned cheese whiz on my sammy and fried pickles dipped in store bought ranch!

This was one of those sandwiches that made me want to gorge myself! I was out this way and hadn’t eaten all day so of course I break out Unilocal and find this gem! I walked into the empty restaurant, which usually worries me, but OMG the smell that hit me was heavenly! I felt like the cartoons that rise up and float toward the delicious smell of food as the scent taunts. A nice gentleman appeared behind the counter and helped me decide what I was going to get. I almost got the #2 and then he suggested banana peppers, so I went with the #6 with sautéed banana peppers. I had never had them like that and it was ridiculous good! I tried the house hot sauce. It’s good but the sandwich didn’t need a thing. I will definitely be back next time I’m over here. They have a fan in me! (Sorry Texadelphia)
