Flamingo Beer & Wine

I like Flamingo! It’s the nearest place to home and I always stop in when I need something last minute. They have a great selection of beer, wine, etc. I even bought some decent cigars as a gift once on the way to a party. Everything is reasonably priced and the man behind the counter is always friendly. It doesn’t hurt that he always asks for my ID and comments on how young I look! If I’m being honest, I would probably keep going back just for that.

I’ve gone there probably a dozen times in the past 3 years now if I wanted something last minute for guests.
The regular guy that works there is friendly and nice — I think he cares for his customers and tries to help.
They have a list you can use if you have a special beer you want them to order. The regular guy insisted I put this beer I wanted on the list multiple times and said they would order it. I put it on the list along with my phone number 3 times in a row and they never ordered it — even though it was something they used to carry. Then this month I got a call out of the blue — they had some St. Arnold Endeavor in!
They stock some of the premium beers but if you ask they don’t really know much about beer or wine. They just recommend things that other people have asked for.
Don’t go last minute! One time I went for a last minute wine bottle and they locked the doors at 10:52 pm! I knocked on the door repeatedly and held up my iPhone to the owner showing that the time was not 11 pm yet and he just waived his arms and said he was closed even though the sign on the door right in front of me said they closed in 8 more minutes.

Close to my apt and super nice owner… Always calls me sweetheart
