Discount Tire Store – Carrollton, TX

After dropping off my fianće’s vehicle to replace two tires, I was awaiting the completion of the work when I discovered that J.C., the manager, released the vehicle to the WRONG person. No verification of ownership or identification was requested. When I asked JC how this happened, he stated that if someone knows a vehicle is there and they ask for it, why not give it to them? He was not the least bit apologetic, and it was now up to us to retrieve the vehicle, which was a considerable inconvenience. Be advised that this location WILL release your car to anyone who asks for it.

It was so nice to visit a business that’s not trying to give you the business. Went in with a screw in my tire and they took it right in, fixed it for free and I was on my way. Can’t ask for any better than that.

I had a really bad experience at this store, though I think it was an anomaly. It took them 5 tries to get the correct tire installed on the correct wheel. Honestly, they should be embarrassed if they aren’t already… Take pride in your work! I had to go to the store 4 separate times to get one tire installed! First time, the tire they sold me was defective and was flat by the time I got home. Returned to the store and they were nice enough to give me a temporary tire to drive until a better tire was delivered. Returned to the store for the third time (once they had my tire a couple days later). I drove around for a few days and noticed the car was not performing well at all. Noticed theyinstalled thewrong tire… The handling was squirrely and felt unsafe to drive at highway speeds. Returned this morning for the 4^th time and they got me in right away. Car was finished shortly thereafter. I checked to make sure they put the right tire on this time before leaving. Oops, they replaced the left front instead of the right front. Ok whatever, mistakes happen though you should probably check before this before performing service. I ask them to please replace the correct tire. They pulled it back in to the shop and proceeded to go work on other cars that came in after me. I watched this for about 10 minutes. Now I’m mad. I was patient until this point. Now they weren’t even trying. I tell them to go fix my car so I can leave. The manager is hiding somewhere in the back instead of supervising his tech to make sure the correct service is actually completed on the 5^th attempt. So, I decided to go supervise him myself. I asked the tech what tire he was putting on the car, so I could verify it was the correct one before the work was done incorrectly again. He refused to tell me, saying it was the tire that was always on the car. WTF! I raised my voice and said, no that tire was the wrong one. You were supposed to replace it with the correct tire, not just put it back on! This got the managers attention and he finally came out from wherever he was hiding. I said I just wanted to verify the tire was correct before they wasted more of my time. He told me to stop arguing. There’s no argument. Just give me the correct tire on the correct wheel. There’s nothing to debate here. Just give me what I paid for… Finally I was allowed to verify for myself that the tires were indeed correct. Now the car finally drives like it is supposed to. The manager did end up giving me the tire for free, which was appreciated and why I gave them 2 stars. Everyone at the store was nice until the very end when they wouldn’t let me verify the tire before they put in on again. I think they just need additional training on how to handle mistakes when they happen, and most importantly to verify the tire is correct before installing it. Make sure you check your tires before leaving the parking lot. Hopefully, I never have to return to this store again.

Can’t say enough good things about this discount tire location. I was greeted at the door by Shane, he immediately went to my car to examine a set of wheels and tires I wanted mounted on my 4runner. He pulled my SUV right in to be serviced. He has the crew mount only 1 tire so I could be sure I’d like the look and fit of it. Great job guys. I was in and out within 30 minutes!!! Never have I had such great customer service and prompt attention.

One word to describe this location… Amazing! I got a nail in my tire. it started out 35 pounds and a few hours later 20 pounds. my sensor was screaming at me «fix tgis tire NOW OR YOU’LL BE SORRY». Fine, I will. As soon as I walk in JC the store manager immediately acknowledged me. Told him the situation and he got my info. Wait time about 1hr and 30 mins… I hate waiting but it’s ok I’m gonna watch a movie. It was pretty crowded in there maybe 2 chairs to sit in put of 10. I didn’t make an appointment so. That’s not there fault. Free bottle water and no coffee. Next thing I know they called my name and said my tire is beyond repairing. They went ahead put new tire on prorated my old tire on the amount of tread. Original price $ 85 new tire $ 15. I haven’t drove much since February. Total tickets with tax $ 25.18. Whoo hoo! Thanks guys. cause of y’all warranty I am driving safer. So… coming back for all my tires.

I don’t know who is in charge of Customer Service training for Discount Tire but they deserve a big bonus! The best customer service anywhere, anytime! Remarkable.

I am always amazed @ Discount Tires’ honesty & their reasonable prices. In the past few years, I’ve had a less than perfect experience (I’m a tough customer) at the location nearest my home– in east Dallas, off NW Hwy– so my husband & I went to this one nearest my work. We arrived ten minutes before they closed. They were not only friendly– they offered to make fresh coffee for me (@ 6 pm) & the store was clean. Nobody huffed or glanced down @ their watches. They balanced all 4 tires, inspected 2 looking for leaks. Found a nail in one. Patched it after plugging it. Handed us our keys and then THANKED US for coming in! No bill… No attitude… Just a smile. We are grateful because it saved us time, grief, & a lot of money. This was a brand new tire on our new Volvo SUV. The tire is out of stock all over DFW. When we DO need new tires– THIS particular Discount Tire has definitely earned our business! Thanks guys!

Glowing reviews over the warranty, peculiar.
We told them numerous times we did not want the warranty and they put it on there anyway for each tire.
We are returning tomorrow to get the charges taken off. If they don’t, I’m prepared to complain to anyone and everyone I can from their corporate HQ, doubt I’ll get help there, to the attorney general’s office.
The only reason we went in is because of a flat and damaged spare, and couldn’t drive back home that way.
We made it very clear, and the guy kept talking us down. He finally said he wouldn’t put one on, and we actually believed him, and didn’t look at the paperwork till we got home. Unbelievable. We never get the warranty, patches or plugs are free anyway.
I can’t help but be cynical at some reviews. How does an average customer know how well stocked they are?

This guys are efficient and courteous. I still come here if I am in Carrollton. Easy to get to. Competitive prices. Plenty of stuff in stock.

I ran over a nail the other day, and my tire needed to be replaced due to the unfortunate location of the puncture. It was FREE because of the warranty! Hooray!
