You may not realize, but you truly do have a FANTASTIC GROUP working at Carrollton Springs! I wanted to just share a few things with you about my stay, my new found hope, and gratitude.
Mind you, I was as scared as I have ever been, unsure, and crying. But I knew something had to change in my life.
1. The KINDEST PEOPLE are working there. I didn’t meet anyone I thought didn’t care about what they were doing, and they seem to genuinely care about people. Hard to do a Pickle bc I believe they are all on the same level of sincerity. However, Erika, the morning tech, was the grand Marshall of all, or the Biggest Pickle! She was a smile in the sea of unknowns when you first arrive.
2. Day 2 I believe, I also saw BOTH of my doctors! SAME DAY, and… they really heard what I had to say. I mean, full eye contact, listened, and made changes as needed. So many Dr. s have in their head what they think, half listen, and Frustrating. But not at the ‘Springs’ They listen, take action, and I felt so much better for that experience in itself! I will continue with Dr Narayen because he is a gem, and I am truly grateful for finding him. Another amazing thing, he didn’t just throw a lot of meds to get you better. He listened, and EXPLAINED why he was changing the meds. Not just because of a different diagnosis, but why the previous meds weren’t working. AMAZING,
3. By the third day, a lady in the cafeteria noticed I had not been eating meat over the past two days, and offered to go make me a veggie burger! She not only was pleasant, kind and helpful, she noticed I don’t eat much meat. With all the patients in and out she noticed, and offered to help me right then. I was genuinely shocked, pleased, and literally felt like I mattered
4. The GROUPS WERE VERY HELPFUL, and therapists and techs genuinely listened and were interested in what you had to say. If someone brought up a question, they would make sure to let someone know or find out themselves, and find you to let you know whatever was the question or issue. My therapist, Ashli, for my group was amazing. Asked what we wanted to learn about, and responded with the content that was most helpful to the group. No one seemed to be in such a hurry to not answer a question, or help, or smile.
I told my sister with all of the types of groups, the information you can learn, is more spa like, minus the massages. I have not exercised, and felt that good about it, in years. The movement group was HONESTLY for all levels. I didn’t feel out of place, and younger fit ones
were pushing harder, and they too, were at their limit. Also reminded us of how to do a meditation, and why.
5. WOW! What a shock it was to find the DIRECTOR OF NURSING sitting in on a group, and addressed questions as needed immediately. And helped one person resolve an issue there and then. I then saw her later, and still so nice and helpful. And it was refreshing that yet again, I was treated as a human being, no less or more than, just a fellow human being. REFRESHING
6. And then, on Saturday night, I had terrible nightmares. I just mentioned it to the NURSE, and she wrote down the name of a medication for nightmares, to have me ask my Dr. It was so nice that she took the time to respond with something helpful, but knew to write it down. I saw Dr Narayen later, asked, started taking the meds, and haven’t had any nightmares since.
7. No joke… even the housekeeping crew was pleasant, kind, and helpful. You can tell that each person feels good about being a part of Carrollton Springs, and we as patients, appreciate the care each person does their job.

8. I have since started PHP, with Kasey Flannigan. I really didn’t think I could continue such an amazing journey, but yet, you made it happen with a wonderful, insightful, caring, beautiful soul. I am lucky to be in the group I am in, and lucky that this is part of the treatment plan. It is scary as heck to think of ‘being thrown out to the wolves of uncertainty, fear, anxiety, & hopelessness’. Even when we think we are ready to be on our own sometimes, the comfort of being able to talk about, process, and learn new ways of handling things is comforting.
9. I did spend my 49^th birthday while inpatient, and at first wasn’t too happy about it. But again, by the end of the 3^rd day, I changed my mind. This was my birthday gift to myself, for a better year, a positive year. I was and am finding the old me who has been lost in the depression, fear, and anxiety of just leaving my house. The horrible toll that this can take on a person is excruciating. And yet, I FOUND HOPE, I LAUGHED, I inspired others, and they inspired me. I found I was likeable, that I enjoyed laughing, how fun it is to dance and do stretches, and to socialize.
Challenges will be ahead, but I have a positive outlook for my future, and Hope.

It’s your choice to better your life. Carrollton Springs is clean and respectfull if you have the want to better your life I recommend checking in. As for any clean and respectful business that operates BOTH the staff and the clients must be willing to change lives for the better.

The receptionist Helen is always helpful and understanding even when she has several things going on. Always a welcoming smile. Adrian is always encouraging and helpful when we arrive. Considering the patients all have tough situations, it is so nice to be greeted with open welcoming smiles and compassion. Thanks, great staff and understanding people who show the true meaning of compassion and empathy.

Came to Carrollton Springs as a result of knowing about their sister location in SW Ft. Worth. The staff is caring, personable, and knowledgeable about substance abuse. Outpatient Group Therapy is a safe place where you feel secure in openly talking with your peers and learning about yourself while listening to others. Would highly recommend Carrollton Springs to anyone who is looking to be honest and real about their addictions, and looking for a place to learn the tools to keep them in the light as they look forward to a new sober, clean life.

This place really was a place to hone in on how to cope with substance abuse. What makes this place different then most places I have «attended» is that they encompass the education of balance of the mind, body, and spirit. They have a «lets get honest attitude» about your recovery. The staff was excellent. Bottom Line… If you are really looking for a place to get really honest about working a great program of life and are willing to accept all the good and bad of yourself. This place will bring out all of you to prepare yourself to get back into life. Thank you Deborah! You have given me a chance to enjoy life again.

I wouldn’t recommend Carrollton Springs to anyone. There are lots of reasons, but it seems that the other reviewers have covered most of them.

This place was so great for me. First off, I’m atheist, and they never once tried to get me to attend a faith-​based session, or read any spiritual literature. They have therapies specifically designed for people who don’t want any type of religion incorporated, so those reviewers may not have known those were available.
Also, they they offer so many different types of physical activities! From dance, to yoga or Zumba classes (which we gentle, and can be easily modified for physical limitations), to true exercise classes. Also, the facility is really clean and nice.
The staff are all REALLY nice (all but one, but I won’t base my entire experience on one negative person), and they genuinely cared about everyone. They took the time to learn everyone’s name, and they would stop and talk to you to see how your day was going. Bonus: the food was decent.
My complaints: I’m a smoker and would definitely have preferred more patio breaks (minor complaint in comparison). Also, sometimes the staff could be inconsistent with some of the minor rules, like when you could take a shower, or what hygiene items you could have in your room. But, they wouldn’t reprimand you, they would simply explain what the rule is, and actually show you to truly clarify.
The therapy sessions were extremely beneficial as well, and I LOVED my therapist, Ashli! She was extremely down to earth, and she took the time to get to the root of the reasons for being there.
***Update***
I completed the outpatient therapy here with Kristi, and it was some of the best therapy I have ever received. Yes, there were many days I didn’t want to go, but I knew that those were the days I would get the most out of it. My group was very diverse, but it was like a small family, and we shared many joys and breakthroughs together, with Kristi showing us how to truly be the best version of ourselves and that we are worth loving ourselves. It’s been a couple of months, but I know that if I really needed to, I could still call her and reach out in a crisis. I feel like she really cared about me as a person, and I wasn’t just a number to her.
It was a very calming place, and was exactly what I needed. I never once felt judged.

Our doctor recommended this facility, he later apologized. I would not recommend this facility to anyone. The doctors here are unethical and unprofessional — lacking any skills, knowledge or time to help patients. They severely over-​medicate the patients, to the point of risking their safety — especially if they are female. This is completely unnecessary and only adds to whatever problems a person came here for help. They will medicate them regardless of what issues they are seeking help for, no history and zero evaluations. The nurses and techs are in a very difficult position to help patients but they do their best. However, the doctors run the show, Dr. Mehta — should be reported to the medical board. If you need assistance I’ve heard Right Step might be a good option, be sure to thoroughly check out any facility you choose. Reviews on Unilocal really are helpful!

Unfortunately, I have experience with a few of these places. I’ll break down my review…
1. Facilities: very nice. Clean and comfortable. Food is pretty good on family night. The people we encountered were pleasant but it seemed a bit under staffed.
2. Treatment: My son came from ICU with some pretty severe medical issues that needed to be monitored with his heart and a chemical burn on his arm from the meds he was given… again, he came directly from ICU. He came with some meds but the Dr.‘s said their psychiatrists, not dr’s so they could not pets tie pain meds or heart meds… then why except patients from ICU? They had to go but gauze for his burn to wrap it but didn’t have the right tape so they used scotch tape. again, why accept patients from ICU? As family we never talked to a dr, no family therapy. Our «family session was a discharge meeting less than 48 hours in.
He then went to out patient and after 2 weeks he failed a drug test because he had a heart cath through a hospital and the meds registered. He old them he had paperwork to back it up and they DISCHARGED him within two hours. I’m sure there was really an issue with insurance… but discharge that fast? We had no idea e was done, had no outside Dr’s lined up (because we expected him to stay longer) and wen though they knew he moved back in with me, never even sent a note o me more or less called or talked to me.
I could not be more upset with this place and we will continue his treatment elsewhere.
