Looks a little sketchy from the outside but inside was nice and food was delicious. Had brisket, pulled-pork NC style, green beans, baked beans, hush puppies and mashed potatoes. All were top-notch. Will definitely go again and can easily recommend to others.

I’ve been eating BBQ all my life. This one is very average. prices are a little high too. Other items were pretty good but again. A little $$$ for what you get.

This place is the best !! Love the BBQ sandwich combo, either St Louis or NE Carolina style, comes with massive order of fries and sweet tea. The best !!

The best(smoked in-house) BBQ in Hampton Roads. They have NC Chopped, St. Louis Pulled and St. Louis style ribs for pork lovers and Beef Brisket, half Chicken and Smoked Burgers as well! Grilled Ribeye, Grilled Salmon and Fried Catfish if you’re not in the mood for BBQ. Love the hush puppies and Cole Slaw, you can’t go wrong here!

The food is awesome! The only bad thing I will say is the prices are crazy high for bbq. A basic sandwich would be around 6 and then for a side and drink it comes to around $ 10. Not for bbq! I think of inexpensive and family fun when it comes to bbq. I love going but have to make sure we budget before we go. Overall though the food and food variety is great!

Very nice but very plain décor. Patrons order at the counter then sit in Formica booths chairs etc. waitstaff brings out the food. The food and staff are simply wonderful. If you want white linen, this ain’t your place, but if you want great ribs etc, chow down. Btw. The owners are there, so the attitudes are spot on.

One of my favorites in the area and the only place I trust for BBQ. All of the meat is smoked and served naked so you can sauce it as you like. The St. Louis sauce is my preference. I have to admit, I usually get the pulled pork dinner but occasionally the brisket will call to me. The chicken is good also but it’s hard to mess up chicken.

Located at the end of a strip mall, this BBQ spot is a bit of a hidden gem. You order at a window and food is brought out to you, with a staff member checking in from time to time. Dinners come with free chips and salsa which is a nice surprise. As far as the food goes– everything we have had has been great. The chicken tenders are crispy and keep you wanting more. The chopped pork has great flavor, made better by some extra vinegar and hot sauce. Sides are all quality and appear to be made in house. Ambiance is kind of what you would expect– open and airy feeling, offering both booths and tables. Country décor lines the walls including pictures of pigs and motorcycles. If you are heading by on Carrollton Blvd, stop by and have dinner! Also, they are soon coming to the peninsula– the owners are opening a new location in Hampton on Magruder.

Staff was very friendly, but the food was not good. I got the burger and fries both cold. The burger had a very smokey taste and was hard. I always wanted to try this place but I don’t think I will return.

If you have ever been to county grill or smoke then this place sucks in comparison. Prices are a complete rip off for the amount of food you get as well. Paid almost 18 dollars for about 5 or 6 Oz of meat, 2 tiny cups or sides and 4 hush puppies. I don’t recommend this place for the insane price of crappy BBQ

I was there at 6:30PM on a week night. All of the food is reheated in a microwave. Meat was tough. Truly a disappointing meal. Nice staff but slow to serve.

Great hole-n-the-wall bbq joint. The bbq nachos were amazing! I was super impressed. I had the brisket which I personally thought was a little tough. Mashed potatoes were great. My husband had the ribs and he loved them. Really wish I could go back just for the nachos.

Had Bubba and Franks wings at the recent HR Chamber of Commerce Wild Wing Fling competition at the Portsmouth Harley Davidson Dealership. Their wings were hands down the best ones there. Glad to see a local small business like this making good food and being recognized for their efforts. Job well done guys.

The food was delicious! We had the rib plate combo, bbq nachos, and bbq quesadilla. We can be particular about something when eating out, if we can make it at home why order it? However all of this was worthy of ordering! It is definitely a diamond in the rough — as you step in you would never picture this from the outside. My parents are regulars here, my friends are regulars here, this was my first time here as my husband and I live out of town, but we’ll definitely be asking to go back here next time in town!

The brisket was delicious. It was tender and full of flavor. The Carolina BBQ Sandwich was good as well. They give you ample pork on the sandwich. However, the sides(Mac & cheese) tasted like it came from the box. The slaw was OK. I went back today and got the ½ chicken with fries. I’ll tell you about that after its been eaten. Oh, the cornbread bites, I guess that’s what I’ll call them taste great.

I have been here at least 10 times since I moved to north Suffolk a little over a year ago. I will never go back to this location again. I may not eat at their Va Beach location either. The girl who took our order was surly and lied right to my face. I should have known something was up when I walked in. The three employees looked like they didn’t want to be bothered with another customer. The young woman made her way to the register and was a bit impatient when my son was making his side choice.(He’s 8.) Still, I really, really wanted a smoked turkey sandwich and sweet potato fries. When we were done ordering, I asked her politely if they have a military discount. She gave me the dependa treatment. First she said that it was for people wearing the uniform. I said, «well, my husband just shows his card.» So then the story was it was just a discount on the service members meal, not an overall discount. Now I know what you’re thinking, here’s the thing. My husband was right outside waiting with our rambunctious 4 year old. It was his idea for me to ask for the discount, because he had gotten it before. I told him before I went into BnF that it would be better for him to go in, but he insisted it would be alright. Anyways, this chic acted like I was trying to get over on her. God forbid we get a $ 2 discount on nearly $ 30 worth of food. All she had to say when I asked was a) «no» or b) «you have to be active duty», but she had zero customer service skills. So, like the simp I am, I paid for the food. I told her we would get our drinks when our food was ready(to go). I was hurt that I was treated like some freeloader by a place I loved, but also, I knew once I told my husband how things went down he would be mad at me. He was like«and you still got it? Why didn’t you come get me?» He went to explain that he was right outside and showed her his active duty id. She said it was too late. So now I’m the donkey. I wasn’t even hungry anymore. It wasn’t about the little bit of money we would have saved, though every little bit helps, it was the rude way she read me and tried to make me feel stupid for asking. After enough side eye from my husband, I went in to cancel the order and get my money back. The clerk dicked around like she didn’t know how to get a refund. She went to get a guy from the back who I guess is a manager to come see if I really wanted a refund. He apologized for the«misunderstanding», but I just wanted my money back. Clerk girl didn’t know what to push, how to print out a receipt showing our money was credited back to my debit card, or anything else, but when the manager told me to call him if I didn’t see the credit back to my account by tomorrow morning, she interrupted, «it actually may take 2 to 3 days.» Oh, so she knew that. I wrote this review because I am heartbroken that a place I patronize so frequently could treat me like a bum on the street. I don’t feel entitled to military discounts. I don’t ask for them when I’m not with my husband. But after all the negativity I received from BnF tonight, I can never go back.

I have eaten here twice, the first time it was okay… but the second time the chicken on my sandwich tasted old, maybe even spoiled. It was covered in tons of sauce, cheese and bacon so I am sure they knew it wasn’t fresh and wanted to hide it. I won’t eat here again after that. If they are serving old meat I don’t even want to think about what else goes on in their kitchen. Yuck.

They are open Sundays. Fantastic bbq, brisket, sides. The staff is friendly, the place smells so good when you walk in. Food is good. But it’s slow to come out. When busy, you will be waiting awhile. They offer free kids meals on Monday nights. We like the food, but overall it’s expensive for our family to eat here and the food coming out is slow. So we have to be in the mood to wait…

Bubba N Franks is great! I went today for the first time and love the place. On walking in the aroma of the smoked meats was fantastic. A man behind the counter(who I think is one of the owners) greeted us and asked if it was our first time there. When I said yes — he said welcome and let us know if we can help you with anything and directed us to the spot to order food. I had a coupon for ½ off the second entrée(From Recycle Perks) and my printer broke — so I asked the girl at the register If I could email her the coupon — she said no need and gave us the ½ off no problem. I got the Beef Brisket Platter and Monica got the BBQ platter. Both were fantastic. Plenty of food and it was delicious. Sides were great too. I had broccoli and tater salad. Broccoli was not mush like at a lot of places — great. Tater Salad tasted home made and great. I tried Monica’s cole slaw and it was great too. Hush puppies come with the dishes and were great also. The St Louis BBQ sauce that I added was great! I’m looking forward to return soon. I have added photos.
