Specialties

J & V Computers offers computer repairs and services including virus removal, tune-​ups and optimization, data recovery, hardware support, software support, system restore, physical cleaning, computer set up and data secure recycling. We also offer maintenance plans for individuals and small business. Additionally, we have refurbished systems and used parts available for purchase.

We work on desktops and laptops including Apple products. We do not, however, work on iphones or tablets.

We offer Free diagnostics. Repairs may be done on-​site or in our shop, in which case we will pick up and deliver your system. We do our best to complete your repair or service within 1 to 3 business days.

Our service area includes Carrboro, Chapel Hill, Hillsborough, Mebane and Pittsboro.

History

Established in 2015.

J & V Computers opened for business in March in an effort to provide «home town» quality services and prices to local computer users. We believe in «old school» business practices and enjoy building relationships with our customers that are based on honesty, dependability, and trust.

Our Mission Statement and Vision Statement are based upon our personal values. Treat individuals with respect and in the manner in which one would expect to be treated. Provide a friendly, helpful atmosphere where customers feel welcomed and appreciated rather than another dollar to be earned. Conduct business in an environmentally friendly manner. When practical, repair an item rather than replace it. Dispose of electronic parts properly and recycle, reuse, re-​purpose, refurbish when possible.

Meet the Business Owner

Jeff and Virginia H.

Business Owner

Jeffrey is the technician and will be your on-​site contact. He has been helping others with computer repairs and services since the late 80s. He is also an active software and hardware beta tester, and tested Windows 10 for Microsoft. Always one to help others, Jeffrey is a member of the Public Health Reserve Corp of Orange County, a trained Skywarn Spotter, and HAM radio operator. You can usually find him with his head buried in a tech book or on the computer researching the latest software and hardware changes (and sometimes playing games).

Virginia is the office manager and your point of contact for scheduling, billing, and advertising. She has a background in legal assisting/​small office management which ensures your confidentiality is maintained and has shaped the company’s ethical standards. Her management experience keeps the day to day operations of the company running smoothly. She also has a background in computers — though not as much as Jeffrey.
