Beautiful quaint little shop tucked behind another shop on the street on Linden just follow the sign pointing you to this amazing store. The moment you walk in you are surrounded by the most beautiful smells of soaps, candles, lotions. Beautiful gift items for the bathroom. The gentleman minding the store was so warm and inviting.

A surprising pleasant find during my recent visit in Carpinteria, I’d walked past this store during the holidays and it was closed, so made certain to swing by again to take a look at their wide variety of soaps and other products. Bought a bar of goat milk soap in the sandalwood scent(although the almond and honey scent peaked my interest too). The owner was really helpful in letting me know which soaps were natural/organic and which ones were just regular scented soaps. I should have bought a few more bars while I was there!

I’m so excited I found this fantastic SOAP speciality shop in Carpenteria. After moving to the Silverstrand from Boulder, CO, I was having a hard time finding quality soap shops like in Boulder. Well, I don’t have to worry any longer! Well worth the drive to Carpenteria for this shop. They have a great soap selection and other fun items.

What I liked: Really nice selection of soaps and things for the bath. Cute robes and gift type items with a pretty good price range. Some very hard to find brands here, something for everyone, men women and children when it comes to soaps. What I could do without: The slightly precious attitude. It has ranged from being normal and very friendly to ignoring customers completely when I’ve been in here, despite not being very busy. Once, I walked in with a sealed bottle of water and the woman(owner?) tried to take it from me so «I didn’t spill.» I’m a grown woman, I am not going to spill a bottle of water that has never been opened. I wasn’t running up and down the aisles recklessly, I was simply walking in to buy something while I had a bottle of water in my hand. It was kind of bizarre and made me feel like I’d done something disrespectful.

This shop is tucked back away from the street(follow the sign), but really quaint. Customer service in all the shops I visited on this block was stellar, and this one was not lacking either. While they definitely carry soaps of plenty, they also have many natural lotions, fragrances and a few unique clothing/accessory items. One cool find I saw was a silicone coin purse for your sandy trips to the beach. You could easily shop gifts here. I’d say it’s geared for women, but all could enjoy of course.

Since I spend a significant amount of my waking life interacting with soap(and I hope you do too!), I have decided to spend the extra money to ensure I am using healthy and beautiful products. For the past two years this has been easy for me because of Soap. I have tried too many products to list but what I can assure you Unilocalers is that they have a bar or two for everyone. If you are in the gift giving mood ask them to wrap it up. They do a beautiful job.

Love this place!!! We’ve been coming here for years because it’s the perfect place to browse and gift shop. The owner seems like a very nice guy — and has excellent taste. It’s a tiny shop but he’s managed to really put a lot of different items in it without it feeling cramped or cluttered. What I really love about this store is that he’s got price points at every range so I’ve always been able to find the perfect gift. This Christmas we were visiting Carpinteria and I brought my mother here — we got most of our gift list out of the way. It’s called Soap — but they’ve got everything from scarves to purses to jewelry. The other thing I like is they will have a wide range of the same type of item — like a beautiful brand of soap or candle in many different scents — this is perfect when you have to get gifts for a related group of people(like a book group). Plus he does a lovely job of gift wrapping — perfect place to shop!

SOAP is truly an amazing place! I grew up in Carpinteria, and I always make a stop by Soap for my mother’s birthday, as well as mother’s day… A great place to find refreshing, deliciously scented soaps, creams, scrubs, and so much more! The store itself is very comfortable and cozy, fun to walk around in and look at everything! The owner is super friendly and helpful as well, and the whole ambiance of the place is very nice. This is a fantastic store, nestled away on upper Linden, and I definitely recommend it to anyone and everyone– there’s something you’ll love here, I guarantee it! Planning on getting mother’s day gifts here sometime this week!

This place is truly a great hidden gem! There is such a wide variety of soaps and the owner is very pleasant. It’s reasonably priced and well worth every penny. I like coming here for that little something for myself, little gifts for birthdays or Mother’s day. Great store, I suggest you check it out. You’re welcome. :)

For something you rub all over your body on a daily basis, most people don’t put that much thought into soap. This store could change that. It is filled with the most delicious-smelling, beautifully colored soap. From the soap rocks that greet you as you walk in, to the delicate soaps shaped like bon-bon’s, Soap has something for everyone. I happen to love soap. Daniel, the proprietor, is also a soap lover. He was very nice and helpful, but also gave us space to wander and enjoy his store. Being on a limited budget, I had to narrow my purchases down to 2 bars of soap. The first was a Shea Butter-enriched Mint Leaf bar from France. I can’t wait to use it! The aroma is refreshing. The second was a Cassia Clove aromatherapy herbal soap bar by PlantLife. This square bar of soap is like a work of art and the scent is so yummy that I’m going to leave it out in my bathroom as a fragrance before I actually use it. I know I’m going to smell delicious after I shower now! This store is such a great find. I will definitely drive up the coast just to buy soap here in the future. Soap makes great gifts too, especially when it smells incredible and looks beautiful. I can’t wait to have more money to splurge here. The robes and accessories would bring the spa to my own house. If you’re in the area, check out Soap!
