The gallery features contemporary artwork and with its non-profit donations, is a platform to promote the arts, protect the environment and support human rights. It is owned and operated by a family with roots in Santa Barbara, each of whom is a professional fine artist with a career of their own. «A location came available near the beach in Carpinteria so we decided to create a destination for unique contemporary art in a relaxed, approachable venue.» notes veteran fine artist Ron Anderson. «We represent the family’s art and artists we admire. The gallery is dark Jan and Aug but otherwise is open Fri/Sat/Sun from noon until 5pm and since my studio is above, we are happy to open the gallery by appointment.»

History
Established in 2009.
Ron and Susie Anderson studied art at UCSB in the 60’s. Their sons, Benjamin and Sean, both studied at the Academy of Arts University in San Francisco and then traveled. In 2008, careers established, the sons were again in Santa Barbara and with them as curators, the Anderson Art Collective became a venue to bring together artists and collectors to celebrate fine art.

It is unusual to find a family of successful fine artists. What is even more unique about Santa Barbara’s Anderson family is that they also collaborate creating their contemporary art gallery steps from the beach in Carpinteria. Patriarch Ron Anderson, whose formal career spans 20 years, started oil painting at the age of 12 and when he wasn’t surfing in the 60’s, studied in UC Santa Barbara’s art department. His work is now collected internationally and he is known for his creation of a new art genre called 3D paintings. He’s designed a private collection of aloha shirts for Kahala, created the famous Mickey on the Road to Hana for Disney, did a CD cover for the Beach Boys and, in the 90’s, created a surfer/greeter for the Santa Barbara Chamber of Commerce. He’s been represented by galleries in CA, Hawaii and Las Vegas; been in shows in NY, Chicago, LA, Aspen, Houston and Miami; created art for 6 restaurants, CEOs, celebrities and clients around the world. www.ronandersonart.com
