Our Lady of Assumption-Rectory

Honestly i didnt even go in the church i went in the basketball gym they have to watch my god daughter play in her basketball game. The parking lot was confusing but huge they had 3 separate lots the inside of the gym was clean just seemed kinda out dated. It was nice to see a fun basketball game and nobody fighting the team i was rooting for got killed but as long as every one had fun then thats all it matters. It wont be my last game i attended im sure lol

I was saddened to read this Unilocal review. I have been a member of Our Lady of the Assumption parish since 1960. Our family loves Father Ed. He was there 25 years ago and baptized our youngest daughter. We were so happy to have him back after Father Kiernan left.
I have NEVER seen him display this type of behavior that was written about by Estella.
My dad passed away last June and Father Ed presided over his service and Rosary. He was great. We had over 300 people at the funeral and everyone came up to us to tell us it was the best funeral they had every been to. My dad was smiling down from Heaven.
The comment that Estella made regarding «the money» is so untrue. She is obviously not a parishioner and does not know Father Ed. He is not about money at all.
I have previously notified the Diocese about what a wonderful job he is doing at our Parish.
I am sorry she had a bad experience but this is not normal.

I will say this is a beautiful church because I attended mass for Palm Sunday but recently due to the untimely passing of my sister, we had her funeral/​mass at this church Our Lady of Assumption last Saturday, April 25, 2015. The mass started on or about 9:35 am due to the procession of the casket and seating guests and family. The pastor/​priest present was Eduino Silveira who was supposed to speak and officiate the service. What our family received was a 10 minute mass (if u can call it that) that was so rushed, family members who wanted to speak on memories of my sister were not given any opportunities and family were rudely interrupted so she had to leave the podium in distress while my other sister had to close by saying thank u for coming even though we had just arrived and rush out of the church!!! All those in attendance most including my grieving family were upset and the pastor/​priest Eduino Silveira was NOWHERE to be found!!! First impressions make lasting memory but ours is of a very negative and uncaring feeling we will never shake off especially at the funeral of our dearly departed sister who deserved way more than what was given to her on her last day on earth!!! If we had known this is how this so called priest acted this way and knew he had other services to perform that day, he should of notified the mortuary not blame us for his inconsistencies and error! But he cared more for the money we were «donating» to the church instead of what he committed himself to doing which is praying for the dead … When I spoke to Eduino Silveira on the phone he was the aggressive one and was telling me «instead of you being thankful for what I did, you are very ungrateful and you need to answer to God» … Like really?! What priest does that?! Obviously this one does and without care and compassion! I’m going to end it here but I’ve notified the Dioces of Sacrament but when I told Eduino Silveira I was going to notify the Diocese of his outright inexcusable behavior his response «do u think I’m scared? You think you’re threatening me? because the Diocese will do nothing to me, I guarantee you» … I’m glad I shared this bcos if he did this this time I’m most certainly sure he will do it again …
