High Maintenance Nail Salon

I had a fantastic manicure +pedicure by D’ann today. I will definitely be back! Very clean nail salon and pleasant people working.

As always, I enjoy my pedicure and fill appointments with Linda! She always goes the extra mile to make sure she has the colors I want and puts in 100% to make sure I’m happy with my nail design choices.

Very clean, cute shop. Linda did my pedicure, she is very friendly and professional. It was an overall very pleasant experience, the most enjoyable pedicure I’ve had, and I’m very happy with the results.
The only reason for 4 stars is that it was slightly pricier than other salons, but again I think the environment & customer service were worth the cost.
I will definitely be returning in the future.

To start off I made an appointment after reading the reviews on Unilocal and finding on their Unilocal a picture of the shape and color I wanted ! I love that you can make an appointment and not get interrupted every time someone walking in the door because the tech is waiting for the next client by appointment. Well when I booked it gave me a price 45 $ I chose the full set acrylic with glitter cause what I wanted was 9 solid 2 glitter so I felt this option best fit my needs. Upon picking my glitter color after I arrived we figured I’d just do gel glitter instead of powder no price difference was specified. it doesn’t bug me cause I was willing to pay for good quality nails and I surely got it but some people might when that little of a change is an extra 10 $. I wanted an almond shape medium length. I wanted the 9 solid a natural sheer pink white color. With glitter on my ring finger both ladies were searching for the right color sheer pink color. The lady that did my nails was really cool she knows what’s she is doing and is for surely talented. I feel I have fat nails and she made them look narrow and slender. I finally found a place that doesn’t make my finger look like I have press on nails. De’ann paid specific attention to my nails and what I wanted and they turned out amazing ! Went to High Maintenance Nail Salon for the first time today. D’Ann was my nail technician. I walked out a VERY happy woman.
I arrived a little early, she took me right away and we started talking like old friends. She listened to what I wanted done with my nails and the outcome was perfect.
The salon is SUPER clean, decorated in a very cute way.
I have FINALLY found my go-​to place to get my nails done.

PRICEY!
DeAnn did my nails. Had an appointment at 10:30 am this morning, and left at 1:30 pm. Asked for coffin nails, which I’ve been getting for months now and left with HELLA pointy nails.
I have a hard time with this review because I loved the environment and the ladies working but I almost hate my nails. I love the color I chose but the layers kind of uneven near the edges. I love the length of my right hand but the only finger that is the shape and length I wanted is my thumb. My left hand nails are significantly longer then my right hand, SIGNIFICANTLY.
Granted I didn’t see this until I got home. I stopped asking her to change my nails after awhile because I figured past the acrylic there’s not much you can do for the shape.
I wish I would’ve been given a price quote before starting and a longer consultation but that’s my bad for not asking. My nails were 65 $, not including the 5 $ off for checking in. Still, the salon is super pricey. I’m from the Bay Area and for the shape and gel color, it’s only 45 $ most places.
The owner, Kathy, was super friendly and offered to order me a sandwich along with some for her employees but I’m still on the fence of if I would go back. The salon is located inside of the gym, which is owned by her husband. The area is kinda sketchy but such a well kept salon.

Oh and if you already have nails on when you go in, when you make an appointment you need to let them know ahead of time so they can make sure they have time to do it.
They ARE the ONLY place I have ever gone too that has ever taken the nails of the proper and «legal» way, with the least damage to the natural nail. It’s no doubt that Dee is super talented and I fully respect that she takes her time as well as puts care into her work.
Update: The shape is definitely starting to grow on me, but still not worth 65 $.

I’ve had acrylic nails 1986 — 2010. I am very particular when it comes to how my nails look, the cleanliness of the nail salon and most important how I am treated in the salon. I have gone to High Maintenance Nail Salon just once and was completely delighted. The ladies are very nice and have fun in their workplace.
Yes there is a small gym as you walk into the building, but let’s be honest ladies, how many of you feel safer with that gym there? It’s kind of a buffer between the salon and the parking lot. I like it.
I followed D’Ann from another salon and she is awesome! She is very gentle and meticulous about her work. Again I am very picky and I am totally pleased, thrilled and happy when I leave the salon. I had her put on the «mood» nail gel with a little bling and I had a lot of fun with it.
HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend this salon. If there were more stars to choose from I would.

Love this place! They are very nice, professional and make you feel like family. Dee did my nails Mickey and Minnie and they turned out perfect. She took her time and I could tell she loves what she does. I will definitely be going back and I will tell all my friends about this place. A+++++++++++++++++++++

After making An appointment, I received a quick response confirming my appointment and what exactly I wanted done. Linda took her time to pick out the perfect options for my new year nails :)
Salon was A little hard to find but very chik inside. A business sign should be coming in shortly, would recommend to EVERYONE

I just happened on to this salon reading Unilocal reviews and seeking something near me. I was very impressed with the level of professionalism, the salon cleanliness and attention to detail, the friendly owner and my nail artist, Linda.
The salon is located within a gym, but once within the salon, it’s quiet and contemplative. You can visit or simply enjoy the silence. I found the experience not only relaxing but the outcome fantastic. I will definitely be back!

I had a pedicure and a full set of pink and white sculptured nails done by Linda today. I can’t say enough good things about my experience. I felt welcomed and right at home the minute I walked in the door. Such a great experience. Highly recommend her! Thank you, Linda

This is a lovely nail salon! You receive the type of service you remember from before nail salons were in every strip mall. Kathy Ford is meticulous, and emailed me ahead of time to prepare for the appointment. I sent her a picture of what I had in mind, and when I arrived she had truly given my idea her time and consideration. There are multiple nail techs in this salon, all of which were clearly up to date and knowledgeable of current trends and techniques. Prices are comparable to surrouding nail salons, but, again, without the rush-​rush feeling and with old school skills. Everything about Kathy sets her apart from what has become fast-​food nail service. I have finally found a salon I will return to without fail.

I love this nail salon. Everyone is so friendly and sweet. Sophie is a GEM. She is passionate about nails and really loves to use her artistic side to give you a great set of nails. She is precise and professional and takes the time to give you perfect nails. I left today with a gorgeous set of gel nails, thanks to Sophie. I can’t stop looking at them. They make me feel like a princess.

I really wanted to like this salon because the staff is very friendly and accommodating. Unfortunately, the quality of my nails was not up to par.
To start, the salon is tucked away inside a gym so don’t think you are lost when you don’t notice it when pulling in. There is plenty of parking and once you enter the salon it is small but cute and clean. I was greeted right away by my nail technician, Sophia (or Sophie), as well as the owner, Kathy. They were both very nice and even offered me a water or coffee.
Once seated, we discussed what I wanted which was a set of acrylics. I am a nail biter and having fake nails is the only thing that prevents me from biting. While my natural nails were quite short, I was assured that wouldn’t be an issue. I really liked that she told me what she was doing during each step, however I did notice that her process was slightly different from other salons I’ve been to in the past.
Unfortunately, the customer service was the only good thing about this salon. All the reviews I read were about how good Kathy is and I now wish that I had tried her instead. I don’t think Sophia is necessarily a bad technician, but I would suggest more training and experience. After an hour and a half (quite long) I let with my new acrylic set. When I left I was happy with how they looked. However, after just a day or two all of my nails were lifting on the edges and and even cracked. I also noticed that some nails were thicker or uneven. After a week I did call and let them know about my concerns and they said to come back and they would fix it free of charge. I was very happy that they were genuinely concerned about my happiness and got me in right away.
When I got there they both looked over my nails and said they were lifting because my nails were so short to begin with that the acrylic didn’t have much to adhere to. They said it would be a simple fill to fix. Once again it took about an hour and a half, but I could tell she was paying very close attention to do a better job this time around. She also kept asking me to take a look and approve. Of course they looked better after a file down and fill so I was again satisfied. BUT, once again, after only a day two nails chipped on the corners and half of my nails were lifting. I couldn’t believe it. I would have called again but unfortunately I don’t have the patience to try them a third time in a two week span. I decided to go to another salon where they fixed the lifting and chips and they still look like new days later.
Like I said, I really wanted to like this salon. The stars I gave are solely because how how nice and accommodating they were. If you do make an appointment here I would recommend Kathy because she is the only one that the reviews are based on. I do not like writing negative reviews, but I believe all feedback should be considered in order to improve.

Don’t judge a book by it’s cover ladies, this Salon is simply amazing and the best around! Kathy is fantastic and really knows her stuff, with top of the line nail care products to compliment her knowledgable skill set when performing nail service for her clients. I am usually really picky when it comes to my nails and in my line of work (pet sitter) they have to hold up to my responsibilities while still being professional and pretty! I will admit it has been a while since my last manicure/​pedicure for the sheer reason between being busy and too tired of paying for poor mani/​pedi jobs that simply aren’t worth it. Kathy was so sweet and understanding, she explained everything as she did it and lent advice to what might work best for me after listening to what I do on a daily basis but what I ideally wanted my nails to look like. I recently searched after moving, did a little recon and the usual reading of the reviews of other salons in the area, all the usual, nothing that stood out, until reading more of this salon. I noticed that all reviews were above average to very pleased, so I figured I would take a deep breathe and try another go around. There are also two other wonderful ladies working here to take clients and one which did my pedicure. My pedicure was great, I just got the basic but the scrub felt awesome and the girls really went the extra mile to make sure I knew what they were doing and ask if I needed/​wanted anything specific (my nails can be sensitive). Oh, did I mention how CLEAN the salon is! Oh, and by the way, they never re-​use ANYTHING such as nail files or scrub brushes! They will actually ask if you would like to keep the files, etc. due to sanitary reasons, they will throw them out anyway. This is so refreshing to see since everywhere else I have EVER gone to seems to wash or re-​use their equipment, eww right?! On top of the fact they DO NOT thin out their nail colors to make them last longer, which too many nail salons do these days (I usually bring my own bc of this). I will say, the service was a little longer than I expected, but well worth the wait. Throughout the entire time the ladies were pleasant, inviting, laid back, and fun to talk with… a must in my world! I will definitely be a returning customer and have found my new salon in Sacramento!

What a delightful find! I initially came to High Maintenance Nail Salon simply because it was close to the place where my car was being serviced. You would never guess the oasis contained within from the outside. The salon is tastefully decorated, giving it a very peaceful feel. The staff presented as eager, courteous, and very skilled. I received a wonderful pedicure. Want to give yourself a treat? This is definitely where you want to go!

I scheduled a spa mani pedi with Kim last minute online. I had never been here or seen the business but the reviews were glowing and I needed to take care of my nails before my vacation the next day. So glad I found this place. Kim was amazing. Easy to talk to and everyone in there was just super nice. She did an amazing job on my nails. Gel on the hands and shellac on the toes to help it last a little longer on a beach vacation. The artwork was super cute too. :-D I will be back.
If you don’t know the place or haven’t been here, it’s a little intimidating. The front part of the space is a gym. The nail shop owners husband runs personal training and classes out of the front part of the building. It’s not distracting at all when you’re in the salon. :-)

Kathy, Kim and Henry at High Maintenance Nail Salon are awesome! I took my 4 year old daughter Lilly in for a mommy/​daughter date last month and received exceptional customer service. Kim took extra care to be gentle when doing my daughter’s pedicure. Lilly told me after, «I like Kim!» Kathy, the salon owner, ran over to the florist next door and brought Lilly and I a single rose each… So sweet! Henry did my pedicure and he was thorough and gave a great calf massage. Probably the best pedicure I’ve ever received!
I took Lilly in again today and the experience was just as great! I love how they made Lilly feel so special and beautiful.
I will continue to come to this salon because they go above and beyond to give their clients a relaxing and fun experience. It has Lilly’s approval as well!
