History

Established in 2006.

Patients at Charles Newens DDS. Inc receive experienced quality dentistry in a clean friendly and up to date dental office. Dr Newens has been in dentistry for over 20 years and has been honored in Sacramento Magazine’s Top dentist issue in 2011 thru 2015. He is a subject matter expert with the California Board of Dental Examiners and is a clinical instructor at Carrington College of dental hygiene.

Business Owner

Dr. Charles Newens is a 1995 graduate of the University of Pacific Dental School and holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of California at Berkeley. He is a member of both the American and California Dental Associations. Dr. Newens has served in the U.S. Army for eight years. He is constantly attending post graduate courses to master his clinical skills and techniques. In addition, he serves as a subject matter expert for the Dental Board of California, a clinical instructor at the Carrington College of California Dental Hygiene school and is a dental products evaluator for the newest dental technology.

His philosophy and approach to dentistry seek to provide each patient and his or her family with information so that an optimal dental health decision can be made jointly.

Dr. Newens provides quality dentistry in the best interests of his patients, and prides himself on his ability to listen to his patients’ needs and fulfill them in a gentle and caring manner.

Seriously awesome dentist. Took my six year old to get her teeth cleaned and due to a previous bad experience she was nervous, Dr. Newen and his awesome staff went above and beyond in making sure she wasn’t scared. Thank you guys you have us as customers for life!!!:-)

Dr. Newens is a great dentist. He gives all options and cares for his patients needs. He doesn’t pressure the patient to do anything procedures and allows the patient to have time to think about what they want. He’s great at explaining his reasons, and he gets on a personal level by putting himself in your shoes to give his honest opinion and decision. He’s gentle with his cleanings and great at doing local anesthetic.

My husband ran into this practice while we were looking for a dentist after moving to California some 6 years ago. That has been a very lucky choice for us. The entire family really enjoys our appointments at Dr. Newens’ office. This establishment truly deserve the tag if the friendliest office in town. The staff will go above and beyond to make you feel welcome, fear-​free and entertained. There is never a line of waiting patients and always ample parking.
Dr. Newens is a very sweet, personable, accommodating and highly-​trained professional. He always takes time to explain the dental problems and upcoming procedure with all the necessary details. He is very careful yet extremely thorough with his hands and instruments. Not only he does the hygienic cleaning himself, he performs the whole array of the the usual dentist’s procedures, and he even designs crowns. Dr. Newens also manages to teach at a local school for dental hygienists.

I rarely give 5 stars to anyone or anything but Dr. Newens is the first dentist in my 38 years that I actually don’t grit my teeth about. I’ve had dental phobias for most of my life and because of that have neglected my teeth. Over the last couple of years I’ve been relying on him to make my mouth whole again… He is the only dentist who doesn’t hurt me and never makes me feel like I’m a bad or icky person because of the condition of my teeth and gums. I get to the office and he goes to work.
His staff are friendly and welcoming and make you feel like you are part of the family. The office is clean with plenty of reading material in the lobby and all of the equipment is new and up to date.
All of my children are being seen by him as well and personally, I prefer him over the fancy fun kid dentists any day because I KNOW from my own experiences that he isn’t hurting them. I don’t want them to have the same fear of dentists that I had.
If you are looking for a new dentist, Dr. Newens should be your choice. He doesn’t know it but as soon as he fills all of my cavities I’m going to have him make my teeth whiter next.
