Awesome needed a couple work shirts fitted and had to have them done the same day due to work on mon and they took care of both of them no problem

I can’t say enough about the «good will» of this place. I brought in a white quilt, and cream duvet to have it fit the quilt better. The owner patiently took her time, re measuring the dimensions of both. In the end it worked out that I didn’t need to have it altered; a free service I was given, and with a smile on her face. I appreciated her generosity of spirit and will return there should I need anything else altered.

Pretty dissatisfied. I took 2 zip up sweat shirts in to have the zipper replaced. When I first dropped them off, I was told they would be ready in 2 weeks. So naturally, I returned 2 weeks later. When I arrived, my zip ups had not been touched. So she told me she would call me when they were ready. In turn, this caused more frustration because of how far I drove to get there. Over 3 weeks went by and still no call. I got a little smarter the second time around and decided to call before attempting to go again. Of course my zip ups are ready now, and it sounds like they have been done for quite some time. Needless to say, I will probably not return based on it’s location from me and inconsiderate lack of communication/​scheduling of when my items would be ready.

Very disapointed. Had to take my item to another alterations place to have it done correctly. The alterations shop I took it to for the second time said the work was atrocious. Couldn’t believe they would even charge for such shoddy work. Was overcharged as well. She also said they would add some things which did not get done, then tried to tell me that wasn’t mentioned. The reviews about Kim are old. She either doesn’t work there anymore or has others handle the store.. I have never written a negative review before. I feel so strongly about this, that I needed to let others know to BEWARE… I felt I was taken advantage of and there was nothing done on their part to make it right. I will never go back there.

Took 5 pair of pants in for alteration for an upcoming trip. I had been to this business several years ago, not sure if it was the same owner at that time. This location is very convenient, and Purwa was very helpful regarding what did and did not need to be done. Alterations were ready on the date promised and am very satisfied with the quality of the work. Did not have anything with which to compare the price, but am satisfied it was appropriate for the quality of workmanship and service. I strive to support local business, and Purwa makes easy to do so.

I dropped off a vest with a broken zipper. It was made clear to them that whatever they neede to do to fix it, please do so. I was prepared for either replacement or repair. I left with a pickup slip that said ready by tuesday, which was 6 days later. I went in Wednesday just to ensure that it would be ready as it is very out of the way, and I don’t have any time to waste. The employee told me that the zipper needed replacing and they would have to order a part and you will need to prepay that. I was pissed and stunned. I drove 20 miles out of my way to incorporate picking this up, and was very upset that no one picked up the phone to call me about this. Especially because when I left the vest with them, it was made clear that what ever they needed to do, they could do it and I would pay for it. I said «so when did you know it wasn’t going to be ready and when was someone going to call me to advise me of that?» The employee said «I don’t know» That is unacceptable customer service. I really got the distinct impression that she didn’t think a phone call was warranted; that it’s ok to have me waste my time driving back to her shop for her to inform me what a simple call could have done. How incredibly thoughtless not to make a simple phone call to clarify a repair order. I don’t care how wonderful their repairs might be, if a service related business can’t figure out that a phone call is the most basic tool in your toolbox for customer service, then I won’t give them my business and I’ll speak poorly about them whenever the opportunity arises. They wasted 40 miles of gas and an hour of my time.

I’ve been coming to this location of Alterations To Go for close to 15 years. They can alter anything from dresses to pants to suits. My needs have evolved overtime and they have exceeded my expectations each time! Not only are they great with the work they do, but are always willing to help with suggestions on pieces. It’s hard to find a great alterations place that offers good quality, isn’t overpriced, and has items ready when expected, but Alterations To Go is that place!

I usually believe that if you can’t say something nice, don’t say anything at all. However after much consideration I’ve decided that other brides need to know about my experience with wedding dress alterations with Kim before contacting this shop.
I was referred to this store by a close friend who told me that she had her wedding dress altered quickly, cheaply and well. I then went on Unilocal and check the reviews and they were consistent with what I’d already heard so I decided to use Alterations To Go to alter my wedding dress.
There is only one person at the store who does wedding dresses (Kim). She is very nice and easy to work with, but goes AWOL for weeks at a time without any communication and the quality of her work seems to have diminished.
When initially trying to schedule an appointment with her, I was repeatedly told «she’s not in right now, but you can call back this afternoon when she’s here.» She never was there when I’d call back. That should’ve been my first tip, but I’d heard such great things that I still wanted her to alter my dress.
After several weeks of trying to connect, I finally got an appointment. I was nervous because my wedding was only 5 weeks away, but Kim assured me that the alterations were easy and she could do them in a week. I was relieved and booked a follow up appointment with her for the next week. When I returned at our scheduled time, Kim wasn’t there and the lady who was working said she didn’t do wedding dresses. For the next 3 weeks I tried to set up my second fitting with Kim but she was never in and the other employees had no information. I was actually told that the store was having a herd time reaching her too. Finally, a week before my wedding I was able to reach her (I had to call her, she didn’t call me) and we set an appointment for that day. After that fitting there were several more delays, but I eventually got my dress back a few days before my wedding.
Unfortunately, on my wedding day when I put my dress on, some of the button loops she sewed into the back immediately came out (I failed to test out every single one during my final fitting) and the lower layers of the bustle came loose within seconds of attaching it (this was when I first put it on and was teaching my MOH how to bustle it, so it’s not like it was stepped on or damaged during the ceremony). Luckily I had an emergency sewing kit and a family member who could sew quickly.
I’m not sure what’s going on with Kim. She is a very likable person but the quality of her work and her flakiness were extremely disappointing and not at all what I expected. This experience was the main stressor leading up to my wedding and I wasn’t an anxious bride.
If a friend asked me if she should have her wedding dress altered here, I’d advise her to pass because it’s simply not worth it.

What a great place… After my last place I had my repairs and alterations closed up, I found ATG, and Kim Dean, on a lark. Stopped in for a suit alteration. It was no miss, no fuss, easy as pie. Kim was friendly and welcoming. With all the mirrors there as you walk in, there’s no doubt that Kim and her staff are pros. They had my suit done on time. It was a little more expensive than I figured, but it was done to perfection! I love my nice suits and they did it justice.
Kim is always ready with a smile and a nice conversation and, to me, makes this ATG the place to go for alterations. I’ve had several other pieces done since the first suit, and they’ve never failed to get it done right.
You guys know that I don’t give 5 stars very often… The ONLY thing that keeps Kim and company from that was the fact that they had the Michael Savage radio show playing during one visit…

I’ve had only a couple of things done at his place but I was very pleased with the results. Both employees at the front desk were pleasant and friendly. I live fairly close and I certainly intend to use this business again.

Yes, it’s a franchise but the quality, courtesy and turn around time were all very «boutique».

Every alteration these women have done for me has turned out perfect ! They are real pro’s. Their prices are reasonable but most importantly they do a terrific job.

This place is amazing! I have had several bridesmaid dresses altered here over the last few years, every time the dresses have turned out perfect. They really take the time to do the job right. The attention to detail is amazing. Their prices are very competitive for the area and the job.

Kim Dean is amazing! You cannot beat the service and the prices that Kim Dean offers. Make sure that you are going to the «Alterations To Go» at 5150 Fair Oaks Blvd. There is also an Alterations To Go on Arden and she is also named Kim but she is not the same Kim!!! Make sure you are going to the Kim at the corner of Fair Oaks and Walnut. She is the best!!! The most reasonable prices, and the BEST work. SHE’S AMAZING!!! I would never take my alterations anywhere else. I’ve moved since I first discovered Kim at Alterations To Go, and I’m over 2 hours away now and I still drive to see Kim. She’s THAT good.
