I’ve been a long time customer at Roberts and have bought many cameras, lenses and studio equipment over the years. Seems like they’ve really lost focus on customer service. I’ve called a couple of times recently and was told that the person they said I needed to talk to was unavailable. Asked if he could call me back. Was told sure(both times) and they verified my contact information and said he should call me back within a day. That hasn’t happened still after several weeks.

I went in to see about a camera battery or a black Friday deal on a camera. They had an ad that I had not seen. They were advertising a Nikon point-and-shoot camera. I liked the available color and the functions. I hope I will enjoy my purchase. Also, as I was leaving, they had Nikon camera bags on display for free. What a surprise gift! This business has lots of events such as classes for a fee.

Knowledgeable staff who always encourage us to ask questions. My husband is avid photographer and I always need to ask their help when trying to purchase something from his wish list. He likes the availability of the large lens rental for special events. Great store in a fabulous location. If I’m considering a purchase and the item will be on sale they are honest and let me know if I need to wait for a week or two. That is very appreciated.

I’ve been impressed by the people at the downtown Indianapolis location. Their lack of brand fanatics(not enthusiasm – fanaticism) has been a great aid when buying equipment. I was practically around the corner last Thursday and I was about to go downtown when I remembered that they had a store in the area. I brought up the map and got navigation to help me find the place. Unfortunately, they had moved since then. I called. They answered, and told me how to find the new store. After I arrived, I updated the address before we talked about cameras. The store has a high ceiling so it’s not claustrophobia-inducing as with the downtown store. I didn’t really see a room for conferences and tutorials, though. The sales person who helped me was a person I’d met during the Olympus photo walk way back in summer, and he remembered me. Is that good or bad? :-D I wanted to buy a certain lens that I’d used that day and they only had the one. We’d also talked about a great many other issues, and he was helpful there, too. Once again, no brand bias, even though he told me what he was using lately. They really do a better job than most photographic stores I’ve shopped around the country, and their prices are often below the typical retail price.

Went to pick up 9×12 sized prints. They are printed the wrong size and also had strange horizontal lines from top to bottom. I give one start because of the clerks comment: «Oh yeah, it’s been doing that and I can’t figure out why.» Twelve prints cost $ 125 so they better look good. And his comment means they know there is a problem, and who knows how many people have paid for images with these lines.

After reading other reviews, I’m guessing about the downtown Indy location, I was sort of afraid of even going in the Carmel store. But, I was met with a hello and a very friendly sales person the first time and second time I went in. I got my questions answered and I was able to try a couple lenses out for my Nikon D3200. They had an item I was looking at on line(Amazon out of stock.) I was able to buy it for less with Roberts. I am a total amateur at photos. I was nice to get hands on items before buying.

I love this camera store and have been a loyal customer for 11 years. The address list is no longer accurate, they are on old Meridian now. The service is excellent. If they don’t have what you want, they will get it. Better yet, if you’re not happy with your purchase, they take it back, no problem. I’ve been to other«high end» camera shops where the staff is arrogant, and condescending. Not at Roberts. They are there to help you whether you understand an F-stop or not. I always recommend them to my friends. If there is a less expensive way to achieve your goals they’ll tell you. Tonight I was talking to a staff member about a crazy expensive lens I want. He suggested a much less expensive converter, and on top of that, he recommended I rent it first. Great idea.

I stopped in to have some questions answered and they were very helpful and knowledgeable. They have a big selection to choose from.
