One block and a world away from the hustle-bustle of Carmel-by-the-Sea’s celebrated Ocean Avenue, the Nancy Dodds Gallery is home to the work of some of Northern California’s most engaging contemporary and plein air artists. «Light and airy, open and unconfining,» wrote one critic, «the Nancy Dodds Gallery offers a cheerful refuge from the often overwhelming world of Carmel Art Galleries.» Simply put, Nancy’s imaginative collection is a must visit for all Carmel gallery-goers. Please come by — we think you’ll agree.
History
Established in 1991.
The gallery opened as LeCelle Gallery owned by Bob Haeger from San Anselmo. I worked for Bob from day one. Then in 1996 I bought the gallery and it has continued to grow ever since. We started out as works of art on paper but gradually added oils and sculptures and more. Mostly California artists, Randall Sexton, Teresa Onoda, Leslie Toms, Lesley Rich and many more. The gallery has a strong presence of print makers including Beth Van Hoesen, Anita Toney, and Stephen McMillan. We also carry the sculptures of Kristine Taylor, Josie Boyer, and the ceramics of Jeff Dahlin.
