Well, sh**balls…stopped in a couple days ago and was blown away with the cheesesteak. I heard about Jersey’s when we moved to Indy last year after seeing it on a re-run of DDD. Unfortunately, their old location on 31 was closed at that point. Fast forward a few months, and they open at a new spot. However, the new spot is right next to the Upland Carmel taproom; I love the food at Upland, so every time I was there, I thought, «I can risk going somewhere new(Jersey’s) or just hit a staple of mine(Upland) which I know I really enjoy.» So, I continued to skip over Jersey’s. Then last week I caught the DDD episode featuring Jersey’s again. It was time to give it a go. As we roll up I said to my wife, «I hope this place isn’t awesome, because if it is, I’m going to be pissed that we haven’t been coming here since they opened…» Well, I left pissed, or at least as pissed as I could be after stuffing myself with an udderly ridiculous whiz wit cheesesteak with fresh jalapenos on top. I grew up in NJ. I still go to south Jersey/Philly 3 – 4 times a year. I like to think I know my cheesesteak pretty well. Jersey’s is churning out a top quality product. One I regret not consuming much earlier, and one I anticipate regularly re-visiting. The place is nice, clean, has a deli feel. It was pretty empty when we were there, service was great and very attentive, and my sandwich was the bomb. The rest of the menu looked great and I am eager to try many of their other offerings. If you haven’t been yet, you’re only punishing yourself. Best cheesesteak you’ll find in the midwest(in my humble opinion) — just get over there, NOW!

The sandwiches are always good and I take new people in to check it out and they love it. Be patient, it’s not Subway speed, but well worth the wait.

I am over the moon excited and happy that Jersey’s Café re-opened. They had closed down a while back when the construction 31 was going on and I thought it was permanent. They re-opened in the little strip mall on 116th and Guilford area and have a much better location traffic wise. The menu shrunk a little bit, but believe me that is a good thing. They still have all the favorites including the best thing ever… the Trenton Roll which(if you are from the Jersey area) you’d know as a Pork Roll. They decided to change it up a bit and not have the onions on it anymore which is sad and the egg is now an omelette versus sunny side up, but it is still very very very good. My buddy got a cheese steak which was just as delicious as I remember. If you have not been here yet, definitely go! It is a perfect representation of Jersey Diner. I’ll be back many times!

My husband and I went in for a quick bite after a run. When we first walked in, we were only the second people there. We ordered the Philly cheesesteak and one of the hot dogs covered in slaw. I thought the hot dog was ok, the bun and slaw were the best parts. The Philly was delicious though and I imagine we will be going back for another. The big down side was those two sandwiches took 45 minutes to get. It seemed slow is the normal name of game.

Jersey’s Café, undeniably, has execellent food. However, the service recently leaves much to be desired. I have been eating at Jersey’s for about 3 years now. Following them from their last location to their most current location. The service always before has been at least decent. Not the fastest and not always the absolute friendliest, but the food always made up for it. Until now. I recently visited with a party of 4 adults and 2 children. It was 1pm so the restaurant was not very busy. There were 2 tables that were in use when we walked in. We stood at the store front for 12 minutes before we were even seated. I was definitely annoyed at this point, but was looking forward to that delicious cheese steak I had my heart set on. My party was seated at 2 different tables because the hostess/waitress had used their 1 table for 6 for a group of 3 people. That was obviously a genius move. But I digress. Once we are seated, there was never an apology for our wait. Again, I looked past this as I was looking forward to the food! Our drink order was finally taken. 3 waters, a coke and a lemonade.(One of the kids is a baby and had their own drink.) We sat, and sat and never did the waitress return with our drinks. I kept looking at my watch and finally told the others in my party that if we are not given our drinks within 5 minutes we needed to leave. Another 5 minutes passed and we got up to leave. From the moment we walked in the door to the moment we left, we were there for 38 minutes. 38 minutes when they were not very busy and we couldn’t even get a drink?! That to me is unacceptable. Had the place been slammed then by all means, I get it. But nothing. The waitress was just lazy. They should be ashamed to even employ someone like her. Maybe she was having a bad day, maybe she is just incompetent. Either way, as a server, you are there to do a job. Serve people with a smile and with courtesy. She did neither. When we left, I explained that we had been there almost 40 minutes and hadn’t even been served beverages. She still never once bothered to apologize — she just let us walk out the door. By my calculations her lack of wanting to serve us cost Jersey’s at least $ 65 in sales that day. Plus she lost her tip. This whole experience completely soured me on Jersey’s and it would take a lot for me to step foot in there and spend my money there again. My only hope is the owner sees this and re-thinks about the people he employs in the front who are the«face/s» of his establishment. Hopefully this will help other customers in the future and they will not have the same terrible experience my party and I dealt with.

My wife and I stopped here on our way to Chicago and the food was amazing. I got the bacon cheesesteak and a Boylan’s soda. Probably the best cheesesteak I’ve had. My wife got the crab cake sandwich, which was also amazing. The serving sizes are great for big appetites. Definitely a must go!

They offer a large variety of sandwiches. The sandwich was amazing. Takes a while to get the food, but it is well worth it.

Greatest food in town. You can literally taste the real Jersey food in Indy. You have to try the Eli #10 and the Chicken club sandwich.

Try the New York cheesesteak! I sat down and was amazed by this sandwich. It was piled high with meat, cheese, onion all atop a fantastic piece of toasted bread bun. Great place to relax and enjoy a meal or order to go. The owners are wonderful people and very accommodating. I’ll definitely be back!

This place is pretty good. The wait like all he other reviews is accurate. Do NOT expect to be in and out of here on a lunch break. The Taylor ham/pork roll are to be as expected from what comes from Jersey. Being from NJ and having ever possible option of a cheesesteak this is by far the closest you’ll get to an actual Philly cheesesteak. Of course once you have had Pats, Geno, or Jimmy’s every cheesesteak is ehh. So when I say the cheesesteak is good that actually means a lot. The Taylor ham is a thick cut slice which is different for me. Normally I do a thinner slice. And more scorched style of cooking it. But all around good. So being from NJ this is a pleasant surprise to find here in IN. Great place to come to get a taste of back home without driving 10+ hours. FYI possible new location to open in the near future out in Westfield.

Very disappointing lunch hour. My husband and I went for lunch at 12:15 and even though took 15 min to place order thought we would still have enough time to eat during lunch hour. We ordered 2 sub sandwiches no changes from menu and chips and it took close to 50 min to get food. Husband had to get his in to go box for time. He wasn’t only patron requesting this. I finished my meal and went to pay at 1:45. Just had to mention to waiter that the food was good but took far to long for lunch hour. Response was sorry but we aren’t Applebee’s or fast food. I get that but aren’t fine dining either and we’re just subs. Plus I just saw a to go order be taken at 1:40 and delivered in under 10 min. Weird guess it’s all about timing.

AWESOME — AWESOME –AWESOME, Two issue * Issue 1. I live way to close to them. Take your pick of the Chicken Salad sandwich, the loaded chips, their Chicken Philly or one of their awesome salads. Great Food — tremendously nice people. Issue 2. Guy from Dinners, Drive Ins & Dives visited them a while back & every-time they rerun the episode it gets a little crowded * BUTWELLWORTHTHEWAIT!

This joint is five stars for what it is, a Great sandwich place. Be prepared to wait especially if they are busy because everything is cooked to order. Or you can go down the street to Jason’s deli and get faster service and be underwhelmed yet again… Try anything and if you don’t Love it my bet is you were a picky eater as a child and probably got yelled at a lot. Or your too young to appreciate hair metal and think Nick Jonas is an(artist). Either way, you suck at life. Sorry bout your luck but someone had to tell you… I just tried the Reggie and it was phenomenal! In the past I’ve had quite a few of the cheese steak and he eli#10 and never have I been disappointed other than the fact that I can only eat one sandwich and maybe a bite of my wife’s before I need a nap. This joint is first rate and it was never a jersey mikes, just some crappy knockoff place so everything here is an upgrade. Get in, get fed, come back often… Your welcome!

I have to disagree with some of these other reviews. This was my first time here and we loved it. Service was good but the food was great and there was much of it. My girlfriend and I got 2 meals out of each sandwich, easily! Also, as a special they had buffalo fries with blue cheese, it was totally awesome. I suggest making this a permanent menu item! We’ll be back!

Stopped here to get a sandwich from Jersey Mike’s and found out is is now Jeets by Jersey’s. Same layout as the old place. Waited at the«Please wait to be seated» sign for over 10 minutes. No one acknowledged us. People in front of us left. People that came in behind us left. When we decided to leave I walked to the kitchen door and asked for the manager. The person who responded said he was. When I mentioned he was loosing customers because no one was helping anyone he just cussed at me.

I’m one of those people who is always in search of an amazing cheese steak, and have high standards. I think it is pretty close to being a perfect form of food. LOL I had a good experience at the restaurant(I’ve only been once). I ordered the NY cheese steak and fries. Was the cheese steak amazing? No, but it was pretty good. *sigh* I liked the fries more than the cheese steak. The fries were a huge portion — enough for several people. It hardly looked like I put a dent in them. Haha! Iced tea was good(also a huge portion/glass). The server was very nice and the service was quick.

After the move. half the size, half the charm, and ¾ the quality. I used to love Jersey Café, but they have jumped the shark at the new local. The food was meh. The staff was over stretched(and he did the best he could), it didn’t take forever, but it was not busy. I miss that«Jersey charm» not sure we will come back, and I know we won’t make a special trip.

Disappointed since they moved. Low quality on items. I ordered the famous chicken salad club sandwich from DDD and came on regular bread(wheat) not homemade as on the show. Little chicken salad. Little pinch of bacon and a whole head of iceberg lettuce, plus NOSIDES anymore included. Never going back until they pick up their quality again. DDD would be disappointed.
