Ian Martin Wedding Photojournalism

I want to give Ian 10,000 stars. He brings a huge dose of fun, enthusiasm, and creativity to your photographs. We were running behind schedule on our wedding day due to a couple of factors but Ian was the voice of calm as he navigated a couple of lost key guests, he directed people with great command after our ceremony and tried as hard as he could to get us to the reception on time. I heard him making jokes with my guests and he was very professional through the whole event.
we just got our pictures back and they are perfect. I didn’t point out the people who are very close and important to us but Ian picked up on it and captured them, together, in pictures that make me cry with joy.

We received our photos on a disk within 5 weeks of our wedding. They are fantastic. We shared our online gallery with many of our family members and friends and everyone loved it. I took the digital files to a professional printer and they look great printed even in larger prints.

We had our wedding at the Brazilian Room in Tilden Park and found Ian’s name on the the vendor list provided during a wedding fair.
After talking with a couple of photographers, we knew Ian was the perfect match. He is very personable, professional, and had great photos! We also LOVED the fact he provided us with our photos on a disc automatically, rather than charging for this as many other photographers do. We also appreciated the fact he did not include the price of an album in his fees. While he offered this as a service, it was not mandatory, like many of the other people we looked at.
We just got our photos back tonight and could not be happier. We could not wait to Unilocal him! We highly recommend his services and also loved the fact he was the one who recommended our florist who also turned out to be simply amazing (Chestnut and Vine in Berkeley).

Ian is an excellent wedding photographer – or photographer for whatever your needs might be. I met Ian when he photographed a friend’s wedding on Mt. Tamalpais in the SF Bay Area. My friends have wonderful taste-​one of them is a product designer– and I had planned to check out their photographer, see if I liked his style, and probably ask him if he could photograph my wedding a few months later. When I met Ian at their wedding, he was so unobtrusive and laid-​back, I assumed he was a guest at first! When I realized he was the photographer, I immediately got his card and booked him. I could not have been happier about the results. He was charming to work with, and my entire extended family was impressed with his kindness toward them, not to mention his great sense of humor. Both of the event coordinators I worked with, at two separate venues, liked him so much they put him on their preferred vendors lists. He is completely flexible with scheduling and traveled from Oakland to Los Altos/​Palo Alto two different times for us. When we got the proofs of our photographs, they were in an album for us to keep– a classy touch. We have shown them to many of our married friends, who all have commented that they love Ian’s style– he is a photojournalist, so he captures moments and people’s true facial expressions to tell the whole story of the event. There is a picture of my mom and me that day having a conversation, and the expressions on our faces are so totally ”us,” that it made me laugh out loud. Similarly cool is a picture of me with my dad, trying to tie a balloon to a sign– my dress, the balloon, and his tie are all the same color, and the result is one of the most unique photographs I’ve ever seen, especially for a wedding. Ian also took some lovely traditional portrait shots of our families– he was very willing to take any shots we asked for. If you want a photographer who is easy to work with, who will capture your event and your family with a mix of traditional portraits and unbelievably great candids, I highly recommend Ian!
