Carmel Welding

Just reviewing their repair service, not the rental offerings. Do not take something in here for a repair. Took in a power washer to get repaired, and it took over a month with no updates offered. When we picked it up, the bill was over $ 150 for a $ 22 part. Labor was $ 115. Worst part was no warning that what was thought to be a simple and inexpensive repair would be so much. After we got it home it didn’t work. Would start OK (this was the issue), but then stop after less than a minute. After about 30 minutes of trying to get this to work we brought it back. They claimed to have tested it, but that doesn’t really make sense. Instead of offering to fix it for free, they said they’d call me and tell me how much it would be (at my request). When I said that I’ve already paid 60% of my purchase price to get the first repair done, the guy at the desk said he would have no idea of how much I paid to buy it. Again, this doesn’t make sense because they are in the business and would know the general value of a pretty basic power washer. Overall this was a terrible experience and I would not recommend taking anything in here for repair. Find a reputable company with good and friendly customer service and customer-​centric policies.

Recently moved to the Indianapolis area and bought a home on the north side. Went to Carmel Welding and purchased a Stihl line trimmer from Bill. Superb customer service. He knew the products and helped me find the right one for the job. Went back a few weeks later and purchased a new riding mower. Same great service and excellent buying experience. No wonder they have been in business for so long. Would highly recommend.

Worst experience here. I reserved a uhaul 3 weeks in advance from when I needed it and a friend suggested I call to make sure it was still reserved for me a few days before my scheduled pick up. And just like my friend suspected, they had lost my reservation and all uhauls in Carmel, Noblesville, and northern Indy were completely gone for the day I needed it. The customer service was awful and I was basically shrugged off as if they were saying to me «oh well.»

Avoid! Quoted 129 $ for a part on phone. Tried to charge my guy 335 $. Settled on 253 $. Freakin parts lists at 129 $ on mfg web site. Second time we’ve been hosed by these guys. You thought we would have learned first time. Had to have part to do the job.

Went to Carmel Welding the last 3 – 4 times for U-​Haul, and this time was no different. Excellent service, and they are open until 2pm on Saturday.
Everyone here is helpful, they stock trailers and have a lot of other equipment available.
