Ghost Hill Cellars is an Oregon winery focused soul-ly on Pinot Noir. For over 100 years, we have laid our family roots in farming 230 acres on Savannah Ridge in what is now Oregon’s Yamhill-Carlton AVA. In 1999, we planted 15 acres of Pinot Noir and released our first wine in 2006.
The legend of Ghost Hill dates back to the late 1800’s when a miner took a respite on our property after prospecting and was slain during the night for his gold. His searching spirit inspired our name and reminds us of the treasures our land continues to give.
Our winemaker, Rebecca Pittock-Shouldis believes that Pinot Noir should be listened to and gently encouraged to reveal it’s beautiful haunting and ethereal flavors; the elegant style of our wines reflects her patience. We invite you to visit our rustically beautiful property, hear the legend and taste the Ghost Hill spirit of Pinot Noir.
History
Established in 1999.
The Bayliss family acquired their land in 1906. It
was a dairy farm in the 1920’s and later served to
raise wheat, hay, clover, peas and sheep. Mike and
Drenda became more involved the family farm in the
1970’s and began raising beef cattle. In 1999, given
the property’s prime location in what is now the
Yamhill-Carlton AVA, they planted their first vines.
The family’s primary focus is on producing delicious
and elegant wines from the grapes grown on their
estate vineyard.
