History

Established in 2012.

The founder, Trish Fleming has been involved in the field of special education for over 20 years and has worked as a case manager for over 12 years. After supporting individuals and families for many years, she decided to officially open for business in January 2012.

With previous teaching experience in a public school setting, Ms Fleming discovered that she was able to connect with students and help them understand concepts in ways that their teachers were unable to. It was through these personal relationships and interactions that she was able to identify each student’s unique learning style and with that information she was able to work one on one with her students to teach them how they learned.

My background includes an undergraduate degree in Sociology and Social Science, a graduate degree in education, three teaching credentials (Multiple Subject with authorization to teach English language learners; Single Subject Social Science; Mild/​Moderate Education Specialist with ASD authorization) in addition to certification in ASL/​English Interpreting, Process Communication and BICM and CRISIS-​Plus.

When I’m not supporting families and students or being a mom, I enjoy volunteering for Coastal German Shepherd Rescue San Diego where I help in their mission to rescue and rehabilitate German Shepherd Dogs.

I also volunteer and participate in competitions such as half marathons and adventure racing with The Semper Fi Fund’s — Support Through Sport 2012 team.

I like learning about nutrition and ways to stay healthy. Whether I’m hiking, running or kayaking I’m happy just to be outside in this beautiful North San Diego County climate.
